  1. This one is too good not to pin here on this thread. What an absolutely terrible post. Certainly one of the more absurd ones I've read today. I totally understand venting after that loss, though. That was brutal. Thankfully most of the heavy venters didn't feel the Brewers stood any sort of chance against deGrom today anyway, so the venting is at least a little moot.
  2. Hader blew the save. Not sure this argument is entirely appropriate in this particular instance.
  3. Hader was great in the role he had in 2018. He didn't really like the role, though. So the Brewers adjusted his role to keep one of their most valuable players happy. I not real sure why that is so tough to get. Hader wanted to be a traditional closer. He's now the best one in the game. It's OK
  4. I think I would have stuck with Burnes to get through the 6th. Pitch count is in fine shape. Pretty nervous with Williams coming in now.
  5. Good point. But he also knows that his treatment of the fans and his teammates also directly impacts his legacy.
  6. Narvaez has gotten to the point defensively where there is no discernable drop-off with him in there over Pina. He's a damn good defensive catcher.
  7. Agreed. This is his way of tweaking Packers' management right now, but when push comes to shove, he'll be there. He cares too much about the fans, his teammates and his legacy.
  8. Urias has shown a surprising amount of power this year. He just turned 24 last month. Could he be this team's 3B of both the present and future?
  9. Well that's one heck of a start! Maybe they'll hit well against deGrom because he isn't a nobody?
  10. They need one for Anderson for has Game 2 start today.
  11. So you are projecting a pick to the Brewers simply because you don't like the player's upside, and are using it an an excuse to get preemptively upset? I think you may be putting the cart before the horse a bit in this case.
  12. I don't think the series is over by any means, though I definitely think the Suns win it right now. I don't buy into the idea that the Bucks didn't look good, though. You said yourself after Q1 that you would take that first quarter on the road any day. The Bucks, I would guess, had their best 3 point shooting game of the playoffs. Giannis had 20 and 17 in his first game back. There's no one you can pick out that played a horrible game...we just lost. You could pick out Crowder's game and Booker's 1 for 8 from 3 and say that they have more room for improvement than we do. We missed some bunnies, but that didn't cost us the game. They rebounded well. They could stand to cut down on their turnovers, but it wasn't a crap show. Giannis going 7 for 12 from the line isn't great....but that's his usual numbers these days. Phoenix was absolutely lethal from the line and that was probably the biggest difference in the game. I'm not writing off the series, but the Suns look decidedly better. Budd has some adjustments to make to figure this one out. They need to figure out a way to steal Game 2. The key was the 3rd quarter. The Suns stretched an 8-point lead to 20. Everything the Suns threw up in the 3rd went down, and the Bucks were uncharacteristically lazy both on defense and on the glass during that quarter. They also had a bunch of bad offensive possessions that ended in poor shot selections. The Suns are an athletic team full of shooters, and led by a very heady, veteran PG who is on a mission. They are a terrible matchup for the Bucks if they try to play the Suns' game. The Bucks need to do what they did in Game 5 against Atlanta, driving the ball inside and taking advantage of their size to counteract Phoenix's mid-range game.
  13. It's one game in a 7-game series. I think it's prudent to see how they look tomorrow, and even Game 3 before drawing any conclusions. If they go down 2-0, it would be bad. 3-0, and they are toast.
  14. The Reds were winning 6-1 entering the bottom of the 8th inning. They lost 7-6. The Reds lineup can sometimes hit, and they have OK starting pitching, but I'm not going to take them seriously as a contender until they get the pen sorted out – and remember, that supposed "contender" traded their closer and top relief pitcher last offseason. They are a pretender right now, as they've been the last several seasons when many (including some here) attempted to crown them.
  15. For all the scoreboard watchers out there, the Reds just gave up 4 in the 9th to lose to the Royals, so the Brewers gained a 1/2 game in the standings. The Reds pen is a major Achilles heel.
  16. They are shooting slightly below us in 3 point percentage and about 5% better overall. Third quarter. Sorry, should have elaborated. They are hitting everything they throw up in the third quarter. It was a game before then.
  17. The Suns are hitting everything they are throwing up in the second half. Law of averages says that can't continue.
  18. Matt Arnold is a GM in name only ... simply because the Brewers didn't want to lose him to another club. Stearns is still calling the shots.
