They played the abbreviated 2020 season with a DH. I don't see why they'd wait a year to throw it in if part of the new CBA. -
I agree to a point, but when you have two guys (Brady and Rodgers) who could potentially win the award, and one has been a distraction to his team based on what he has done, or has been doing in his personal life (the vax drama, and the "I might not play this year tantrums) then I think it plays into the final decision. Does a true MVP (Most Valuable Player) act like that and put extra stress on the team for his ridiculous actions? It would be one thing if Rodgers was heads and tails above Brady in stats, leadership, etc, but that isn't the case. In fact, I don't think there is a single player in the entire NFL that provides more presence and leadership than Tom Brady. I can fully understand why a voter would take the Rodgers drama and have it be a strike against him. His childish behaviors did in fact cause distraction to the team, which in my eyes, if you have 2 guys to pick from, neither a cut above the other, then the Rodgers crap has to work against him imo Granted it was never made public like the Rodgers crap was, but if you believe that there was never any similar type drama concerning Brady and his last few years in New England, and the time that Garappolo was drafted to eventually succeed him, you are probably fooling yourself. He is likely not the saint you're making him out to be. I also think situations like that happen far more behind the scenes than most fans realize.

Forgive me for potentially being ignorant, but is one station's fuel really better than another's? I was kind of always under the assumption that most stations were supplied with fuel by a few major suppliers, and they all essentially get and sell the same product? Perhaps I'm WAY off base ...

Well, we really don't know this. Anyone who torches and abandons their own immediate family has far more going on behind the scenes than any of us can know with certainty. I know quite a few people who have "torched and abandoned their immediate family" for various reasons ... some justified and some not. I don't know if that situation can be used to determine if someone is a "bad person" or not. Those situations are typically extremely complicated, and are very rarely one-way streets.

I don't know if your friend is 100% incorrect on his premise. Rodgers has managed to make some pedestrian WRs look pretty dang good over the years. For instance James Jones was very good as a Packer, then left and washed out at two different spots before coming back and playing as a pretty effective starting NFL WR again. Yes, part of that is scheme, but it is also familiarity and a comfort level with an extremely talented passer. That said, Adams has proven that he can continue to put up star WR numbers with the likes of Hundley and Kizer throwing him the ball. That would lead me to believe he'd be a star with any QB, as he's the type of talent, much like Theilen or Jefferson, who can make a QB look better. Cousins is a typical mediocre NFL QB. Good enough to start for maybe half of the teams in the NFL, but not a guy who is going to make marginal NFL talent look better. He needs to be surrounded by stars to look competent.

He's also been blessed to have otherworldly receivers in Diggs, Thielen and now Jefferson that have certainly made him look better than he is. Not to mention one of the top all-purpose backs in the NFL in Cook. The Vikings have surrounded a soundly mediocre (at best) QB in Cousins with superstar level skill position talent, arguably at the sacrifice of other more pressing roster needs. The Packers have taken the opposite approach for the most part. Put Rodgers on the Vikings, and that offense would be unstoppable. Put Cousins on the Packers, and you have a 4-win team.

And Cousins is out. Covid Cousins kinda sucks, so this isn't a huge loss for the Vikings. They'll ram Dalvin Cook into the LOS 38 times instead of 32 times now.

There goes the Vikings' gameplan of ramming Cook into the line 32 times. Of course they'll just do that with Mattison now. Zimmer's coaching philosophy is straight out of 1987.

If you can find a person on this site that is not wondering the same thing I would be surprised. I have to assume it's because he doesn't have any sort of standout trait that leads the team to believe he'll have success at the MLB level. He doesn't throw particularly hard, which is obviously the predominant trait the Brewers like in their relievers. Lindblom is a starter, with the starter's repertoire. That is kind of an apples and oranges comparison.

Even if that is what he meant the 0% chance after nearly a year is plenty of reason for concern. I guess if they hadn’t sort of hidden the surgery for a few weeks I would have more confidence they were just being careful. We really need him back, with what we throwing out there a good front 4 will kill us in the playoffs. A good front four? Like the Rams'? Who did very little against the Packers' makeshift Oline a few weeks ago? It's going to come down to scheme. Just like it would if Bahk and Jenkins were available. They'll have to make the necessary adjustments.

