  1. I just received an email that my account was locked due to security reasons. I'm guessing that is stemming from my initial issues logging in a few days ago, but odd to receive the email now, considering my account is currently operational.
  2. I think it's Voit's injury history that scares me the most. That and the fact that the Yankees have literally been trying to replace him ever since he hit their lineup.
  3. If those were the options, I'd prefer Davis. He's younger, more versatile defensively, and I like his upside and prospect pedigree a little more. I view Voit as more of a "flash in the pan" type.
  4. Have to say, it's a little disappointing that all these contenders are getting in on the Athletics' fire sale, but the Brewers are apparently sitting it out. Olson, Chapman and Bassit all would have been nice. I still get the feeling that the Brewers have one big surprise move in them yet, but watching all these studs move around is a little troubling.
  5. Schwarber hits dingers, strikes out a ton, and will likely bat .220. He feels like the kind of guy this team has pursued for years, to varying success. Considering what he is likely going to get paid, I'm ok with him not being here.
  6. I read this, and Trevor Story flashed across my mind.
  7. I would be willing to bet that in his mind (considering how his mind works), he's doing the team a favor by deciding to come back and not retire.
  8. Given Lazard's role and importance in the offense, especially considering MVS's likely departure, it's kind of a toss-up to me. They've whiffed on plenty of 2nd rounders.
  9. Being a contemporary of Tom Brady might be the worst thing to ever happen to Aaron Rodgers, simply because the comparisons are inevitable. I think we need to conclude that Tom Brady is very much his own animal (or robot/alien), and also married to a spouse that is worth more than him. Sure, I wish Rodgers would sign for $20 million every year, but I don't really fault him for not doing that.
  10. That isn't accurate. It is very much cap-friendly for 2022 and 2023, maybe 2024. That's the window. Things will be ugly for awhile after that, but that was expected.
  11. Looking at the terms of Rodgers' new deal, it appears it is set up to tie him to the Packers for the next three years, through his age 40-41 season. Interesting that they have chosen "the road not taken" from back in 2008. My guess is Jordan Love sticks around as the backup this season, then is dealt next offseason.
  12. I believe the Brewers brought him back last year with the thought that the universal DH would also be back. I'm actually sort of surprised they had no interest in him this year considering the DH now appears permanent. I suppose his skillset is somewhat redundant with Tellez's, though.
  13. Obviously if Hiura makes the team, he's the backup 1B. Otherwise I'm guessing Brousseau and Peterson will see time there. I suppose it is possible they could look at Rizzo or Colin Moran. Or Freddie Freeman. Let's get weird.
  14. Except he bats righty and has more power. Not gonna bring near the defense JBJ brought, though.
  15. Solid vet. Good clubhouse guy. Can play all 3 OF spots. Not super inspiring, but not a terrible guy to have around. Should see quite a bit of time with the age/injury issues in the OF.
  16. Not to the Brewers. They obviously dig versatility and guy who can play defense. Makes me wonder why they even drafted guys like Fry and Dillard.
  17. Reds got pillaged on that deal. Dumpster fire of an organization gonna dumpster fire.
  18. This is a team that values versatility and baserunning. McCutchen can play all 3 OF positions, and will likely come much cheaper than Soler. Schwarber is going to sign a huge deal, can't play D, and is going to strike out a ton while hitting .220.
  19. I don't get it right now, but this team regularly zigs when everyone is thinking zag, so who knows?
  20. Definitely a troll account
  21. I think Crosby is probably a goner as well. He's been good for a long time, but his cost probably outweighs his value at this point.
  22. Welcome guys! 1.) Where are you from? From Peshtigo, about 45 miles north of Green Bay in extreme northeast Wisconsin. Now live in the Eagle River area, in extreme north central Wisconsin. Apparently I like snow. 2.) Age Range? 41 3.) How long have you been frequenting BrewersFan.net? Since college. So over 20 years. 4.) Highest level of baseball/softball played? Frosh year of high school. Slow pitch bar league through my 20s. Now a gum-chewing Little League/Pre League coach. 5.) Favorite Brewers Player, and favorite underappreciated Brewers player, and if you want, favorite current Brewers player? Favorite Brewers player of all time is easy ... Robin Yount. Favorite underappreciated player is an odd one ... Tyler Houston. Although he was a apparently a jerk. Favorite current Brewer is Luis Urias. I dig the scrappy. 6.) Favorite Twitter follows? Hmm ... Haudricourt was always a fun follow if you dig controversy. Robert Murray is still great, and was awesome when he was covering the Brewers. Sammon is good. 7.) Other interests outside of baseball. I coach baseball and football, which takes up a ton of time. Enjoy fishing and outdoor sports. 8.) Favorite part of BrewerFan.net... That is is sane, and isn't full of moronic hot takes by posters just looking to create waves. Yeah, the takes do heat up from time to time, but most are respectful, and the dummies tend to get weeded out pretty quickly.
  23. Yeah, I know those versatile bat-first guys are your boys. Probably doesn't bode real well for Weston Wilson's and especially Thomas Dillard's future with the Brewers.
  24. Either the Brewers really like Mejia as a long-term pen arm, and not just an organizational guy with a slight chance of making the team, or they view Fry as the type who is only going to top out as a AAAA-type player. Otherwise this doesn't make a ton of sense.
  25. Sweet! It appears to work. So much brightness these eyes are not used to, though!
