  1. Zach Davies looks good. Would be nice to get another inning, but I imagine that’s not happening.
  2. Perception is a funny thing. I don’t know what Shildt was complaining about, but I saw this post on the St. Louis board: “You have a six run lead Counsel; get this game over with” What did Counsell do but ask for an explanation of what Shildt was complaining about?
  3. I hope he pours it on!!!! We’ll see how much bullying and gang mentality there’s going to be on this board tonight. Not that I’m complaining. WWCCD?
  4. Sorely disappointed we haven’t heard Coach Carter’s views on “pouring it on” yet. Could put this whole argument to rest.
  5. Where is everyone? I’m in the 300-level club seats. 70 seats in my section, 13 are occupied. Lots of emptiness all around.
  6. So are you saying that Desclafani pitches well compared to himself against Milwaukee? As I understand tOPS+, it compares a player's home/road OPS against each other. I don't understand how that's an indicator of pitching well.
  7. My info may be wrong, but in seven career starts against Milwaukee, he has an ERA of 5.14. 24 ER in 42.1 innings. That includes 8 scoreless in his first start against Milwaukee back in 2015. He has not given up fewer than 4 runs in each of his last four starts against Mil (6.35 ERA). Chacin pitched twice in Cincinnati as a Brewer and five times in his career total going back to 2011. Overall, a 4.3 ERA. His last start was good, though, 5IP with 1ER in a 12-3 win.
  8. I’m gonna go ahead and panic about Moose’s defense at second.
  9. On the other hand, I think we can all agree that Denkinger in 85 was the greatest one ever. Because Cardinals.
  10. Other than lacking the talent that makes the switch impossible, I find this such a common but odd take. If you are going be jealous, why wouldn't you switch spots with Mark A? Lot less physical work than the players, and your money would be maximized for a lot longer. Plus you could have bought something that quintupled in value in the last 15 years without you doing anything but writing the checks.
  11. Competitively, it's like he's going away for a while, isn't it? Can't see SD being a contender this year. It's a win for the Brewers because he's not pushing the Phillies, Cubs or Dodgers over the top. And what will his offensive numbers look like at Petco?
