  1. For #7, I harken back to one of the most exciting times in Brewer history, Easter Sunday 1987. When the (gloriously mustachioed) Dale Sveum had his hero moment.
  2. Skenes going for the Pirates tonight against the Cubs. Hopefully the Pirates can steal one. Shohei on the bump for the Dodgers against the Phillies.
  3. We keep the mustaches rolling, with this morning's pick for #8, veteran infielder Dickie Thon!
  4. Mustache mayhem continues with #9, Joe Oliver!
  5. Continuing with the mustache theme, we have Bob McClure's immaculate handlebar.
  6. Yelich has scalded the ball since he came back. Law of averages would seem to indicate that the bad luck will turn around.
  7. Exactly. If this team's management has proven anything, its that they value production. They aren't going to take a totally unproven arm (Yoho) on the playoff roster over someone who has proven themselves, regardless of potential. Heck, like it or not, Payamps is probably above Yoho in the bullpen pecking order currently, let alone Anderson.
  8. You may want to take a second look at Anderson's numbers this year. He's been very good.
  9. Pretty sure that Murphy announced last night that Chad Patrick was getting the ball for this one.
  10. The '70s and '80s Brewers seriously looked like a group that could have moonlighted as state troopers. The mustaches were that good. For #11, we have utility infielder Ed Romero Thanks again to the Cubs for allowing us to keep the countdown rolling despite a Brewers' loss. So much for Craigtember.
  11. I don't want to sound too confident, but there is a rather rotund lady in the dressing room doing lip trills. 😉
  12. #13 in your programs, #1 in your hearts, Billy Jo Robideux! The Brewers sure did have a lot of big, brooding 1B/DH types in the 80s/90s with phenomenal mustaches, but little in the way of actual MLB talent. #12 is yet another who brought mustache magnificence to Milwaukee, veteran catcher Brian Harper.
  13. That checks out. Suarez is pretty tough overall, but especially so on lefties this season (.497 OPS)
  14. Ortiz started very slow (perhaps the position switch had something to do with it), but he was very good in August, and just turned 27. Unless something crazy happens, I think he has SS locked down for the foreseeable future.
  15. Caleb Durbin vs. RHP AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 270 35 68 18 0 6 35 18 13 35 9 5 .252 .325 .385 .710 Anthony Seigler vs. RHP AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS 58 6 10 1 0 0 5 8 1 15 2 0 .172 .279 .190 .469 Can we please stop this platoon crap and just give the job to Durbin?
  16. For #18, I chose Mr. Nerd Power himself, Eric Sogard #17 is a tough one, since it has been "unofficially" retired for Jimmy Gantner. But here's the player who wore it previously to Gumby, Kenny McMullen. McMullen was a solid 3B who ended his career as a part-time player for the 1977 Brewers.
  17. This was the expected outcome. Hopefully Payamps found something in Nashville and can get back to the very solid reliever he was in 2023 and 2024.
  18. The way this team has played this season, finishing 10-13 would be a pretty monumental disappointment. Considering how they have pretty consistently been able to avoid prolonged skids, I would say it's at least arguably unreasonable.
  19. Good lord ... every team goes through tough stretches in a 162-game season. Lets not start acting like the 2025 Brewers are suddenly bad.
  20. 16-8 .... to push them to 101 wins. That would be pretty sweet.
