  1. This aged well. In cosmic terms. Touche. Between this and the trade deadline, I'm going to be useless at the office tomorrow.
  2. That was not an inspiring inning of offense against a guy who has been getting slapped around lately.
  3. Good Freddy is really fun to watch. What we are seeing tonight isn't Good Freddy.
  4. Who’s the .225 hitter? Saladino has been playing 3rd since Braun pinch hit for Shaw. Jesus was in the on-deck circle when Thames was up.
  5. Last two appearances Fastball Freddy has been Gopher Ball Freddy. Not good.
  6. Dang it. Freddy grooved that one to a guy you don't want to groove one to. Shoot.
  7. Most contenders haven't done anything yet. You're gonna see fast and furious tomorrow.
  8. Has Counsell finally figured out how to effectively use Claudio? The guy is basically a LOOGY.
  9. I guess what few of them are actually there. The A's have a very good team, and there is nobody in those seats tonight . Granted it's a Tuesday night, and the Brewers likely aren't a huge road draw, but still ....
  10. Harrison broke out in 2017. He's a multi-tool prospect. It takes these ranking services a while to catch up. The fact is the prospect shine dulled a bit on Grisham over the last few years. He has obviously rebuilt it, but I think he is probably up on the ML team before he makes any sort of Top 100 list. Exactly. They have to cover 30 teams and thousands of prospects. So he's not rated in the top 100. That's fine. But people then use those rankings too often as gospel. What's everyone do when you hear about a trade for someone you don't know? You go to MLBPipeline or whatever site and see where they rank on their prospect lists. It's a tool, it's not the absolute authority. On top of that, I am 99.9% certain that these prospect lists don't come into play whatsoever in trade talks and deals within MLB front offices. Nor does the team's Baseball America farm ranking.
  11. Exactly. Hader and Peralta can be depended upon, and Houser was solid out there before shift back to the rotation. All the other guys are extremely hot and cold. They could really use at least one more solid set-up arm out there. It will be interesting to see where Lyles eventually slots in. I think his stuff plays better in the pen.
  12. I’m sure Oakland will score again. Always a fairly safe bet with Albers pitching, sadly. Albers would be just fine as a #5-6 guy in the pen. Asking him to be your #2-3 guy and take leverage innings every time out is asking a lot.
  13. So ... any bats this team can trade for tomorrow? This showing has been pretty pathetic. Actually, I know they took 2 of 3, but the offense was crap against the Cubs too. Too much talent underperforming.
  14. Houser has to be starting tomorrow I would think. Bigger question.....who goes down? Really don't need a 5 man bench I think Lyles probably makes the start tomorrow, but I doubt he's a long-termer in the rotation. I think his ultimate future for the rest of this season is as a pen arm. No idea who is going to get the boot. Who knows ... after tomorrow there might be several roster moves that need to be made.
  15. I almost wonder if Lyles was acquired to effectively take Houser's role in the pen? I mean, after tonight, you pretty much have to leave Houser in the rotation, right?
  16. Hell of a spot start from Houser tonight. Easily his best start of the season. That guy has the chance to be really solid.
  17. Yeah ... there is too much talent in this lineup to so consistently not hit opposing starting pitchers. I have a hard time understanding it too.
  18. He exercised his out clause, likely because the Phillies offered him a major league deal. Just really crappy timing for the Brewers, as he'd easily be in the rotation now.
  19. Thank you so much for bringing back Coach Cooper... I have missed him, even though he would call me a pansy for admitting that in a public forum. Nah, you'd be fine. Ole' Coop always had a soft spot for the troubled ones
