  1. For those of us who haven’t been on this board for decades, what is the inside joke behind WOAH SOLVDD? viewtopic.php?f=82&t=6641
  2. Brad Davison and Grayson Allen playing within 60 miles of each other next season? That might be too much whiney for one state.
  3. Exhibit A of the idea of all games matter. The Reds were mediocre in the first half, and it will likely bite them in the end. They are still mediocre, just on a hot streak.
  4. I've come to the conclusion that the Brewers don't like Luke Barker as anything more than a AAA arm.
  5. I wouldn't expect Vogelbach to make it through waivers, as someone will take a chance on that power bat with team control. He was hitting the ball pretty well before going down too. Shaw probably stands a solid chance of getting through waivers unclaimed. Then it would all depend on whether there is an MLB 3B or bench role out there somewhere for him.
  6. two new bullpen acquisitions may be activated as soon as tonight. a reminder that jandel gustave has an option. He's looked good. Very nice insurance to have for the inevitable bullpen injury or two that are bound to happen.
  7. Fully expect the Dodgers to claim him now Didn't end up getting anything out of the Orlando Arcia trade. Neither did the Braves really so far either, though. Well, Sobotka is still in the organization, and its possible that Weigel will remain as well. So not nothing. But probably close to it.
  8. It sure is going to be nice having Escobar as a RH bat that can play 1B, provided he can play 1B. But it is tough seeing room for both Tellez and Vogelbach on this roster. There's just too much redundancy and limitation there.
  9. Bowden Francis went in the deal for Tellez.
  10. Return is Alexander Canario and Caleb Killian. Canario is a 21 year old OF ranked #9 in the Giants system. Kilian is a RHP ranked #30. Seems light for Bryant.
  11. So just because you are not totally familiar with the relievers they traded for today, they don't exist?
  12. Gonna be Willson Contreras, the corpse of Jason Heyward and a bunch of rookies and nobodies. I'm ok with that.
  13. This tells me that they are comfortable with Houser keeping his rotation spot. Curtiss likely takes the pen spot that Houser would have occupied had a starter been acquired.
  14. Seems like a really solid, under-the-radar get. David Stearns doing a lot of David Stearns things today.
  15. There's still about 15 minutes left. I can't see them hanging onto him. He was the one guy I thought for sure would be on the move.
  16. Selling off most of their pieces and then acquiring is interesting He's part of the package going back for J.A. Happ. Happ very much seems like the Cardinals type. I do not like the fact that the Brewers are now likely to see plenty of him down the stretch.
  17. My goodness ... this trade deadline has been fun to watch. 50 minutes to go! Will the Brewers strike once again?
  18. Mets getting Trevor Williams from the Cubs as well. This really is a 100% full on tear down. Can't say I've ever seen anything like this.
  19. More long Yawn Gomes. Harrison is a nice piece for them, though.
  20. RIP Cubs. See you in 2026.
  21. Where did you see that? I think i bit on a fake twitter thingy. Reportedly for Senzel and Aykiama. LOL different one than I saw. Can't see them giving Senzel+ for two months of Bryant while waving up at the Brewers, though.
  22. Or maybe not. I just saw that. For Eugenio Suárez, Aristides Aquino and a PTBNL, according to the rumor. That doesn't really make any sense.
  23. Without a doubt. Velo is at least 3-4 mph higher than Milner on the FB, and Norris's slider is much better than any of Milner's secondary stuff. Plus he's not a junkballing side-armer. I hate junk-balling sidearmers.
  24. Still have 80 minutes. Bryant is as good as gone. Baez probably, too. Other smaller pieces like Davies as well. Come tonight, the Cubs roster is going to look Nashville Sounds-like.
