  1. Him as a Blue Jay still is cringe worthy to this day. Granted i was only 9 when that happened.. but... still... BARF This was when I too lost my sports innocence. I remember I'd read the sports section in 2nd grade and read about Reggie and him visiting the Browns and it was just a given to me that he'd come to GB. And of course Molly would stay. It's one of those, "I can remember where I was when that happened" moments. Staying over at my Grandparents from watching SOME sporting event the night before getting ready for 2nd grade. I was devastated. My B-Day is the 4th, lucky number is 4...and we have the same first name. He was my hero. Only later did I learn the Brewers screwed up and didn't leave him a lot of a decicions. Not exactly my sport innocence was lost, because I was a grown man, but Molitor was my favorite player. I remember thinking being disappointed in him, and then found out he got offered 2yr/13 million from the Blue Jays, and I think I recall the Brewers offering him 1yr/2mil. I was ready to help pack his moving truck at that point. Brewers really did screw up.
  2. What do you think is wrong with Mendoza? I like her. Either way, announcers don't make or break a game with me.
  3. Contreras' walk celebration has made my list of obnoxious behavior.
  4. Yeah, he's terrible. 47 HR, and 121 RBI and 97 runs scored? Most HR in baseball since 2015 All Star break. Just awful. You guys are unreal. I just threw that out there to get a reaction and sure enough. That's not to say I don't think Davis is deserving to be in the top 10 regardless of WAR in his case. I do. If he was in NY or Boston he would be. If you are trying to point out that we are “unreal”, maybe you don’t quote an extremely reasonable, stats-based post by RoCo as proof.
  5. I heard that too. The other announcer commented on how the Cubs have significantly more run scored than the Brewers. Which virtually disqualifies the argument. Also factor in Yelich has played 13 less games due to injury and has comparable or better counting stats. Cubs have scored 13 more runs than the Brewers in 159 games. That's about one extra run every twelve games or so.
  6. Love that Gamecast for Pirates says, “Newman and Kramer scored.” Need Bania with the game winner.
  7. Hate the split screen. Took a phone call, came back in and saw runners on first and second, but it was the Dodgers.
  8. Injuries were a factor. I know Fingers was mentioned, that was the killer. However, Gorman was hobbled by, I believe, a bad hamstring. He was running like he was on skates during the series. He caught a ball on the warning track in Game 4 and Ozzie Smith scored from second on the sac fly. A two-run sac fly! No question Vuckovich was not himself, either. He showed up with a bad rotator cuff in spring training 1983, and I believe that he was hurting in the Series. I remember him walking around the mound a lot in game seven, picking mud out of his cleats, lots of rosin bag grabs. I think he was trying to buy time. Crap, I sound like an old man.
  9. Just got two for home game 2 of NLDS. Section 333. I'm not a season ticket holder. Higher than I like to sit, but still think they are good seats. Does anyone know what it's like up there?
  10. A cubs-dodgers wild card game could still happen.
  11. How about an ERA of 3.35? For a guy with an ERA of 3.35 and a FIP around 3.65, I sure don't get the hate for him around here. I would have said that for any pitcher. I don’t have any animosity toward Barnes.
  12. It’s doing it for me too. I missed the Braun homer because of it. I have DirecTV. Watching in a sports bar in Denver. Same garbled mess.
  13. Anything that flies that far should have a stewardess on it.
  14. It would be really lousy magic if it only meant you tied for a playoff spot. Let's not muddy it with a number that would end up in a tie. I don't want a "Tied for 2nd Wild Card" banner next year. As of now, it's: 5 for a wild card 6 for the first wild card. 11 for the division.
  15. Okay, Brewers and Cubs finish with 91+ wins. Cards, Dodgers, Rockies all finish 90-72. Dodgers and Rockies need a playoff to see who wins the West. Would the loser then have to play the Cards for the second wild card?
  16. Bill Wamsganss. awesome if not cheating. Catcher was Ron Hassey, he only went on to play in 9 more games after catching his second perfecto Nah, no cheating. That’s a classic question
  17. I’d believe that Wells Fargo ad a lot more if the WF guy replaced the customer’s gold with rocks and then kept it for himself.
