This is proving prophetic this evening. Unfortunately. Glad he righted the ship somewhat though. I'd happily take 6 innings and 2 runs from any starter. Just seems odd that he goes from unhittable to average after the third inning. That check swing cheapie that rolled into right against the shift was bad luck that should have ended the inning.

I appreciate the challenge of calling a game from a remote location, but it’s better to wait a second to see what’s happening before bringing out the grand slam home run voice. When I first saw that I thought Garcia got jammed and hit a lazy fly ball. For a fraction of a second I thought maybe I had misjudged it. On a related note, the Cubs are calling to see if Lepay is available.

Is this team slow? It’s kind of a theme with me, but at some point, all the infield hits go beyond luck. Holt looked really bad running that ball down in the gap.

Is a guy with a finger on the delay button even a thing in a baseball broadcast? And if the guy knew the mic was hot, wouldn't he have taken it down himself if he had that power? I don't think anyone was aware of it, and if you think the microphone is not hot, what would you be listening to?

I had to chuckle at the horrible phrasing of "the people who sign my paychecks". Just say Fox Sports Ohio or whatever. Don't telegraph your feelings on what you are truly afraid of losing. This isn't meathead Mark Grace calling his wife a dingbat on the air. As others said earlier, he is a guy who grew up in the announcing world. The concept of a hot mic isn't new to him.
