  1. I could see the Hausers going to Wisconsin as a real possibility. They probably watched Wisconsin on TV growing up. Maybe it was always a dream of theirs to play for “their” team. It’s under a two hour drive from Stevens Point to Madison and maybe they want to play together one final season and be able to have their parents attend most of the games. This is (most likely) the last time they ever play together so why not experience what it’s like to play for your home state team that you always dreamed of playing for with your brother. Happ is also gone now and really opens it up down low for Sam and Joey to go to work. They can both stretch the floor and open up the inside, something they couldn’t do with Happ. Getting the Hausers would make everybody better and create more lanes for guys to drive and dish. Teams wouldn’t be able to clog the lane like they could the last couple years with Happ in the middle. There would be 5 legit shooting threats on the floor at pretty much all times. Wisconsin would have a top 10 team if they got these guys. Possibly top 5.
  2. Huge loss for Marquette. Hopefully they transfer to Wisconsin!
  3. I like Grandal hitting 5th. Hopefully he remains there the rest of the way. I agree that Aguilar should be moved down to 7th in the lineup until he proves he can actually hit. Moose, Grandal, and Shaw should all be hitting before Aguilar. If they want to keep the lefties broken up, just put Grandal between them. I was thinking Grandal would be hitting 5th most of the year anyway.
  4. Wow, you guys are really starting to POUR IT ON!!!!
  5. I’m glad you mentioned this. Just because the valuation went up $150K doesn’t mean you have that extra $150K sitting in your bank account to use on other things. The valuation of the Brewers increasing over the years does not mean there are hundreds of millions of dollars sitting in a bank account ready to be spent on the drop of a hat.
  6. I think it’s mostly because so many guys just want to try to hit a ton of homeruns instead of being all-around players. I think the pendulum will swing the other way once there are guys complaining about hitting 30 homeruns, but only getting offered 2/$10 million contracts because so many guys are doing it. Having guys hit .280/.350 with 15 homeruns is a better recipe for a consistent offense than a .230/.280 hitter with 30 homers. I think baseball is just at a point where homeruns are “king”, but once some players decide to become better hitters, work counts for walks, and go back to putting more balls in play, more players will follow suit because GM’s value players like that over gaudy homerun numbers. There just aren’t a lot of players like that in the league right now and it is something that players need to want to do and put in the time to do instead of walking up trying to hit a ball 450 feet every single time up. This is just my opinion and not a fact obviously. But players similar to Cain and Ender Inciarte will become more valuable than guys trying to hit a homerun every time they step up to the plate.
  7. Thank you for this gem! On another note, I don’t think Aguilar has too long of a leash at first this season. Thames isn’t much better of an option, but if he’s hitting well right now, you need to play him.
  8. What addition has been made that we had any inkling of beforehand? This would have been the only one, had it happened already. Still, not going to discount it until he signs elsewhere. I've got no reason to believe that he's bluffing about sitting out the whole year, but unless he is injured and is buying time as others have hypothesized, I don't believe it. How long does he really want to sit out waiting for a contract that just isn't going to come? Does he really believe that next year after sitting out a whole year teams are going to be willing to go 6/100 for a closer? Cain is one of them. He was linked to the Brewers for about a week I believe before we signed him.
  9. I doubt he forgot the blue and considering your agenda this is nothing but a troll post. Clancy isn’t trying to troll at all... Gotta pour it on the real troll here...
  10. Cain Yelich Goldy Braun Shaw Moustakas Grandal Arcia Oh man would that have been fun. Wish they would’ve listened to me. I was hoping for him as well. He’s just a fantastic hitter that has some great years left in him. Brewers still lack quality right handed power and he would of solidified that instantly. Aguilar’s struggles post All-Star break were a big concern and still are today. I expected Braun to have a big year this year, but outside of him and Cain at the top, they really lack right handed pop.
  11. Goldy is going to give Yelich a run for his money in the MVP voting this season. I think it’s going to come down to those two when all is said and done. Man would having Goldschmidt in the 3 hole behind Yelich be unfair for opposing staffs.
  12. Disappointed that Grandal isn’t in there since he is 8-15 the last 4 games, but I understand it since it is a day game after a night game. I wondered if he was a possibility to start at 1st today, but it doesn’t look like the Brewers are going that route with him even if he is swinging a hot bat. At least not yet.
  13. I would guess that Williams is on his way out of town since he is still in the game.
  14. It’s been two starts for Burnes. He will be fine. We all expected there to be growing pains this season using three guys that have little to no starts at the major league level. There will be good and bad days for Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta.
  15. I love Rock in the booth. I like that he isn’t afraid to speak his mind whether it’s an umpire making a bad call, a player doing a “dirty play”, things of that sort. He also sticks to his role as a color commentator and doesn’t walk all over BA like you will see other commentators do to the play by play guys at times. Wisconsin does have fantastic play by play guys in pretty much all sports. Any time I listen to a broadcast of another team, I always think of how great we truly have it.
  16. Slow down a bit there... He did give up a homer, so I think GREAT is a little bit of an exaggeration. Not sure there was a lot of naysaying, but concern for the long ball is legitimate. He held the game in check, at a time we needed him to do so, but giving up a homer, his downfall in the past, doesn't quite put his performance in the great category... I'd like to see him come into a game and not give up a dinger, then I think calling him a weapon might be in order. It is nice having a long reliever with his experience though, just stop with the home runs please... He’s just trying to pour it on...
  17. Glad we could get out of that without needing to use Hader or even have him begin to warm up. We will need him this weekend.
  18. First of all, this post didn't age well. Second of all, how can you say they hadn't "poured it on"? They scored 2 in the first, 4 in the second, and 2 more in the third. Im pretty sure thats the definition of pouring it on. I was thinking the exact same thing.
  19. Is it just me or has Moose lost quite a bit of weight from last season? I haven’t been able to watch much baseball yet this season and that jumped out at me.
