  1. Can I ship the testosterone directly to the Yelich residence, or should I use a middle man?
  2. Such an odd show. I can't decide if its a comedy or a drama. All I know is that it's addicting.
  3. Matt Patricia says "hold my beer!" https://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/PatrMa0.htm
  4. [sarcasm]Yeah, thanks for the help... [/sarcasm] I'm pretty sure I understood he didn't want to sign Bush or Janis specifically. They represented special teams specialists that mainly were useful as gunners on coverage teams. I'm also pretty sure that my point was that our biggest problems wouldn't have been solved by specialists LIKE Janis or Bush. I guess it was moreso the idea of having players like Janis and Bush on the roster. Guys who were there predominantly for their special teams work. They key is getting several players on that side of the ball who take pride in knowing their assignments and their teammates' assignments. Not random rookie 6th round picks who are only on the team because the team invested a draft pick in them.
  5. Great player. But he passed away in 2015. Are you just bringing him up for the heck of it?
  6. This is a fantastic hire - frankly I'm shocked he isn't still the head coach of the Raiders. His players seem to absolutely love him. He will be a selling point for bringing in free agents.
  7. This aren't going to get a guy like Bisaccia unless they commit to supplying him with quality personnel. Could we FINALLY be seeing a change in philosophy when it comes to how they approach special teams? Perhaps it will no longer be looked at as the Black Sheep of the organization. Beyond our long snapper issues, I tend to think most of the issues were more coaching and coordination of teams. It isn't like the guys we had out there were terrible athletes. They just weren't working together to block or tackle.... more like a bunch of guys out there running around together. To a point. Most teams with solid special teams have a few veteran guys whose focus is for the most part on that part of the game. The Packers, at least the last several seasons, have not employed players like that. Instead they have populated their special teams units with young, relatively inexperienced players. Sure, fine athletes. But they are developmental guys. You need a few rocks to hold each special teams unit in place. The Packers of several years ago employed players like Jarrett Bush and Jeff Janis specifically for special teams duty. Sure, those guys would sometimes get pressed into duty on offense or defense, but they were making the team every year, and getting paid because they were great special teamers. They need to get back to that.

  9. This is a bad look for the players' union IMO. It points to the idea that they were afraid a federal mediator (who would be paid to be a neutral party) would not give the players everything they are looking for, in effect siding with MLB.
  10. Here's the confirmation:
  11. Pretty sure I saw Haudricourt mention #25 somewhere, but I could be mistaken.
  12. Nashville is awesome. If I had unlimited funds and could live anywhere I wanted, it would probably be the place I'd pick. If Rodgers is building a house there, it likely has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to play for the Titans.
  13. Pretty much an uncontroversial, milquetoast pick. Boring. Considering the negative attention that has followed Dan Snyder throughout his tenure as owner, I'm sure that's exactly what they were going for. They missed a grand opportunity IMO by not going with "Red Tails". That would have been a phenomenal pick with historical significance and great branding opportunities. But the racists would have been up in arms, and I get the feeling the racist undercurrent in the NFL is stronger than most realize.
  14. While it may not be a probable outcome, there is certainly more than a zero chance that Jordan Love could lead a playoff squad. Especially a defense and run-heavy squad, which is certainly where it seems Lafleur would like to go. Particularly with how the NFC North will look next season I distinctly remember a lot of very similar consternation back in 2008 when Rodgers took over. It certainly didn't take "years" for the Packers to be a contender again. One 6-10 year in 2008 with a bunch of close, last-second type losses. Then back up to 11-5 in 2009. Now I'm not saying this is guaranteed to happen again, but well-run organizations do not stay in the basement long, and I believe the Packers to be very well run.

  16. Yes and no. From the start of the new NFL league year in early March until the first week of the regular NFL season in September, only the 51 most expensive contracts actually count against a team’s salary cap. That means those guys who signed "futures" deals will only be counted against the cap until their deals are replaced by free agent signings and draft pick signings.
  17. I wonder if they'll wait around to see who is chosen as the new head coach in New Orleans, and whether Darren Rizzi will be retained as their Special Teams coach? Rizzi should have been the choice a few years ago (Lafleur's first season), but the Packers lowballed him. Bet they won't make that mistake again if given the opportunity.
  18. This is spot on, and how teams like the Chiefs and Rams have been skirting salary cap issues for years. When you read about teams getting in "salary cap hell" it is typically because they are mismanaged and give our horrible contracts that they cannot get out of. The Packers, on the other hand, are very deftly managed financially when it comes to guaranteeing money beyond a player's signing bonus. That's why they are not nearly in the financial straits that some other teams have put themselves in.
  19. Amazed? I think what you describe here is basically spot on on what will likely happen. Adams will either be playing for the Packers next year under the Franchise Tag, under a new contract, or they'll tag and trade him for a solid return (if Rodgers decides to move on). I would be absolutely amazed if they let him get to unrestricted free agency. In my mind, there is a <0% chance of that happening. I think you are taking the salary cap way more seriously than what it should be taken. They'll have to get creative, but there are several stories out there now that describe how exactly they can do it without gutting the entire team. Yes, a few guys will not be back next year, but if Rodgers and Adams want to come back, the Packers can make that happen while putting a solid core around them.
  20. Team owners obviously don't like or care about their fans. Players obviously don't appreciate their fans. Why should we as fans continue throwing money at these guys?
  21. Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein Maurice Drayton will not return as #Packers special teams coordinator, a source said. Story to come shortly. Not surprising in the least, but this will reassure those of you who were upset that it didn't happen immediately.
  22. As someone with the experience of working in the media for nearly 20 years, I think that is very much easier said than done.
  23. It's already out there in multiple media properties that if the Packers don't sign Adams to an extension before the tag deadline, they are 100% going to find a way to tag him. If Rodgers comes back, it would assuredly be under a restructured deal to free up space. If Rodgers retires or is dealt, that frees up money to tag Adams. But if that happened, Adams would likely be tagged and dealt. Absolutely no way they let him get to unrestricted free agency and allow him to walk for only a 2023 compensatory 3rd.
  24. Williams to USC is official:
  25. Ashby might have a tick or so more on his FB, but otherwise he and Small have a very similar prospect trajectory, IMO. Small has dang fine minor league numbers to back it up, too.
