  1. Martinez named Scherzer the starter for the Wild Card game. Strasburg and Corbin will be available out of the pen. It would be nice to not have to play in that game if you are the Brewers. If you have to, lets get it in Milwaukee.
  2. Other than Bryant, Rizzo and Heyward, who are all various degrees of hurt, Maddon is trotting out his regular lineup tonight. They've shut down Darvish, which is kind of a bummer, but in the end, no, nothing to see here.
  3. No Bryant, Rizzo or Heyward, but those guys have been pretty much crap lately. Otherwise this is their regular lineup. I think the Cubs are going to give the Cardinals all they can handle this weekend. That said, the Cards have lost two in a row to a team that had nothing to play for. If they let the Brewers sneak into the division title, it's on them.
  4. As early as 2017, some posters here speculated that the Cubs cashed in their chips too early and were headed for a quicker than expected decline. Cubs fans on Twitter and other boards caught wind of those posts and mocked those posters. Well, here we are. Next year will be very interesting. As for this weekend, I have a feeling the Cubs win twice. Health permitting, the Cubs' line-up will be very formidable next year. Bryant, Rizzo, and Baez are legit superstars. They can fill in solid role players around them. It's their pitching that is a huge question mark. Other than Darvish and Hendricks, they don't have much of anything coming back.
  5. HiAndTight, these two guys agree with each other. FVBrewerFan is saying that despite the PI, the Packers deserve to wear the loss. yourout is agreeing with him.
  6. I would bet that the vast majority of those younger guys like Caratini, Bote, Kemp and the rest don't feel that way. I'm personally glad its going to be those guys carrying the torch this weekend. Energy guys with no expectations can be very dangerous.
  7. This team is still a playoff-caliber team. Not elite. But this team is still a much improved squad from last season.
  8. Punch it in running the ball. Might need an O-Line who can maul and run block to do that. The way the running game was going tonight, they were just as likely to lose 4 yards as they were to punch it in there.
  9. Yeah, throwing a slant into major traffic is a major high-risk play. Not a good decision there by Rodgers.
  10. That'll do it. Sometimes it doesn't bounce your way.
  11. Smart play with the run there.
  12. Rodgers is going to throw for 500 tonight if this goes OT.
  13. Accuracy has been vintage Rodgers.
  14. After how well I saw us try to score 4 times from the 1 yard line, I'll take my chances playing for OT. Exactly ... this team is not built for short yardage, especially with Williams out.
  15. They do .... they take's the flag away when they don't have any more.
  16. The offense has moved the ball with ease tonight though the air.
  17. Or the eagles decide to pass Jordan Howard going down may have saved them. Must not trust the rookie.
  18. If Dean Lowry hadn't been called for that foul, you may have forgotten he's even playing tonight.
  19. Run defense is an absolute embarrassment tonight.
  20. This team is never going to be a power running team, especially not with Williams out. Jones is a good back, but he's not a pounder. Plus the O-Line is getting their lunch handed to them tonight.
  21. Crap!!!! That was bad. Very bad. Losing Bulaga is turning into the turning point of this game.
  22. You have to at least lay a hand on Brandon Graham there.
  23. Now THAT is an easy PI call.
  24. Yep. But no, we get an Antonio Morrison clone in Goodson off the scrap heap.
  25. Eagles dirty play is going to cost them in this game.
