  1. 5ish war player. With ops north of 800. Good defense. Will gladly take that player at Coors or not.
  2. Yelich is currently on pace to have his 2nd highest OBP season (.409) in his 9 year career. His highest was 2019 at .429….2018 was .402. Getting on base obviously doesn’t cover the lack of power/average/k rate. But it is a glimmer of hope. He’s also ranked by B/R as a top 15 base runner in the entire league.
  3. Assuming Jedd doesn’t want to play… family time.
  4. Same line up back to back games? Has this been done yet this year?
  5. Boxburger seems to fidget with his glove quite a bit and weirdly move the baseball quickly once he catches it. Is he another on the sticky substance crew?
  6. Hader isn’t ever going to be the multi inning guy he was in 2017 or 2018. He is a single inning guy for 95% of his outings going forward. It’s working. He’s never hurt. Rarely needs extra days off. He’s gotten better and more effective over his career. Also, when he does close games he’s very successful. Not everyone is cut out for the 9th inning. Hader has proven the moment isn’t too big for him consistently. To complain about arguably the best reliever in baseball the past 3+ years usage, seems like a bad road to go down. Enjoy the domination while he is still in a brewers uniform. Also, if Hader is in any game, that means we are winning. And he’s pitched in 40% of our games and has a 1.8war. Again, enjoy the ride.
  7. Ryan Braun? One more ride.
  8. Hader and Boxberger have each pitched in over half the games since the trade. That leaves games with only subpar relievers available (like Saturday) and likely sore arms soon. This is a good problem to have in regards to hader. Means we are winning games!!
  9. Of our “Big 3” starting pitchers. Our worst ERA is 2.25. Love it!
  10. Quality take. Similar to expert “mock drafts” MLB exectuatives may value people differently. Only takes one GM to over value someone to make a good trade. Ashby though I think would be one of the few untouchables in our minors. High high upside lefty arm their!
  11. Trey Mancini's name has been brought up quite a bit. Baseball Reference has him listed as "1st Baseman and Outfielder". Stearnsie loves his versatile players. He's currently hitting .284 with 11 HRs .360 OBP and a OPS+ of 143. He's on contract for $4.75 Million this year. And one final year of Arby next year before becoming a free agent. For context, the Orioles are 18-37....so no surprise that they will be sellers once again. What would it take to get 1.5 years of an above average 29 year old first baseman? Ethan Small and Corey Ray? Thoughts?
  12. [sarcasm]It’s June 1st. Ready to see the fireworks.[/sarcasm]
  13. Saw this in an article today... Woodruff has gone at least seven innings in each of his past four starts and has gone at least six frames in his past 10. He’s matured into an anchor for sure.
  14. Few names that came to mind as possible targets 1B Rhys Hoskins 1B Carlos Santana Would love to see Hoskins be added as a power bat. Not sure the cost. Philly isn’t too far out of it either.
  15. Brewers top 3 starters 2021 in WAR Woody 3.9 (best of all pitchers and position players) Peralta 2.2 Burnes 1.8 (missed 2 starts) All for a shade less than $5mil combined. Peralta’s deal looks to be a good one so far! Keep it rolling boys!
  16. He’s on pace to be roughly a 3 WAR player. My guess is he would decline his end of the option. Take his 2 mil. And then try to get another modestly long deal. Would rather him than Bradley though. Looks like he’s going to be around for a bit..
  17. Hiura being called up is probably partially due to the fact Vogelbach is still opsing 665...him showing life in AAA is a great sign. Would much rather ride out Hiura at this point.
  18. I understand the thought that we “lost” the Grisham trade. But after that playoff loss to the Nationals I figured he was good as gone. Team destination didn’t matter at that point. In hindsight the value is off, but his move seemed inevitable.