I know Bader is good defensively, but I just don't see a ton of upside offensively with him. There is no way he's a 4.3 WAR player. That seems crazy.

There was an egregious one on a Bears defender yesterday where he dove to tackle Cook behind the line of scrimmage (and made a terrific tackle), but they called an unsportsmanlike penalty for a "low block" because he dove around Brian O'Neil, who was Cook's lead blocker on the play. Just an abhorrent penalty to call there.

Their win over the Bears keeps them alive, but they likely still need to win next weekend against the Rams, and the weekend after against the Packers, not to mention Week 18 against these same Bears, to make the playoffs. This Vikings team is pretty much trash. They're the final playoff team as it stands today, so I doubt they need to win out,. Probably safe if they lose a game, maybe two. I disagree. They are in a cluster of teams huddled around the same record. A couple of those teams will finish strong. If the Vikings lose one of their final 3, it will put them at 8 losses, and make the playoffs tough. 9 losses and they are toast, unless every other team with around a .500 record epically collapses. I personally kinda hope they make the playoffs, though. Zimmer is a terrible coach, and the longer his tenure can be prolonged there, the better as a Packer fan.

I have a 10-point lead in a quarterfinal game in one of my leagues. My opponent has Van Jefferson going tonight, and I have Dallas Goedert. I have some confidence, but Jefferson has the type of game-breaking speed to take one 70+ yards to the house at any given moment, which could turn my fantasy game on a dime. But I have no one to blame but myself. Believing that the Packers D would shut down Huntley and the Ravens offense, I made the last-second decision Sunday afternoon to put Mark Andrews on my bench in favor of Goedert. I probably deserve to lose based on that terrible decision alone.

Huge, huge loss for the Bucs. He had evolved into Brady's 1A and 1B. The Artist formerly known as Mike Evans is made of paper mache at this point in his career, and as we saw last night, the rest of that WR corp leaves much to be desired. It's no wonder they are now ready to welcome Antonio Brown back with open arms. Dude is about to be peppered with 18 targets/game. Brady absolutely laid Godwin out to dry on that play. There was nothing the defender could do. Hit him high ... penalty. Hit him low ... blown ACL. Just a terrible pass that put Godwin in a no-win position.

Which is a plausible scenario, FTR. Though Dallas has the conference record advantage now, they have three conference opponents left. If they drop one of the next two, which they absolutely could, and we win both, week 18 is irrelevant and we get the Jordan Love experience #2. Giving Rodgers two weeks to heel that toe, plus giving Love more experience, definitely wouldn't be a bad thing.

LOL 25 hours and $5 extra for 150 hours? I get unlimited for free with YouTube TV. But you keep on doing you and paying for that horrible customer service. We will see you in 2-years from now when you are again complaining about how they won't bring the price down for you. 2 years? If it is really that bad, I won't stay 2 years, no contract. I can handle $120 a month (including the larger dvr storage, internet, and tv) and be able to watch Brewers games. The Bally Sports channel is the deal breaker for me. I'll pay extra for that, no problem at all. I just see no reason to pay Spectrum $238 when I can get the same deal for 2 years with TDS for about $120-$125. If you guys who go back and forth between streaming services, and can't watch the Brewers, feel it's worth it for you and what you do, then have at it. I am not sticking up for TDS by any means, just seems like they are worth a try. I agree with you. If I had the option of TDS, I'd give them a shot. It seems pretty reasonable, all things considered. I certainly hope that there are eventually more options to get Bally Sports and watch Brewer games in the future. If there isn't, I'll likely be ponying up funds for DirectTV Now once again come March.

It's the same turnaround as any team that has a Thursday game on their schedule after playing Sunday. I mean, yeah, the players hate the Thursday games, but they are mainstream now.

Exactly. If anyone thinks that Rodgers isn't having an MVP-caliber year, they aren't thinking clearly. Based on play alone, he should likely be a shoo-in for the award. But as OSS mentioned earlier, there are other extraneous factors at play ... some of which of course are Rodgers' own doing. But I think if the Packers manage to win out and secure the #1 seed, he'll probably get it. Unless Jonathan Taylor runs for 600 yards and 6 TDs the next three weeks.
