  1. Defensive line really hasn't been talked about as a huge need, but are they really going to go into this season with Tyler Lancaster as one of their starters again? It wouldn't surprise me to see then grab a 3-4 DE early on. Javon Kinlaw (DE, South Carolina) - He probably won't last, but I've seen him drop in a few mocks. Marlon Davidson (DE, Auburn) - He might be there, and would be a good fit as long as he can stick at DE and wouldn't have to move to OLB in the Packers' system. Raekwon Davis (DE, Alabama) - Just a huge dude that would be a nice fit at DE. Freaky good athlete for this size. He's be a bit of a reach at #30, but it wouldn't surprise me.
  2. Isn't that basically how Skynet first gained power?
  3. There's an easy answer to this. Marty Hurney is a terrible GM.
  4. That is a lot of money to pay a RB. I predict they'll run him into the ground in 3 years max. If you thought their offense ran through McCaffrey a lot last year, just wait for this season with Captain Checkdown at the controls.
  5. This thought occured to me today. Bob Uecker is 86 years old, and has multiple underlying health issues that would make him susceptible to this type of virus. Is it possible that we've heard him call his last Brewer game?
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire draft is broadcast on ABC. It's going to get enormous ratings. We are still just under 3 weeks away, and people are already begging for anything resembling normalcy. The only live or new source of any legit information is local and national news, and as we all know, most of that is anything but positive. Watching a bunch of NFL talking heads on a glorified Zoom meeting isn't ideal, but 99.9% of sports fans will gladly drink that down like the smoothest IPA you can find.
  7. Not sure what criteria they used to determine who stayed and who went, but it appears they hung onto their more "controversial" personalities, at the expense of the guys who are more professional.
  8. Dirk was a Buck the same way Eli Manning was a Charger. It was simply a prearranged deal that due to some odd rules was not allowed to be announced until afterwards. The Bucks targeted Traylor, and Dirk was more than likely never on the radar whatsoever.
  9. The drafts are about as fun as watching paint dry even in the current environment. I disagree. Yeah, it's slow moving, but people are going to want to glob onto anything that is actually live and non COVID-related, and not streaming on Netflix. People are going to watch the heck out of the draft, in whatever form it takes.
  10. I live in one of those areas on the border of Oneida and Vilas counties in northern Wisconsin. Oneida County has 3 confirmed cases so far. One is a college student who they think contracted it on a Spring Break trip a few weeks ago. One is a person in their 60s from the Chicago area who drove up to their 2nd home when it started going around Chicago, and likely brought it with them. One is in their 80s, and it is undetermined where they contracted it from. We have roughly 15 ICU beds COMBINED in the two counties. Stay home people!
  11. Cap hit should be approximately $2,265,625. That is a steal for a guy with that kind of potential. If he balls out this year and gets paid next season, Packers recoup up to a 3rd round pick as well.
  12. I would expect Morrison to take Taylor's spot (Taylor going to the DL). If games are slated to start in late May, it is possible that Knebel may start with the big club. That would all depend on what he can do in some sort of abbreviated Spring Training in May.

  14. James Jones played at 6'1", 208 pounds. Funchess is 6'4", 225 pounds. Jones played tough, was strong and got the most out of his size, but they are definitely two very different types of receivers. Funchess was supposed to be more of a Plaxico Burress/Brandon Marshall-type.

  16. Tyler Ervin back on a 1-year deal, per multiple reports. Nice move IMO. He injected some much-needed life into the return game at the end of last season, and I like his speed, wiggle and pass-catching ability as a 3rd down back and perhaps in the slot.

  18. Cephus improved his time to a 4.56 at UW's pro day, so yeah, I'd say what he did at the combine is definitely an aberration. He's certainly not known as a burner either, but no one expected that slow time he put up at the combine. That Pro Day time is probably much more in line with what can be expected from him speed wise.

  20. And ran a 4.47 at Michigan's pro day, just for the record. Yeah, he isn't a burner, but that combine 40 time was considered an aberration at the time, and it still is to this day. But if you don't like the guy, it's an easy number to grab onto. He doesn't really play like a 4.47 guy, either, though. What he is is a huge target with an enormous wingspan who can theoretically create mismatch problems with CBs due to his size, and on safeties and LBs due to his speed. I like Allen Lazard, but Funchess is basically a more talented version of him. The ceiling is higher, but because Lazard seems possibly a little more technically skilled and probably brings better hands to the table, he has a higher floor.

  22. We shalt be saved! Direct from Safer at Home order. 4. Closures. All of the following facilities shall be closed: a. Public and private K-12 schools and public libraries. Except for facilitating distance learning or virtual learning, public and private K-12 schools are closed for pupil instruction and extracurricular activities. Libraries shall close for all in-person services, but may continue to provide on-line services and programming. Schools and public libraries may be used for Essential Government Functions and food distribution. This section does not apply to facilities operated by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections or the Department of Military Affairs including the Challenge Academy. b. Places of public amusement and activity. Whether indoors or outdoors, including but not limited to amusement parks, carnivals, water parks, licensed public or private swimming pools, splash pads, aquariums, zoos, museums, arcades, fairs, children's play centers, playgrounds, funplexes, theme parks, bowling alleys, movie and other theaters, concert and music halls, country clubs, social clubs, and gyms and fitness centers. c. Salons and spas. This includes, but is not limited to, hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, day spas, electrolysis providers, waxing salons, eyebrow-care establishments, tattoo parlors, body art establishments, and tanning facilities. Everybody else, go to work, go to the grocery store, go to the hardware store, go to the auto care shop, go to the laudromat, go to the bank, and make the trip down to Illinois to buy your dope because that is essential although it may not be legal. I have it on good authority that you are much more likely to catch this bug on a golf course than you would a laundromat. Trust me. One question, is there a difference between a tattoo parlor and a body art establishment? Regardless, I'm really glad they listed both for those of us who are unsure. I believe that "body art establishments" are places that typically specialize in piercings.

  24. He had a 63 reception, 840 yard, 8 TD season in 2017, which I'd certainly qualify as good, and it isn't ancient history. A lot of that is volume related. He had 111 targets that year because Newton simply didn't have any other receivers to throw to. His catch % even in that year of 56% was still quite poor. A lot of that can be attributed to Newton, though, too. Cam has never been known as an exceptionally accurate thrower. Even when he was at his best, his value came from his athleticism, capitalizing on broken plays and making quick decisions.
