  1. Man, what a performance from Woody! We have sure come a long way from the "Might as well shut him down, because this team isn't going anywhere" talk.

  3. I think Cain actually looks better than Braun. I'm sure if it were the regular season Braun would have gone on the 10-day IL.
  4. Does anyone else use AT&T Now (TV over internet service)? My feed is horribly behind, almost 89 seconds. Anyone else have this issue? I'm using Playstation Vue ... yeah, at least a minute behind.
  5. This is exactly what they needed. Ambush Scherzer and get runs on the board before they start thinking about getting Strasburg in.
  6. I think they try to get 4 out of Woody tonight. Also ... LOL to those of you who thought the Brewers would get shut out.
  7. Heck, a lot of their "fans" don't even believe in them. I’m always reminded of that scene in Major League during the montage of the Tribe turning their season around, but the grounds crew putting the batters boxes on the field are unimpressed and mutter “They’re still [expletive].” That’s Brewers Twitter. And every IGT after a loss. I predict we'll see a lot of "well I'm glad to be wrong" come about 10:30 tonight. I'll say 4-2 good guys. Brewers get an early lead on the back of a Moose HR, and we bite all the nails as the pen tries to hang on.
  8. I actually think Grandal has been pretty solid throwing this season. It's passed balls that have sort of been an issue.
  9. I think they were kind of banking on Kumerow being that guy, but he's been hurt.
  10. I've also heard Patrick Peterson (CB), Corey Davis (WR) and A.J. Green (WR) mentioned other places. Not sure if there's a great need for a WR myself. I think Valdes-Scantling and Allison have looked pretty good. Peterson makes a lot of sense if he can be had for a mid-round pick.
  11. What? If he looks awful he will most definitely get pulled. It's not like they need him to 6. They are trying to win one game just like us. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it would be very difficult for a manager to pull someone like Max Scherzer in the 3rd inning if he's in a 2 on 2 out situation and already allowed a couple runs. It of course is probably smart, but I'm just not sure they'd make that move. I could of course be wrong, but I feel like that would be a reeeeeeeeally tough move to explain later. Especially if whatever reliever he picked allowed the next guy to hit a HR or something(I assume Strasburg wouldn't come in in the middle of an inning...probably use a matchup reliever to get the out and let Stras start the 4th). Another thing to consider is that it will likely take Strasburg or Corbin longer to get warmed up than your typical reliever, so if the Brewers do start to ambush Scherzer, it'll be a little bit before he can be pulled. Don't forget that Corbin threw 94 pitches on Saturday while getting slapped around by the Indians. Throwing your huge starting pitching signing out there on 3 days rest may not be the best idea. I think he's there "in case of emergency" guy.
  12. Obviously the Brewers didn't/couldn't have seen Braun's PED stuff coming when they signed him to that massive deal. When the news/drama/suspension went down, it appeared that the Brewers were going to be dealt a terrible hand and be stuck with an albatross of a contract. The fact that Braun has continued to be a productive bat late into the deal has salvaged much of the negative value the team was looking at several years ago. While it's safe to say that the PED stuff has cast a bit of a shadow on that "face of the franchise"-type contract, the fact that the production helps justify it I think can be seen as a win by this point.
