  1. And what do we do with him in 2019 and 2020? Ride him as our #2 to back-to-back WS championships, of course! *partially blue, but just because I've always like Zim.
  2. Of course the offense is finally breaking out of their funk at the same time the pitchers starting throwing batting practice. Because Brewers.
  3. They needed two solid pitching performances. Guerra and Peralta instead laid two large, rotten eggs. It's time to end this "bullpenning" crap and put your best starting pitching candidates in the rotation. That means Burnes and, yes, likely Hader
  4. I think he just doesn't want to give up the whole farm to get pitching. There'd be nothing left if they traded Burnes, Peralta, and Hiura That's where the inability to develop home-grown guys like Wily Peralta, Jungmann, Jorge Lopez, and the like has really burned them. All guys with terrific stuff and potential, but flamed out for whatever reason.
  5. If Soria and Hader are giving up rockets what would you suggest he do? Tonight, didn’t need to go to the pen in the 5th. I’m even willing to guess Hader didn’t warm up that long. Players are the ones who need to come through but CC hasn’t put his team in a great position lately either. What if he leaves Peralta in and he continues to get knocked around? Then it's "Why didn't you go to the pen?!?" Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. But it was obvious that Peralta didn't have it, and that had the makings of a potential blow-up inning. Unfortunately, it ended up being one anyway.
  6. Woodruff has been bounced back and forth over two seasons, while Freddy has been given a game every 5 days. And after tonight's stinker, their stats are going to look pretty dang similar.
  7. 5 ERs in 4 1/3. That's another game in the oops category. Peralta mixes electric outings with stinkers. That is the definition of a pitcher who isn't ready.
  8. Two game giving up 7 runs. One giving up 4. Otherwise 3 runs or less in the rest of his starts. “Couple” seems like the right word to me. He's also had many, many more opportunities than Woodruff for some reason. Gah I hate Scooter Gennett.
  9. Tells you what they think of Woodruff. I know ... that doesn't make the decision any less curious, though. There must be something internal, because based on pure stuff, there aren't many pitchers in the system that have better than Woodruff.
  10. I know the experience he's getting is good. Just tough to give it to him with a playoff-contending team. Well we are facing one of the options to replace him. So... yeah. Grass isn’t always greener and this guy could be a keeper for years to come. These opportunities for Milwaukee haven’t come that much. I expect Burnesnext season to get a chance too and won’t complain if there are times he looks like a rookie. I just think it's kinda junky that they have stuck with Peralta despite his blow-up games, yet really haven't given Woodruff any sort of chance to establish himself in the rotation this year. Pretty curious decision.
