  1. The book on Milwaukee must be to throw a first pitch strike because they won’t swing.
  2. Quibble: Haines became the hitting coach in November of 2018. Call it lazy, but I need an outward show that tells me as a fan that changes are happening. Can't, as you said, get rid of the players. Brewers fired their manager at 23-24 in 1982. May have seemed like a shake up, but can't argue with the results. I'm okay with trying it again.
  3. Reminds me of Melvin Gordon getting 408 (in three quarters), then Perine breaking the record the following Saturday.
  4. DH? He probably will come back as the DH to ease him in a bit. But I have said this in the past when a player had a back issue. It would seem to me that swinging a bat is way more sudden and likely to cause back discomfort than playing outfield. Other than fatigue, what is the benefit to having him DH only?
  5. Someone just posted on Gateway Redbirds: I really can't stand Craig Counsell. I can't imagine how you could have an opinion about him as an opposing fan. I would be less surprised if an opposing team fan posted "I don't know who the Brewer manager is."
  6. Getting tired of seeing-eye bloops and ten-hoppers getting through while the Brewers have had some hard shots result in outs. Plus, I hate the Cardinals.
  7. But I think that's the heart of Underachiever's question- what is Aaron actually looking for here? Either you're forced to tie up the cap in an aging, currently still elite QB, or you try to restructure to give more freedom now but create a disaster a bit further down the line. It's really a lose-lose situation for the Packers. The only way you can actually 'guarantee' anything is to basically eliminate any outs you may have on his contract, thus creating a mess at some point. Right. I assume-ASSUME-the front office knows what Rodgers wants. I certainly have no idea. I just don't see any good outcomes, except Aaron getting over it and saying, "My bad. We hugged it out. Respect my decision!" Because anything less will not make the questions, and the narrative around it, go away. This whole thing is so weird.
  8. I was traveling for work two weeks ago, and I sat in my hotel room watching the Brewers play the Dodgers from the Bally app on my little iPhone for seven innings(!). Then I came to the realization that I was actually in Los Angeles and could watch them on the full-sized tv in my room. And you expect me to navigate these various streaming services? Not a chance.
  9. It appears that in an 8-week stretch, from Nov 14 to Jan 2, GB has 5 games at home, a bye, and two road games.
  10. I know bunting is dead/dying, but I wonder if the new extra-inning rule might bring it back a little. Especially for home teams in a tie game
  11. so what do they do? Commit more dollars to AR and make him a higher percentage of the cap? Then turn around and cut four starters? Let Jaire walk in a year? Setting up to be a pyrrhic victory.
