  1. Wait- the players ran from the rain?
  2. Sorry Mothership - I stand corrected. Thanks
  3. From DallasBasketball.com Harris on the trading block? This deal wouldn't make much sense to me, but it was a heck of a way for Big Ed Sefko to begin today's chat. From e-mail: The Mavericks have been kind of boring the last few years on draft day. Any chance the try to make a little magic happen like in the early Nelson years? Eddie Sefko: The hottest rumor going around right now has them trying to move up to No. 6 in the draft by trading Devin Harris to Milwaukee. This came from Eastern Conference contacts, so take it for what it's worth. The guess here is that the Mavs would try to pry something out of the Bucks beyond No. 6, which would either be Mike Conley or Yi Jianlian, most likely. But the bottom line is they aren't looking to go crazy. When you have a 67-win team, even one that disappointed in the playoffs, it's prudent to think you're still going to be pretty good next season.
  4. I think if Yi is there at 6 the Bucks will get some real nice offers from GS who wants to connect to their Asian Fan base. Personally - I think having a guy like Yi on this team could be a sweet steal. NBA Comparision - Dirk.
  5. His son was Autistic and mentally disabled. HGH has its health benifits, and perhaps studies have shown it to help children in similar circumstances.
  6. Thats a heck of a point Patrick - Brewer and Mason would be an amazing defensive pair. I think Brewers defense is going to be Ron Artest good. Simmons - when healthy is a very good defender in my opinion.
  7. Id like to take on Reggie Sanders, maybe Vargas for Sanders and Gobble. - I really dont think Gobble is a good pitcher at all though.
  8. Me neither - its just brainstorming cause there is a rumor that Minnesota(dallasbasketball.com) told Dallas it would take some expiring money, a young player, and a pick between 3 and 7 to make it happen. There is also a rumor that Dallas could turn Keith Van Horn into an expiring contract somehow (they own his rights). I dont quite get how this works but supposedly it can happen. Also they have Croshere. Should the deal for KG fall through, the MAVS would still be in position to get the kid from China, who the young Donnie Nelson knows better than anyone. Anyhow - its just fun to think about. I put this together and
  9. If your Milwaukee, Would you send pick #6 overall to Dallas for Devin Harris? Dallas would then use that 6th pick as additional bait for KG.
  10. I really wish we would stick by Kevin Mench. His defense has been good and he is hitting lefties at .296. The power will come I think. Nobody was complaining about Mench in April when he showed us what he is capable of. If something better comes along then thats great, but he is doing a better job than anyone else we have on this team right now. I would like to see us acquire Reggie Sanders whom I think woudl be a perfect piece for this team when he gets back healthy and would probably be very acquirable from KC.
  11. I think its simple - they are moving Bush to the BP.
  12. We are a dynasty league and our keepers are due March 1st. We have to cut down to 20 people. We just finished our 6rd rookie/FA draft this week. Rosters are now set and there will be a ton of movement between now and the season as people make trades, etc.
  13. Yes, I know Sheets is great and after I said that I thougth about what I did say. Sheets is clearly the ace of the staff and has not once been suggested as being "bumped". Vargas, I agree doesnt take the team deep enough into ballgames, and I know he allows too many baserunners, but the Brewers win when Vargas is on the mound. I dont know that there is a stat for it, but the team does seem to rally around him and give him run support. I want Vargas in my starting rotation if the decision were left to me. All that said - I just want to hear a good reason why Vargas should go to the Pen other than he allows runners on base. I do think that Vargas might be our best guy for the Pen. I just dont want it to happen. I think he would be amazing as the setup guy(that role is filled by TBOW) because of his success with runners on base. I guess in a way I would like to see what Vargas could do with inherited runners. He seems to have a composure level that is off the charts. I do not believe it is "luck" that these guys dont get across homeplate. I think its a talent and clutch performance. CoCo has it. You know what makes Brandon Webb such a great pitcher? It is his ability to pitch with runners on base. There is something special about a guy who is able to slow the game down when runners are on base and get those big outs. They know how to PITCH and not just throw. Certain pitchers dont have IT. They dont have the guts to throw their 2nd or 3rd(if its even in the arsenal) pitch when runners are on base. Some, like Vargas, do. This is a guy who I want in my rotation when we get to the playoffs. I dont think he gets nearly enough respect around these boards. Thansk for the discussion - I respect the difference in opinions.
  14. Can Suppan be traded? Edit: Title.
  15. I completely disagree. Tier 2 in this draft starts and ends with Al Horford.
  16. Manny trying to send a message to the Crew that they have all the help they need right here in Nashville.
  17. any GUESSES what exactly that means? I could see a house blowing up by leaving the gas on but any guesses?
  18. TMZ.com a safe for work site?
  19. The Bucks have made inquiries into moving up to #3. The dropoff from 3 to 6 is huge but for the Hawks it makes sense. They arent going to draft ANOTHER PF. I think asking for 3 and 11 in return for Mo and #6 is asking for too much in return.
  20. nearly untouchable right now.
  21. What has Vargas done to deserve being pushed from the rotation? I have been trying to find the answer for this question for about 2 weeks now. Why do people want to bump Vargas - I think he has been our best pitcher.
  22. Good point. Anyhow - I find the man laws really insecure.
  23. I am pretty sure KC signed Dotel for the reason of trading him alone.
  24. While looking at some numbers - We could acquire Garnett as follows: PART A - Garnett Acquisition -------------------------------------------------------- #1 - Mike Redd makes 13.5 million #2 - resigning Mo and trading him will free up appx 9.5 million. Thats 23 Million. HOWEVER - I BELIEVE Mo Williams will be a base year player because of his 20+% increase which means the Bucks can only take back HALF of his salary - or appx 5 million. 13.5 + 5.0 = 18.5 Million. Garnett costs - 21 Million. When teams over the cap are exchaging players the salarys must be within 15% + 100K of eachother. In this case they are. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All that said - when I really look at it, I think I agree - if we went out and got Garnett, we would not be able to afford Chauncy Billups, who is likely to command 10 - 12 million per. Unless of course we were able to move Gadz to someone - that would give them 6+ million off the books. Overall - I guess your right and I am wrong. EDIT TO ADD - I STILL DONT WANT MO WILLIAMS BACK. EDIT TO ADD AGAIN - I THINK THIS BUCKS TEAM NEEDS TO BE BLOWN UP ENTIRELY.
