  1. It appears the Packers will be picking at #12 at worst. Could be as high as #10, depending on the outcome of the Bengals and Broncos games.
  2. 31-0 game, and the Lions' 12-year veteran top-3 paid QB is still out there.
  3. What gets me is why this game, for all intents and purposes an exhibition game, is important enough to play in but yet he plays about 8 snaps every pre-season and it typically shows early on in the season. I agree, and I really hope that changes with a new regime. There needs to be more leadership and accountability from the QB. And I'm typically a big Rodgers apologist.
  4. For a player hyped with having tremendous ball skills going into the draft, Josh Jackson has been a disappointment. A guy like him needs good ball skills, because he doesn't have the speed to make up for it like Alexander has.
  5. Kizer > Brett Hundley Granted, that is not saying much. It will be interesting to see how Boyle matures.
  6. Valdez-Scantling is 6'4" and runs a 4.3 40, yet he has been overthrown on every deep ball all season. And he is open on every one of them. I don't understand how that is even possible.
  7. I am having a hard time deciding what I think of Kyler Fackrell. He seems to be washed out an awful lot, but gives a solid effort and seems like a good team guy. His sack total is a little misleading, as he's had a couple 3-sack games that has padded the total. Still, he's providing more than Matthews, at a fraction of the cost. I don't think he is ever going to be a player you have to game plan for, though.
  8. Really? How many games did he play there? Jesus at 3B would be a total nightmare. Imagine that infield for 2 months... By that time, we may have played our way out of the playoffs. But, but ...... but DINGERS!!!
  9. It bothers me that "Packers" hasn't been painted in the end zones at Lambeau all season. Seems incredibly lazy to me.
  10. Backup players are NFL players too. But Rodgers is out now. I'm sure you are happy. Actually, I'm guessing that you aren't.
  11. Effort level is pretty lacking today both offensively and defensively. I think we're going to see a pretty major roster turnover this offseason. It's going to be exciting to see what a GM that is actually interested in player acquisition other than through the draft and UDFA can do with a large amount of cap room at his disposal.
  12. Packer fans are so spoiled. Get into a situation where an end of season game doesn't have playoff indications, and the games don't matter? Well, it matters to the Lions, who are trying to end the season on a good note for Patricia. It matters for the young guys on the Packers that are getting extended play. It matters for Philbin and the rest of the coaching staff who are coaching for jobs next year. It matters to the fans that still paid a high price to be sitting in that cold stadium today. Saying that the game doesn't matter is a joke.
  13. Because I want to watch Twirly's head explode
  14. NFL isn't the NBA. Teams don't tank for draft picks.
  15. I doubt that Jesus was pushing three bills when he was playing 3B regularly.
  16. It's a fair point here, and as much as the Brewers get by with creativity, I don't think radical ideas should be so quickly dismissed. With that being said, it's pretty much been said by both the Brewers and Braun that he is never moving back to 3B. As far as Aguilar goes, I could see him getting plugged in for an occasional game or two at 3rd as he was last season to get his bat in the lineup. On a regular basis however I seriously doubt that Aguilar at 3rd would be considered given his defensive limitations. I get that it happened with Shaw, but I think they simply saw it as a unique situation, rather than a green light now to shuffle players at will. Exactly. The idea of moving your sure-handed and athletic 3B to 2B has much more credence than moving your lumbering nearly 300-pound 1B to 3B. Just because Shaw played 2B doesn't mean that it's fair game on putting guys wherever you want. I'm all for creativity in the lineup and defensively, but the idea that Jesus is going to play 3B on a regular basis is just too far out there to make any logical sense.
  17. Stop with the Jesus to 3b nonsense. It's not going to happen, nor should it. Agreed. The Playstation-level player moving gets pretty old. Shaw playing 2B worked out to a degree, but an infield of Aguilar/Arcia/Shaw/Thames would be catastrophically bad, no matter now good Arcia is out there on D.
  18. The Yankees best be lowering their demands then. I'd give up a Stokes-level prospect, but that's about it.
  19. I take your point and tend to agree, but it's worth noting that when Bollinger sat, Mike Samuel led them to a Rose Bowl Win. Hell, I could have handed the ball off to Ron Dayne that year and led them to a Rose Bowl win.
  20. I'm hoping they don't do the Wisconsin thing and keep Mertz on the scout team all season. They did the same thing years ago with Bollinger, even though it was obvious he was the best QB on the team. If Mertz is the other-worldly talent he is being hyped as, he should play in 2019. There is no way Hornibrook and Coan are the types of talents that should keep him down.
  21. Rodgers sat last season even though he played week before (Week 16) to its conclusion. So he quit on his team last season? Funny how the narrative changes from year to year, yet the situation is relatively the same. Glad he wants to play and all that..... management simply should go with their young guys. I'm not really arguing that it's what I want to happen. Just saying it's what I think will happen. I'd be very, very surprised if Rodgers doesn't play the whole game. They have given no indication that shutting Rodgers down is even a consideration this year. I do agree that it is a similar situation to Game 17 last year, though.
  22. Caldwell would quite possibly be the least inspiring hire they could possibly make. Well, besides Philbin of course. I think he's simply a "fulfill the Rooney Rule" token interview. Pagano is a little more interesting, but I think they can do better.
  23. Rodgers won't sit. No way, no how. Maybe some younger guys get a little more time, but most every healthy vet will play. The NFL isn't the NBA. Teams don't tank. I can see the value in losing the game, though, as it may be the difference between a top 10 pick and one in the mid teens.
  24. The problem with Perez is that he's shown little to no improvement through what should be his prime years. He's basically the same player he was when the Brewers first acquired him. While he does have value as a versatile super sub, that lack of improvement has made him the type of player that good teams are consistently looking to replace. It will eventually get to the point where he's going to cost to much in arbitration to justify what he provides to the team. He gets closer to that breaking point every year.
  25. Davis was emerging as one of the top power bats in all of baseball in the second half of 2015, his last year as a Brewer. His success with Oakland was foreseeable. I don't see Santana anywhere near that, and yet Brewers got back more for Santana. Davis also makes Santana look like Willie Mays in the OF. He should never touch OF grass again. I know you didn't like that trade (obviously), but to hope Nottingham and Derby fail so you can be proven right is a bit much.
