  1. Realistically if the Cubs shop Rizzo, they are probably going to get several decent offers that are all pretty close. In a video game you would just take the best offer even if it was from the Brewers, but the real life implications matter. Imagine the backlash from local media, casual fans and season tickets holders if the Brewers had traded Braun in '15 to the Cubs or Cardinals. It's not really worth that kind of headache for the team if all the offers are kind of close anyway, and it's not worth it for the Brewers to offer something head and shoulders above everyone else for a 2 month rental. 1. The Brewers are not the Cubs rival. The Cardinals are the Cubs rival. Also no one is going to care about where someone plays for two months in a dead season. If Braun was traded in 15 it would have been a one day story until the battle for the #6 wide receiver in training camp supplanted it. Similarly the White Sox are likely playoff bound and the Bears have a new QB who will definitely make things work this time. 2. The bigger issue for the Cubs is that unless the Cubs send along salary, no one they have to trade has that much value. Rizzo and Schoop have the same offensive output and one costs $4.5M this season and the other $16.5M. Cole Hamels, is that you? Brewers for sure are a rival. You can have more than one.
  2. Similar in theory to the Packers trading Davonte Adams or Alexander to the Bears to help them win a ship. Ain’t happening.
  3. Interested to know what the odds of winning with 18 turnovers is?
  4. He gets a good offensive rebound then turns around and shoots a 3 he has no business shooting.
  5. Middleton getting 3 fouls forced us to play Patty way too much.
  6. Giannis, Middleton and Holiday have 8 turnovers combined.
  7. 3-16 from 3pt land. Feed Giannis in the paint!!! Isn’t that hard.
  8. May need to ride portis. He just brings that energy to this team/crowd!
  9. Get portis back in and Lopez out please!
  10. Not average, that's standing room only. An actual seat us over 1500. Just a quick $20 mil in ticket sales!
  11. Boy, day seems to be dragging to get to 8pm!
  12. Wong has been a 2.2 war player this year in just 55 games. Seems to have been a great pick up. Leader, quality defense, high batting average. With 5 mil of his 7 mil salary deferred from 2021. I’m not seeing any differed from 2022? Is that correct. He also has a team option for $10 mil in 2023 which may be appealing if he is still balling.
  13. The word “Big” can mean something different to different people. IMO big would be something like Scherzer, Jose Rameriez, Joey Gallo/Kyle Gibson combo, Kris Bryant…needle movers. Also, will be fun to see what bullpen arms are added. Stearns has a pretty good track record of catching lightening in a bottle with his deadline pen arms (Shwarzak, Pomagranz, etc) If there was ever a year to push the chips in past comfort, this is it. Trio of starters and elite closer. Like TPlush said, you never know if the trio of pitchers will pitch to this level in a year together again.
  14. Odds this team can beat the 2011/2018 teams 96 wins?
  15. Atleast the NBA can get reviews correct.
  16. Bench players coming up big so far in this one.
  17. I really like having Adames in the 3 hole. Adds some flair, power, speed. Seems like a good fit thus far!
  18. Since June 1, he’s yet to go less than a full 5 innings. Averaging 6 1/3 innings per start. That’s with a 1.97 era. Hopefully we can still get to him a bit. Reds have the 4th worst bullpen era in mlb with a 5.26…only beating Colorado, Arizona and Detroit.
  19. This post seems to assume a lot. You’re assuming the Brewers would start Shaw. He’s a great depth piece at 1b, 3b, DH, and even 2b. Even though he wasn’t producing great, he still had a knack for knocking in runs at key times. They way I view Shaw returning is that he’d be another option at 1b (since Tellez has been awful in limited time, Hiura has been awful, and only Vogelbach has shown signs of life) and he’d be depth at 3b. Urias can’t and won’t play every day WHy can't Urias play every day? Urias is on pace for roughly 2.5-3 war. He’s proving to be a quality player for this team. Shaw has -0.7 war this year. I would hope any additions at the deadline would improve on this. Voggy has -0.1 war…so not great either.
  20. Personally, would be disappointing to see shaw back on the MLB team. Thankful for what he provided over the years. But he is not remotely close to our best option. Urias should be starting/Peterson off the bench for 3B. And 1st base is redundant with Tellez. So I don’t see a spot for him. Would rather have Voggy for a bench bat over shaw this year anyway. If they add another infield bat, you’ve probably seen shaws last day as a brewer.
  21. Shooting 32% and only down 3? That’s a win.
  22. So…did they forget Giannis is on the court?
  23. Anyone a fan of the “shift tracker” that they are showing?
