  1. Thank you yet again Cain I don't care if his power falls off a cliff. Get on base at a 350 clip and do that.
  2. Get 5 great IP from Houser. Score zero runs. Turn it over to Guerra. Ok, buckle up.
  3. I prefer this to a stadium that is dead inside. I prefer this to 10 idiots wooing because its echoing in an open stadium. Oakland does the whole FAN thing pretty well. Even Raider psychos are better than ties who show up late leave early and sit on their hands.
  4. Wooing is terrible, but the Warhawk Trot is the worst thing in sports.
  5. *That doesn't involve a college marching band* Lets just agree drums don't belong at baseball games not in Japan. They do those thunder sticks.
  6. In HS soccer my school played DC Everest and they did the whole drums and cowbells thing. They destroyed us. They were yellow and green. I'm struggling with flashbacks.
  7. Probably. Can't be stretched out for much more than that. Thrilled and fairly stunned. He's given the team a shot here. The 5th is a question, I was hoping for 3.
  8. It's not pretty but I think the bat makes a bigger impact than the defense. This isn't a Santana situation, even if it is ugly.
  9. Guys hitting .381. I mean this is getting downright stupid. I for one am stunned he is ranked so low by the scouting services. If he caught fire at 26 that would be one thing. If he was a low pick that would be another thing. This is a 1st round pick HS pick that is exploding into his long thought potential. He's doing exactly what Monte Harrison did. Harrison is ranked 88th. Harrison was a 2nd round pick. Harrison is a full year (plus) older. Grisham is destroying a league where Harrison has 9 HR in 190 AB. Grisham has 13 in 134. He wins every batting peripheral cleanly. Just doesn't add up.
  10. Cycled with 2 HR in 5 AB in a game where his team only scored 8. I'd say that's pretty rare.
  11. Right type of deal Don't like the target Cody has looked very good as a RP in AA this year. But its a 40 man crunch guy who is rule 5 eligible. You either call him up into the pen next year (and I think we have a few guys who are better options) or you flip him as a low level trade chip. I'll cross my fingers about Lyles, but this is the type of trade I wanted to see done a few times at the deadline if we bought. I'd have preferred calling up Wilkerson and letting him start but whatever. They don't want to go to Wilkerson, they don't want to pull Ponce into the MLB pen next year. (cuz he can't be an Albers type?) Not my ideal move but rule 5 filler for a body is the right idea.
  12. Seems more along the lines of Turang Brown based on prospect grade. 55 50.
  13. Last year our #1 pitcher was Miley or Chacin. Are they aces? 3.5 3.5 4 4 4 would do the trick. We haven't had that all year. Davies was great as Burnes and Peralta got lit. Gio stabalized for a bit but then vanished. Woodruff Davies took the 1-2 role but Chacin and insert mess was imploding at 4-5. #1 pitcher doesn't have to be an ace. Team has had a lot of black holes dragging this team down. I think ACE labelled pitchers are grossly overrated on the trade market. You need rotation depth and pen depth.
  14. Why? This year is all but shot for them. Next year is his Arby 4?
  15. Depends on your idea of significant. I don't think they need significant. I think they need some pitchers who won't be a complete black hole. 4.0-4.2 era rental vets would do just fine. 4 Brown, 5 Ray, 16 Erceg and 20 Webb are in our top 20 on pipeline and are rule 5 eligible. Also, Arica. Ahhhhh. The someone’s trash is someone else’s treasure trade No that's a Swarzak deal. A Neil Walker deal if you send out Moose to someone and bring in a middling cap dump. Krod. You aren't going after aces or studs... your going after low value filler rentals. The team has all the aces it needs save a #1 pitcher. It doesn't have the glue guys.
  16. Here we go again, weaken the pen to get a mediocre starting option. We now have 2 relievers and 3 starters.
  17. Wilkerson and a filler arm that falls through the trade market. Let Houser stay in the pen. Moving him turns 1 problem into 2.
  19. It's not like we get out of Braun's salary if we cut him. I'm aware, but it was a wish.. so that salary dump was also part of my wish.
  20. There seems to be very few people in the Aguilar camp at this time. I would like to see Braun at 1b for his final year with MKE with Gamel and Grisham splitting the 4th OF/LF starter role. I'd temper my expectations but at the same time Grisham is putting up numbers no one else put up in AAA for us this year. I don't expect Hiura, and I don't expect a dud.
  21. I know, it's exactly where I am. Fandom is rooting for every win. Realist is screaming this isn't our year and it would suck to watch Moose and Grandal kept if a good offer is there for them. I'm in that terrible spot of we should buy and sell. Sell blue chip expirings, buy rental filler with rule 5 unprotected MiLBers.
  22. If you needed people twisting someones word to stir the pot and bait retaliation. You also won.
