  1. Why these kids all choose to go to Alabama, where they are going to compete with 8 other 5-star athletes for playing time, is anyone's guess. I mean mix it up a little bit!
  2. Madubuike would be a really solid pick there too. No doubt. Just pointing out that 3 guys that were heavily mocked to GB at 30 could end up with the team at 62. There's actually been quite a few reaches in the 2nd round. Quite a few really talented players will still be available for the Packers.

  4. Well, the Eagles just took the title from the Packers as the team with the strangest QB pick.
  5. I'd really love the Packers to go WR at #62, but if Baun is still there, he'd be a great fit at that open ILB spot. Cleveland would be a really solid pick there too.
  6. I love it. This format is terrific. I kinda wish it would be like this every year. I can do without the booing crowd and outragious suits. I like that they are announcing all the picks so far too, and talking about every one. In the past once they got to the 2nd round, it was just a bunch of interviews and recapping the 1st round.
  7. Mims Claypool Gandy-Golden K.J. Hill Bryan Edwards Collin Johnson Van Jefferson Joe Reed All those guys have the talent to be potential #1-2 guys. I hadnt seen the other names after Claypool. So its just 2 and draft & develop. Edwards, Van Jefferson and Joe Reed are studs. Edwards especially I think would be a great pick for the Packers. Just because you may not have heard of them, doesn't mean they aren't very good players. This is maybe the deepest WR group ever.
  8. I really like Bryan Edwards. Claypool is an athletic freak. He seems like the type Gute would really like. Nevermind ... Steelers take Claypool.

  11. Bears filling up the TE room. Why do you take a TE at the beginning of the 2nd round, though, to sit behind Graham for two years? They have 10 TE's under contract To be fair ... Graham is just a super slow slot receiver now.

  13. Good lord. The Lions are a dumpster fire. They aren't going to stop being a dumpster fire. We were a dumpster fire for 20 years at one time. Yeah ... 30 years ago. Because for the most part, the Packers know what they're doing.
  14. Happy he went before Dobbins. Better player. I think Dobbins is overrated.

  16. It really is amazing how many articles I've seen mention that Love was hindered by a head coach change as well as losing 9 offensive starters between his junior & senior year... ...without naming the head coach as the guy who quit on the Badgers to go to Oregon State. Doh! I saw igor67's comment on Gary Anderson and wondered why the long-tenured NFL kicker owed us anything... Anderson missing that chip shot in '98, costing the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl, was thanks enough
  17. Thought this was interesting. Bakhtiari would know Rodgers better than any of the draftniks or commentators. If he says this is going to light a fire under him, I'm inclined to believe him. http://www.nfl.com/videos/draft-a-thon/0ap3000001110933/David-Bakhtiari-Look-out-Aaron-is-about-to-be-on-fire
  18. Exactly! You can never, ever speak in absolutes when it comes to the NFL draft. The whole reason the Vikings CB is the dumpster fire it is is because they declined to a gaggle of recent high picks at that spot, including Rhodes, Waynes and Alexander. Using the assumption that the Vikings will make good personnel decisions to add credence to an argument is kind of a losing battle.
  19. I would - and ordinarily, I’m the last guy to advocate for that type of move. However, 2021 could be the weakest draft in history if there’s no college football next season. Plus, they’ll still likely have 3 compensatory picks to help backfill depth. I think every other team knows this as well. In fact, there might not even be a 2021 draft. I doubt any 2021 picks get moved.
  20. Hope for the present and future because we have a GM in place who isn't going to play into fan lip service. Did it occur to you that perhaps the Packers didn't have the same type of grade on Queen that you seem to? Detroit is going to eventually back their way into good players because they are consistently terrible and drafting at the top of the 1st round. The Vikings drafted a solid receiver ... one I like a lot. But Gladney profiles as a nickel corner, and their CB room is a dumpster fire right now. Do you honestly think the Vikings will be able to slow down the Packers' offense with Gladney and Mike Hughes/Holton Hill manning the boundaries? Yeah, I have hope for the immediate and long-term future, because the Packers seemingly have smart, gutsy personnel people in place. Could it blow up on them? Sure. But it stands just as good of a chance of working out.
  21. I recently compared Love to Brett Hundley, and not in a good way. I've never wanted to be more wrong. What did you compare? Stat lines? Basically. Both are athletic QBs who had up and down college careers. Love's arm talent is much, much better than Hundley's, though. When I see draftniks say that Love's closest comparable is Mahomes, it does make me a little giddy.
  22. If anything, this gives the Packers a very young, potentially very talented and very affordable backup QB for the next four years. Plus if Rodgers were to go down and Love took over and did well, the Packers could be looking at their own version of the Patriots situation with Brady and Garoppolo.
  23. I am not that concerned about giving up the pick, it is the end of the 4th round and we still have a bunch of day 3 picks to move around and get some players we are targeting as projects to fill out the roster. I am OK with taking a QB too, we have talked about it here and it makes sense with Rodgers age and the need for a quality backup behind him. But thinking more about it this morning and watching some talking heads I am reminded of 2018 and the camera shots of Rodgers and LaFleur on the sidelines last season. Maybe the packers are a little tired of Rodgers and view him as uncoachable, he is not going anywhere this season obviously but he may see the writing on the wall. Will be very interested to see his reaction today. If I'm Rodgers, I lay low for awhile. No good can come from him reacting good or bad today, because if he's positive, people will see him as disingenuous, and if he shows negativity, he's a drama queen. At some point, it's not even worth arguing with the fans who are upset. You just gotta laugh at some of the takes being thrown out there today. It's literally 2005 all over again. Quite appropriate in a year where every day feels like Groundhog Day.
  24. Exactly. The Love pick was aimed at long-term continuity. In the ideal scenario, this adds to the chip on Rodgers's shoulder and the Packers win two Super Bowls over the next three years. Rodgers retires on top, right when Love is ready to step in. The Packers secure yet another decade of elite QB play and everyone in the NFC North is jealous.
