  1. The play where Ohtani got hurt was such a comedy of errors. You got a passed ball, two bad throws, and lose your starter for the game all in about 12 seconds. I guess he's fine, but had to be a little scary for the Angels.
  2. Just got home from the game. So disheartening to watch pinch hitters strike out looking. Makes me crazy. Burnes looked great, but Berrios was better. At least it was quick compared to Thursday. On opening day my DVR ran out after the 7th inning. Brewers third was 24 minutes long, Maeda threw 32 pitches, and Milwaukee only got one run! Two days in, and baseball is bumming me out.
  3. I have Direct. When I go to the link to watch BSW, or whatever it is now called, I get this message: Sorry, this program is not available to stream on your Computer. It displays on any program from channel 669 I try to watch. I tried with the pregame yesterday, the game, and this morning I have tried two more programs (Minnesota Wild game and another show). Is this what other people are seeing? Customer support from Direct is maddening. I was on hold for a long time, gave up. Went to the chat option, and not sure if I was speaking with a real person or a bot. I asked my question "Why can't I stream channel 669 on my computer?" and his answer was: "Channel 669 is a regional sports network, Bally Sports Wisconsin." Thanks, I knew that. He finally took my phone number, said someone would contact me, and 24 hours later, nothing.
  4. A major issue I haven't seen discussed: What happens to Front Row Amy's seat? What if it is a seat that they aren't selling? I NEED TO KNOW!
  5. It certainly shouldn't have ended badly for Michigan. They were 7-0 in Boroski-reffed games before the Elite 8. UW, on the other hand, was 0-7 in Boroski games, 10-3 in non-Boroski games. Here are Big 10 teams' records in BoBo games. The number in parentheses is the difference in winning percentage in the rest of their games. I got the numbers off of Buckyville, and the poster on Buckyville got them from Bart Torvik. Michigan 7-0 (-30%) Iowa 4-1 (-13%) OSU 4-1 (-27%) Illinois 5-2 (+13%) Purdue 4-2 (+3%) Rutgers 3-2 (-13%) PSU 2-2 (-17%) NW 2-2 (-23%) MD 2-3 (+7%) Indiana 2-3 (-4%) Minnesota 1-4 (+13%) Nebraska 0-2 (+18%) Michigan State 0-5 (+60%) Wisconsin 0-7 (+77%)
  6. How is that optimistic? The second-guessing usually starts in six hours? Usually when the lineup is announced.
  7. They better or I am using a tree. There should be more trees around if they aren't printing paper tickets. Win-win.
  8. You had me at "sick of the Cardinals." That's all you had to say!
  9. Am watching yesterday’s game as I have my coffee. Watching Yelich score from first on a long single to the gap has got me fired up!
  10. Those of you who are particularly bullish on the Brewers: What do you see as Woodruff's ceiling this year? I like him, but doesn't he need to go deeper in games? He has a lot of ~5-inning starts on his record, and even with analytics often telling me my eyes are wrong, I would like to see him go 7 innings and get through the lineup three times. Same with Burnes, of course. I guess I need to see more from both of them to have confidence with the starting pitching depth, because if they are not great, I'll be holding my breath a lot while watching.
  11. I hope not. Too small. Not a good shooter. They weren't interested in him the first time, I don't think he has improved his profile in the last three years.
  12. Think he can still throw a brekka ball?
  13. Had the game recorded, watched the first five innings this morning. That was some ugly baseball they played, and add in the Pina collision. Hope he's okay.
  14. Man, the Padres are signing everybody!
  15. Regarding the bold, have we seen this ability yet?
  16. Let me add: I watched yesterday's game. 10-9? Pitching and defense, my ass. This team is all about Craig's Crushers. Counsell's Clobberers? Needs work, I'll admit.
  17. I've said it before. A college basketball game ain't over till you get multiple camera shots of referee asses as they huddle over a monitor. It's awful. I saw posted somewhere, and didn't verify, that the last 45 seconds of the game took 18 minutes. Add in that there are too many timeouts available. Regulation basketball games should not take 2:20 to play.
  18. Olave? Did he change his mind? https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ohio-state-star-wr-chris-olave-spurns-the-nfl-to-return-for-senior-season/

  20. There is no such thing as a thread that is so simple that it can't be derailed. "Anyone know which hotel teams stay at?" "City is a dump!" "No, it's not!" "Autographs!" "Pandemic!"
  21. Not sure if the italicized was written by you or if you are quoting someone, but that is the argument from me. Baseball needs offense, fewer strikeouts. If video helps, use it. Christian Yelich probably faces more 98 mph fastballs in a weekend series than Babe Ruth did in his career. I am sure that pitchers with 32 complete games in a season weren't painting the corners at 100 in the ninth inning. And I am not sure that video would have helped you with a spitball anyway. Bob Feller is still talked about because he was such an anomaly as a hard thrower back then, and for all we know he was throwing low 90s. From an ESPN article: "Feller's numbers from that season are mind-boggling from a modern perspective. He went 26-15 with a 2.18 ERA and 348 strikeouts, but that's not even the fun stuff. He started 42 games and completed 36 of them, throwing 10 shutouts. He pitched 371.1 innings. He even saved four games for good measure. Using a basic pitch count estimator, we guess that Feller threw 5,848 pitches that year. That's 2,118 more than the 3,730 that MLB leader David Price threw in 2014." You will never, ever be able to convince me that he was routinely throwing 90+. Use the video.
  22. No! Just No! SD has gotten all the baseball FA this year, I won't allow them taking the football ones as well. (I guess they aren't SD anymore, are they? Old habits die hard.)
