  1. One more time for emphasis. Can't help but feel that the Cubs would have scored 2-3 runs less had the defense helped out a bit. Why? It's done. Enjoy what is happening now.
  2. This is awesome. I mean, maybe not the Cub injury part, but with the backdrop of the first seven pages of this thread, it's fantastic. Gushue at first? What's a Gushue?
  3. It's the big leagues man. No need to coddle the guy, he had a bad debut and it is what it is. If he is good enough to get big league hitters out it doesn't matter who you are playing. Right, and today it's a murderer's row that features Marisnick, Sogard, Wisdom (I know, he's been good), Alcantara, and a walk to the pitcher. Plus, this will be one sweet comeback. They are another 10-run eight from sweeping!
  4. My lunch today was a protein shake, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, and a banana all in the blender. About 400 calories, and it will get me through to dinner. And we are going out tonight, so I want to have as many calories available as I can, since I intend to max out my daily allowance at the restaurant. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I had a goal of 175 by that date. Made that goal last week (down from 230), and now I think I might try for the 160s, but I am essentially beginning maintenance. Could hardly be happier with my results.
  5. I would selfishly like that rotation, because I would rather the Brewer pitchers rest than pitch in the all-star game. Maybe they can get chosen, for bonuses and recognition, but in that rotation, only Burnes would be eligible to pitch in the game. Hader, too, of course.
  6. If you go to the game today, please report on Chorizo in the sausage race. I root for Chorizo every time, and his effort and results have been garbage in the games I have gone to. Unacceptable, and if it continues, I expect them to call up a Chicken sausage soon. Would even consider Impossible meat at this point.
  7. Young woman in a crop top got on the video screen, jumped up, put her arms in the air. She was not wearing a bra.
  8. Boxberger is getting on my nerves. 18 pitches, one out, two walks.
  9. Coach Cooper wouldn't have made that mistake. BTW, to set your expectations for tonight, I am going to be there, despite the fact that the Brewers are 0-4 with 2 total runs scored with me in attendance this season.
  10. That's a shame. Hope the self-appointed BFIB are holding up okay.
  11. If I am reading this correctly, you are saying he's affordable?
  12. I was in the stands for his 2hbp, 1 walk performance against the Reds. I kind of wince when he comes in. Edit: Boxberger, that is.
  13. Thanks! Appreciate the encouragement! I can't do fasting, just love food too much, lol. On that note I forgot to mention that strawberries have been a godsend for me. I can't convince myself to snack on veggies, but I love fruit. Strawberries are incredibly low calorie , and I could eat em all day. Thanks for the strawberry inspiration! I'm doing my annual summer "lose the ten pounds I gained during the school year". The evening is the hardest time for me snack wise, especially when I'm home alone like tonight. The bucks aren't helping either! So the strawberry idea is a timely and welcome suggestion! Mmmm Don't forget raspberries and blueberries. About 1 calorie in a raspberry, 21 calories in a quarter cup of blueberries. Big old bowl of those two fruits plus strawberries is saving me.
  14. Who was The hitter for the Indians back in the late seventies and '80s that was a walking talking rain delay by himself with the big elaborate ritual between every pitch that involved resetting both his batting gloves and two or three practice swings. I'm thinking it was Mike hargrove. Yes, the Human Rain Delay was his nickname.
  15. Nice work! Weight loss takes commitment, congrats! Hopper, sounds like we were in a similar place. Hit my goal weight this week. Took me a year and 3 months, but I went from 230 to 175. Haven't been at this weight since college, and that was almost 40 years ago. Waist from 38 to 32. Neighbor asked my daughter if I had been sick, so I think that means I'm doing something right? Intermittent Fasting 16/8, running or Orangetheory six days a week, counting calories, and here's the most impactful: I haven't had sugar since January. Now, the tough part: maintenance. I got down to 195 last year, took a tumble and hurt myself running in October, and in what seemed like a flash, was back up to 213 in January. Am very not bugged about where I am now.
