  1. So...I made a quick run to the hardware store. What’d I miss? Ran upstairs to put in the new faucet, Arcia hits a home run.
  2. First four outs, three by strikeout, on 15 pitches. Twenty pitches thru 2. I try to be positive, but so hard to watch this team hit.
  3. This may be a rare instance where being a fantasy baseball player would actually give you more insight into actual baseball, because as any fantasy player can tell you this is a weird flukey season and seemingly half the hitters in the league have been garbage. Probably many reasons for that, including the lack of normal spring training. Long story short, saying any of the new Brewers signings "stink" at this point is preposterous. I've stayed out of this till now, but can I say that Holt stinks? Please?
  4. To speed up games, just start Hiura 0-2. He’s gonna get there anyway.
  5. Watched the end of Reds-Royals. Reds down one, bottom 9. KC closer walks bases loaded, one out, Colon swings at four straight, grounds into game ending dp.
  6. Was on a business trip in Denver. Saw Rockies beat the Dbacks 19-2.
  7. At what point are the infield hits and bloops that drop in, not just bad luck? I think this team is slow, and when that is the case, you position them differently. Maybe they are back a step or two. Or maybe Lauer being garbage again just has me crabby. Change his number to 60. Would match the scoreboard from his first two games.
  8. Just bought Game 1 tickets from a guy on Addison this morning. Pumped!
  9. You can bury me with stats, I know that, but for the speed, Garcia was -1 in outs above average as a center fielder. So while his speed is better than Gamel, it's not great. Never suggested that Gamel was a better option, just that Garcia wasn't a great one.
  10. I am not a guy who spends much time looking at UZR, and other advanced metrics, but Garcia in Center, Mathias in left is not confidence-inspiring defense. What I have seen is that Garcia is below average in center, and, while fast for a big guy, is not speedy. Mathias running down that ball in left last night had me holding my breath, and he is new to the outfield. I'm concerned with how slow the team looks. Gyorko, Smoak, Sogard are not quick, and if that is your infield with Hiura, you will see an awful lot of infield hits like the Sox have had. Are Morrison, Holt, Healy the answers? My biggest hope is that I was as dismayed with the UW Basketball team in December. They were not fun to watch, and were shooting like the Brewers are hitting. The Badgers came around, hope the same thing happens with the Brewers.
  11. I think that while nothing has changed, I think players are finding out that their fellow players aren't taking this seriously enough to warrant sticking around for 40% of a pro-rated salary. Whatever plan MLB had in place is not nearly (by a long shot) good enough to guarantee safety for players and their families, and after 10 days, it's more than enough look to see that walking away is a good, fair, and safe call by those who choose to do it at this time. Looks like the answer to all three of your questions in LoCain's mind is yes. But I'm glad you get a kick out of it.
  12. Hope Pat Murphy recovers quickly and that he discovers the cause. I would guess he might be sitting out the season now. I've had three heart attacks due to plaque eruptions and arterial spasm. My brother, a cardiologist, told me that there is growing concern and some indication that COVID can cause both of those (not enough good studies have been done yet), but it makes sense to him. It is the thing that personally scares me the most about getting the virus. Of course, I am not suggesting the Murphy has COVID. It's the dots that connected in my mind when I read the story.
  13. Weird seeing full seats behind home plate at Dodger Stadium. Will the stadium crew put away the cutouts in the seventh inning?
  14. We are ok. Sogard gets to see another two pitches this game.
