  1. Hopefully other clubs like him and he brings back something big at the deadline for the Crew He better not get traded, this moribund offense can use his bat any day now. 4-5... with 3 doubles. .358 average now. Braun is 1 year away and a few months from not being on this team. You can't deal Grisham right now. The next OF up in the system is Lutz and he's a ways away without a blow up season like we are watching Grisham have.
  2. I really would have a hard time throwing all my eggs in the Shaw basket for next year. He's actually rebounding in AAA right now. He's close to what I wanted to see before they brought him back up from the IL. I haven't given up on him yet. If rosters expand to 26 we can carry Braun Shaw and Aguilar at 1b if we want.
  3. Agreed. But something has to go. I figure if they keep Moose, Thames is as good as traded. Shaw is the 1b/3b backup. Braun plays 1b at more 60/40 than only vs LHP. He'd take EVERY one vs LHP though.
  4. I like our first basemen It's the best way to keep him healthy and limit his starts without hurting depth. Platooning him with Shaw or Thames would make a lot of sense next year. and 3-4... batting .351 now.
  5. I miss Marquis Grissom! You think he's Grissom? I'd expect him to get on base better than that. Guys always been high OBP.
  6. Grisham with 2 more doubles in 3 AB tonight. Hitting .344 in AAA and OPS above 1.000. Came on like a freight train. Braun... break in that 1B glove buddy.
  7. Can he work on a position change again? Could use a RH 1b to platoon with Thames/Shaw next year. Grisham is getting downright silly in AAA.
  8. Yes sir. Kinda like Griffey Jr. I’m thinking it was more like Travis Shaw. Higher pitched hallow ball sound... bat speed is different than Shaw.
  9. Yep. Lost his eye from a year ago and it’s killed this team this season. He's sees everything out there... We could bat him 9th. He could be worse than Arcia... that defense though. Good grief. I mean I hope no Cain fans think I'm bashing the guy. He can suck at the plate and War positive. He just shouldn't bat 1st sucking at the plate. Love the guy in CF, but he's useless at the plate this year.
  10. I get what you are saying... but do you really think there is a difference between being in the majors batting low in the order and batting high in the order. The pressure to succeed at any batting slot is high. I don't think you can point to a huge difference between batting 4th-7th and batting in the top 3. Hitting is hitting and Hiura seems like a calm technician. I worried his power wouldn't play as well as it has in the MLB but everyone at every level has pointed to hit contact tool being plus plus. You bat that guy at the top of the order. The stupidly high .387 OBP out of the gates confirms that.
  11. Maybe CC feels it places to much pressure on the kid. How many games has he played in his career. 30? I’m just guessing. That makes sense. I will accept that for just a short while. If Keston keeps on hitting like this, though ... I won't accept it for very long. I know Craig Counsell is very concerned about my acceptance of this. Because playing in the majors is no big deal. Batting 7th a damn yawn. But 1st or top 3... WHOA that's pressure. Please. That's so superstitious it's dumb even by baseball standards. If he seriously thinks this, you can fire him because he's a moron.
  12. Yeah put our 7th best batter in a position to hit most... Seems logical. Why would anyone get mad about that? Thought we were an analytics franchise. Reports are that Cain has really felt better the last 2 weeks - treatment and rest for the thumb and his numbers have proven that out. I don’t have them, but I’m sure a few out there do. They are talking about the last 6 games. If you look at his last 7 (less than 2 weeks) he's still OBP at .314. Last 15, .324, last 30 .312. If the thumb is an issues, and it has been a long term one, bat him 7th to give him a few less AB. When he's the .375 OBP guy from last 2 years then let's talk. We want to keep waiting for Shaw to break out. We want to keep waiting for Cain to get healthy. Play to win today.

  14. Cain's signs of life aren't doing it for me. Put your stack together properly CC. Last 7... obp .613 Last 15... obp .469 Last 30... obp .398 Bat your Springer in the damn 1 hole. Hiura... .387 obp Yelich... .431 obp and 34 HR Grandal... .370 obp and 19 HR (even when he's cold his OBP out paces Brauns) Moose... 25 HR Braun... 13 HR Thames... .374 obp and 13 HR Cain Arcia P Your best hitter bats 2nd. Your 2nd best hitter bats 1st. They need the most ABs. 4 HR hitters behind those 2 would score runs in bunches. No... bat him 7th. We are past the rookie crap. He's playing like a stud, use him. Why would you put anyone but your BEST OBP in front of Yelich?
  15. Yeah, that's his issue. Not the total lack of big league quality stuff. Out of the pen his BBs have doubled. That's not helping.
  16. I confess that I am disturbed by the strikeout rate, but when he hits it, he usually hit it hard for hits, unlike Shaw's weak contact. LOL! 164/278/568 is not close to where Hiura is.
  17. Pitch to Puig instead of loading the bases for a DP and force at home. IBB Dietrich down 3-0. I'm confused.
