  1. They shopped him all day today. He's basically #53 right now. He's trash as a receiver, and while he's fast, he's skinny as a rail, and goes down easy in the return game. If they claim anyone, he's likely gone. Montgomery or one of the wideouts can return kicks, and Alexander or Cobb punts.
  2. Trevor Davis will be gone sometime tomorrow I think. They will likely claim a RB and maybe an OLB on waivers.
  3. Rotation depth. Probably redundant now, though, with Gonzalez and Davies coming back. I'm sure he's next on the list.
  4. I agree. Bears are slowly putting a really good core in place. NFC North might be the best division in football. Depending on the price, this may be the first major "swing and a miss" for Gute. I mean I get it if the Bears give them two firsts because they would be better picks for the Raiders but if it’s something cheap, I’ll be ticked. Rapoport saying it's two 1sts (assuming 2019 and 2020) plus more from the Bears. If that's the case ... wow! Really mortgaging the future. Those could both potentially be at least mid 1st round picks.

  6. Means nothing. They probably thought he was a catcher when that came out. Honestly, our own poll is more current/ accurate than MLB pipeline. Their list is current. They update it all the time. Our list has him in the top 30 as well. Not even close. #41 viewtopic.php?f=64&t=37395 This is what he meant.
  7. 7 if you count the Jordan Lyles claim. I agree ... that's a lot of turnover for a team that has been near the top of the standings all season. I love that they aren't being complacent, though. Going to make for an exciting September.
  8. Hopefully they sneak Thompson through. I like his arm. I can't imagine anyone is going to grab Brooks. If they do, oh well I guess. He has pitched well at AAA though.
  9. I had questioned why they didn't do that very same thing. They'd need to put him on the 25-man roster to do it, and he would collect service ML time. That is an option, though.
  10. What type of posts? Thames is better than Braun offensively and defensively it is not that wide of a margin. Even with Thames bad defense in the OF he is still a better player than Braun is right now. I think both Thames and Braun to get hot in September and make the choice a moot point.
  11. Well Orf was already DFA'd off the 40-man for Cedeno. Gonna have to make two more cuts for Gonzalez and Granderson. That is going to be rough. If I were Jordan Lyles or Jake Thompson, I wouldn't feel super comfortable. A lot needs to play out yet before they need to worry about a playoff roster. I bet they just bring up Nottingham now as a 3rd catcher, though, rather than try to create another roster spot for Bandy or Bethancourt.
  12. Are you secretly Ken Rosenthal? Good call! I am HighHeat19 Awesome! So ... when is Alex Cobb getting here?
  13. I thought the package the Yankees gave up for McCutcheon was a ton better than anything the Brewers gave up today. He's not good either. I was hoping the return would equal the kind of nothing prospect they gave up for Neil Walker last year, but really, what they gave wasn't a whole lot more than that. And the guys they got fill specific holes. They just need to hope that Gio and Granderson get hot in a pennant race, and Cedeno's numbers aren't smoke and mirrors.

  15. I imagine Granderson is going to see most of his time in RF and as a bat off the bench. Kind of makes it look like they aren't expecting much from Domingo Santana this year, too.
  16. Good sleuthing. That would make perfect sense. Toolsy guy that more than likely will never put it together.
  17. Brewers postgame still talking Gio. That was SOOO 15 minutes ago
  18. That would make me sad. A ball prospect means Appleton. Get ready for some overreaction regardless of who it is.
  19. I have to say, this is fun! Moose, Soria, Gonzalez, Granderson. Too bad it isn't 2012! Still, this is gonna be one heck of a ride in September.
  20. Nice! Now we can sign Steve Nebraska. Man, he's gotta be pretty seasoned by now.
  21. Well Cubbies just lost in the 10th, so that's one! Although Phillies winning doesn't help the Wild Card race. I think if the Brewers stay hot, the Cubs are catchable though
