  1. You know, if they play three inning games, they can get all 162 in. Woodruff with three wins and Hader with three saves in a single day.
  2. https://www.bradenton.com/news/coronavirus/article244164887.html https://www.wyff4.com/article/first-child-dies-due-to-coronavirus-in-south-carolina-dhec-says/33284245# https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/lauderhill-family-loses-two-children-to-covid-19-days-apart/2260990/ While not nearly as common as older people, kids and young people have been dying as well (I'm presuming in the articles that don't specifically state symptoms that there's a reasonable assumption they had some before death). I did qualify my statement with "healthy". The Miami story the kids have pretty severe cormidities. The other two links are silent on pre existing but I'd guess there were. They were also silent as to experiencing symptoms. You also said there would be breathless media coverage. Where is that?
  3. Patriot. (Not 'The" Patriot, the Mel Gibson movie. ) Patriot could be my favorite TV series of all time, it's two seasons. Best way I can describe it it's a dark comedy. Not really the same as Fargo, but if you loved Fargo you'll probably love Patriot. It's unlike anything you've seen, in a good way. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows. Watched the first three episodes. Thanks for the mention. Really like it so far
  4. Yea, it's pretty funny. I mean, who of us hasnt tried the ol Eiffel Tower with our brother?!?! (Me). The reporting of this was irresponsible. It was described as an orgy. Can't have an orgy with only three people. I have to draw the line. Now, a threesome with your brother, I would accept, "brogy."
  5. Two words: Jaime Cocanower.
  6. He was so good, that as an 11 year old in 1982, he would have pushed Gorman to the bench in CF.
  7. Swear to god, I read that and went, "22? Charlie Moore?"
  8. Better than nothing I guess. They could also work another job and at least double that pay... Not a ton of places hiring right now. Not sure what the Phoenix/Central Florida job markets are like at this point.
  9. Am I the only one old enough to remember Herb Washington?
  10. That was a lot of fun. Two things: Votto seemed like kind of a dick with his reaction. Take the L and go home. Second, what were those uniforms in the second triple play? I thought the Cubs were playing.
  11. It would be better to be a better team. If there is payroll flexibility at mid-season, that is great. However we have repeatedly seen the Brewers have to overuse their top pitchers in the 1st Half of a season which effects their performance at the end of the season. Personally I think Ryu would have been a great roll of the dice. I think the Brewers need more TOR pitching. It seems to me that there is a bigger chance of the Brewers being not quite good enough to be a legit World Series contender than we are in danger of overdoing it with payroll. Thankfully we have David Stearns at the helm. He still might be able to craft a team that can win it all. He’s shown the ability to get the Brewers a superstar or two and make lemonade out of the lemons he’s limited to in payroll. Can you give examples of the bold statement? It doesn't ring true with me.
  12. Earlier, someone mentioned Yelich's back. What are the details of that? It would seem to me that the real issue with a bad back is swinging the bat, not running in the outfield. So would first base actually be that much of a relief as long as he was still taking 4-5 ABs a game?
  13. Okay, NOW it's a rivalry.
  14. Uhhh.... Knowing that, I really hope he has a great spring and makes the team! I really want to see what the souvenir is on "Mayor of Dongtown" appreciation day!!! The Mayor of Dongtown bobblehead has a chance to be really memorable.
  15. My take: Suter is taller than I thought. Hiura is shorter. Also, Suter looks like he's wearing someone else's uniform at a fantasy camp. Needs some tailoring. Oh, and I love the uniforms.
  16. Where have I seen Washington look dead for most of a game, then suddenly score three runs in a flash? Seems familiar...
  17. I found this interesting. I'm curious what a rating point is worth in MKE as opposed to LA, but I'm sure David Gruber and Pizza Ranch are happy with those numbers. Top 5 teams ranked by local TV ratings according to Sports Business Journal: 1) St. Louis Cardinals - 6.59 2) Cleveland Indians - 6.55 3) Milwaukee Brewers - 6.37 4) Minnesota Twins - 6.33 5) Boston Red Sox - 5.25 Bottom 5 teams ranked by local TV ratings: 1) Oakland A's - 0.76 2) Seattle Mariners - 0.83 3) Chicago White Sox - 0.95 4) Texas Rangers - 1.17 5) Anaheim Angels - 1.24
  18. Doesn't Darvish have four years left? Thought he signed a six-year contract.
  19. What's Subero's Legacy?
  20. Or ... counterpoint ... the Cardinals suck. That post did not age well. He's not wrong. Cards in six can still happen, and the Nats got near-perfection from their starters. Won't believe the Cardinals are dead until they are in the ground.
  21. That's pretty much how I remember it. Just looked it up and STL scored 11 runs in the first inning. Plus they went up 3-0 in the second inning of Game 5 as well. Playing from behind and turning David Freese into a hero.
  22. Would love it if they put a Chotchkie's in there. Now THAT place has some serious flair. I'd take a Shenaniganz. You could appeal to the Latin players with Escupimos en su Alimento.
  23. Rollie Fingers getting hurt in 82. Vuckovich pitching on fumes in the Series, then showing up injured in 83, so you knew he was done. Gorman Thomas, looking like he was running on ice on his injured hamstrings to catch a ball on the warning track in Game 4, falling down, and the Cards scored 2 runs on a sac fly. 2! Having a former Brewer be Series MVP. I wasn't a Daddy then, but it all made me sad. Seriously, watch Gorman "run" in this video. https://www.mlb.com/video/herrs-sac-fly-scores-2/c-2516872483
