  1. What the heck is a leak frog? Is this a gimmic?
  2. I think there is a trade in the works, but I do not think that Matt Wise is involved. And if he is, perhaps he is being showcased as a long relief guy?
  3. Wise with a 32 pitch outing? That seems really strange to me. Granted we are up 9 runs but still - does wise ever hit 32?
  4. To me this is total BS. Doesnt Dunn have a 13 M team option for 2008? That Option is void ONLY if traded. I dont believe that The Reds are looking to move Dunn.
  5. Little surprised that Ned put in the kid in a tie game so late. I guess if he is here you shouldnt be afraid to use him and hindsight is 20/20 so its only a half vent.
  6. My bad - listening into the game while on phone call..........
  7. Wow 99 pitches for DD. He leads off the inning right? Lets get to the BP.
  8. Cappy is going to get back to last year after tonight. I just think that he will show tonight that he is ready to step up now that Sheeter is out for awhile. Good Luck Cappy.
  9. Fair enough Brett - but on the other side of the coin, I see at least 2 pitchers who have the goods to really step up and assume Sheets spot as the leader of the rotation in Capuano and Suppan. Both guys have been underperforming a bit in my opinion. I cant wait till Suppan takes the ball next, cause I think he is going to assume the role.
  10. I cant decide - at first I wanted to just wait it out, but that is between 24 and 36 games that we are going to be without Big Ben. Problem is, I see nobody out there who is better than what we have. Bush Vargas Suppan Gallardo Capuano Parra Thats a decent rotation that might be able to get it done, but whom would you like to add, as a REAL possibility. Jose Contreras is definatly available. I wouldnt want him on this team though. He has junk. Jamie Moyer seems to have finally smacked straight into that wall and I cant imagine the Crew would have interest. I love to see the Crew active on the market but I dont see anyone who is really available that would help this team.
  11. Well the team can turn this into a positive. If they can keep their current pace up, then in 4 - 6 weeks they can add Benny back to the team. It will cost them nothing. Losing Sheets to me doesnt compare with losing Prince or a positional player because he only plays once a week. Anyone who expected Sheets to make it through the season without a trip to the DL wasnt taking themselves serious.
  12. Not sure why they would move Jackson, but unless it brought us Carlos Quinton or Justin Upton I wouldnt give them a thing.
  13. The Bucks have to hold firm for the sake of the league in general. If he doesnt sign, then he doesnt sign.
  14. David Noel fits into next seasons plans I hope. He has the skills to turn into a future defensive stopper. Those dont grow on trees.
  15. Yes - Barry should be talking to the media on a daily basis about his slump and how bad his team is. Seriously, if he did that tThen he would be kicked for just trying to stay in the limelight. How many times can you say you respect Hank and the homerun record before you sound like a scratched CD?
  16. Doesnt sound like it got into the Ocean, but what exactly does this mean? How bad can the damage be? This is the "worlds Largest Nuclear Plant" .
  17. Woefel World of Sports 07/15/2007: Mason set to rejoin Bucks Category: General Posted by: Gery BY GERY WOELFEL LAS VEGAS -- Demond Mason is on the verge of becoming a Milwaukee Buck once again. Mason, who played two-plus seasons for the Bucks before being traded to New Orleans two seasons ago, is close to signing a multi-year contract with the Bucks. The amount of the contract is unknown. Word of Mason signing with the Bucks spread among NBA officials attending an NBA summer league here Saturday, and Bucks general manager Larry Harris acknowledged his talks with Roger Montgomery, Mason's agent, were positive. "It sounds like a broken record, but I'm optimistic,'' Harris said in a telephone interview Sunday night. "We had some great discussions today.'' Montgomery echoed those sentiments. "We're optimistic about getting a deal done,'' Montgomery said in a telephone interview from his home in San Antonio, Texas. Montgomery declined to further discuss any other matters pertaining to the deal. Mason, 29, was a highly-popular figure during his time with the Bucks. He is one of the league's most athletic and entertaining players. His biggest asset as a player, though, is his defensive abilities. The 6-foot-5 is capable of guarding shooting guards and small and big forwards. Jimmy Eyen, a former Bucks and current Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach, said he regards Mason as one of the premier defenders in the game. "He brings a lot to the table, especially with his defense,'' said Eyey, who was at the Las Vegas summer league. ''I consider him to be one of the best defensive players in the league. "He plays hard every night; he brings it every game, and that's a big part of being a good defender.'' On a team that was arguably the worst defensive team in the NBA last season, Mason instantly igures to be the Bucks' best defender. But while Mason is held in high regard for his defense by league officials, he is also a competent offensive player. Last season, in 75 games for the Hornets -- all starts -- Mason averaged 13.7 points. In his final season with the Bucks, Mason averaged 17.2 points a game. "He's a high-energy player, a very athletic player,'' Eyen said. "He has the ability to attack the basket and that puts a lot of pressure on a defense.'' * While the Bucks are close to adding Mason, they may be close to losing Ersan Ilyasova. Ilyasova told The Journal Times last month he was seriously considering offers from several teams in Europe, atlhoug his preference was to remain in the NBA with the Bucks. There was a published report that Ilyasova has agreed to a two-year, $5 million with Barcelona in Spain. Harris confirmed Ilyasova was leaving the Bucks, but wasn't sure which European team he would join. "Ersan went to Europe,'' Harris said. "I wasn't told the team he was going to.'' The 20-year-old Ilyasova showed much promise last season. He played in 66 games and started 14 of them. He averaged 6.1 points in 66 games. That came after he spent his first season playing for Tulsa in the D-League. * While the Bucks may have lost Ilyasova, they are still attempting to re-sign two of their other free agents: guard Charlie Bell and power forward Brian Skinner. * The Bucks played their last summer league game Sunday, losing 79-67 to the Washington Wizards. Second-year pro David Noel led the Bucks with 12 points but made just 4-of-12 shots from the field. The Bucks finished with a 2-3 record. * The Bucks may take another step toward enhancing their relationship with Yi Jianlian, their No. 1 draft choice in the next couple of weeks. There has been talk that Harris and player personnel director Dave Babcock may fly to China to meet with the talented 7-footer, along with his family and officials of the Guangdong Ducks. ... Speaking of Yi, some league people believe Dan Fegan's day of representing Yi are numbered. The scuttlebutt in Las Vegas Sunday was that Chinese officials involved with Yi's situation are becoming increasingly unhappy with Fegan's role in not being able to get him placed with a team in a major market with a large Chinese population.
  18. I am glad to say that I have been in Mench's corner since day one. The one thing I really didnt appreciate about mench was the day that we acquired him he arrived to the game late and I think he had a chance to pinch hit if he hustled and got ready. We were down one and he would have been a great canidate to pinch hit. He took too long and the opportunity passed. Other than that though - I think he has been an excellent addition.
  19. Id make sure Sheets misses 2 starts. Lets make sure that injury is recovered. We have the depth.
  20. We need fans of all types to remain competitive. Dont make them uncomfortable.
  21. Your right TC - it was definatly Saberhagen.
  22. I would bet this rumor is false. The Giants are 11 games out and sliding fast. They are an aging team with a ton of money tied up in veteran bats. The Giants might be in the market but it will be to trade one of their VETs before they move a young guy like Lowry. Id bet that Bonds would be traded before Lowry.
  23. Not going to happen. Oswalt might be on the block but your not going to trade an ace pitcher to another team in the division when he still has multi years on his contract. Strohs would never do it.
