  1. A reliever. They were operating with a 12-man pitching staff, and Counsell loves having 13 available. Pretty big stretch of games with no off days coming up.
  2. That horse is still twitching. You keep on beating that thing until it's a pulp! Let me ask you, are you satisfied with the rotation right now?? Is it division winning quality to you?? I'll hang up and listen to your answer I think you should probably hang up and turn off the radio. Maybe take a walk. Am I satisfied? It is what it is. The Brewers possibly don't have the prospect depth to get the high-end starter you seem to crave, and even if they did, they'd be emptying the farm for one guy, when they can probably use two or three. It's a crappy situation to be in, but that's baseball. They need to hope that the fill-in starters perform up to par, the pen reinforcements come in and catch lighting in a bottle, and for gosh sakes, the line-up needs to score some runs. Then we can talk about winning the division.

  4. Maybe? Black is 29. If he has that much potential, what is taking him so long to stick bigs? Pretty sure he's had a couple TJ surgeries.
  5. Braves close to acquiring Shane Greene. I hope Detroit holds them over a barrel on the asking price. So sick of hearing about the Braves vaunted young pitching, then see them steal, beg and pillage for any arm they can get.
  6. Controllable through 2024. First arb eligible in 2022
  7. Deal was for Pomeranz and Ray Black, not just Pomeranz lol. lol. lol. Yeah that makes the trade so much better. Rather than replenishing the farm system with Moose/Grandal returns Still an hour left ... those moves could still happen. None of the moves made are "all in" moves.
  8. Deal was for Pomeranz and Ray Black, not just Pomeranz lol. lol. lol.
  9. I like the upside, but would be much more excited about this move if DJ was doing the teaching.
  10. Are you suggesting Tanner Roark was the solution? He really isn't very good either. No absolutely not, I just added that on to my post...but getting NO rotation help is an absolute Joke. Still an hour and 20 minutes to go. Again ... hold tight.
  11. Where is the upside? 5.73 FIP this year, 5.08 last year. Walks a ton of guys and isn't anywhere close to being a closer. Another hugely under-whelming move by Stearns. It's almost like he pitched over half of his career innings in 2016 with pretty decent results (80 ERA-/97 FIP-). Is there a reason you're intentionally leaving that out? I can answer that ... every post this guy makes is critical of the Brewers. Every one of them.
  12. You let me know when Wilson touches 100 mph, as Black does regularly, and I'll take this seriously.
  13. Where is the upside? 5.73 FIP this year, 5.08 last year. Walks a ton of guys and isn't anywhere close to being a closer. Another hugely under-whelming move by Stearns. A guy with upside for a player who was likely a goner after this year, if not sooner. It's a minor move. Unbunch them undies.
  14. Black also has a ton of control .... and a huge fastball.
  15. Latest rumor is Aguilar to Rays for Jake Faria, a guy who has moved between AAA and the big leagues (5.73 FIP this year 5.08 last year) and who has under performed. Another hugely under whelming move by Stearns. You are way behind on this ... LOL And also probably wrong.
  16. Brewers got Ray Black too
  17. He's been very good since moving to the pen, but still, that seems a little underwhelming.
  18. Not Will Smith either. Gotta be Dyson.
  19. Will Smith would be hugely significant for 2019.
  20. Not MadBum, according to Twittersphere
  21. Dubon is a significant piece to give up for a rental.
  22. @ByRobertMurray · 57s #Brewers and #SFGiants in agreement on significant trade, sources tell The Athletic. Mauricio Dubon to San Francisco. For Smith?
  23. @JasonKinander · 1h #Brewers, #Nationals, and #Braves are the teams most aggressively targeting #WhiteSox Alex Colome, sources say. Colome has good superficial numbers, but the peripherals are somewhat concerning. Still, a solid late inning pen arm who is under control next year. I assume cost would be pretty high though.
