  1. Isn’t this so true though? Those 5 pitchers have been the anchor of this team all year. That will stay true during the playoffs. Sprinkle in a houser/Lauer/asbhy/etc. We need those 5 strong and effective in 3 weeks. Offense is a fickle thing. Slumps happen. Likely won’t score a ton in playoffs either with other elite pitching against us. Pitching and defense.
  2. Agreed. Just so happens that it’s basically everyone. Makes things seem worse than they probably are. Adames is our spark plug and he’s just getting his feet wet again. We will be okay.
  3. Have they announced the time slots of games 1-2 of NLDS?
  4. Team isn’t firing on all cylinders for sure. But we are 5-5 in our last 10. So we aren’t nose diving. In pretty much every game. I’ll take the odds our bats get hot going into playoffs and we take off!
  5. I would ride the same approach as Hader. File and trial. As long as they are effective pitchers it’ll only be a 1 year commitment, without long term risks. This is why having Peralta locked in so cheap for awhile (assuming he stays effective) is so important. Then throw in Ashby and potentially Small as league minimum guys. Houser and Lauer will be cheapish as well to add to it.
  6. Why would we move Wong after a full year of success leading off? That take seems odd. I agree with Yelich and his struggles not warranting a top spot in lineup. Whether us fans like it or not, Yelich will be 2-4 in the lineup the rest of year. Regardless of stats to prove it on our end, it is what it is at this point. Let’s hope the rest of the lineup can get hot down the stretch and get a healthy lineup as well.
  7. Unless some team offers a lop sided haul, you don’t trade Hader. Regardless of what he costs in Arby. It’s a one year deal that won’t hinder the team long term. Hader is elite pitchers, not just relievers, in value. If you’re serious about winning in a window, Hader is closing games for this team.
  8. So is Berry going to last the season as the DC?
  9. Getting the slump out right before his playoff tear! I like it!
  10. 17 pitches for 2 innings? Will take that!
  11. Superb pick up. And to think almost half his runs allowed (9 of 21) came from 2 outings. Just consistently good this year.
  12. Except he only needs like 10 more plate appearances. He has 479 going into today. He’d need a lot more than 10 to get to 550 I believe it’s 550 this year OR 1100 total for 2020 and 2021, with 2020 being prorated over a full season.
  13. Guessing we will see Box and Willams today. Haven’t pitched in a bit and have 2 off days coming up.
  14. This team doesn’t have the buzz? Maybe I’m missing something… This is literally the best pitching 1-13 this team has ever assembled. Scoring runs at a very good clip. Playing very good defense besides Urias.
  15. I’d take this kind of dominance from Burnes and Hader in the playoffs! Guys looked elite, like they are, tonight.
  16. So glad he’s not on our team regardless of results. Don’t think I could handle this 60+ times a year.
  17. Perks of being up in the division, can skip a start or push back if needed.
  18. For the playoffs, do they assign umps that have the best grades? Or based off tenure?
  19. Just make Stearns the number 2 guy for everything Brewers. Call it a day.
  20. Rockies are 45-27 at home. 18-50 away. Insane.
  21. Didn't say that at all. I just think he's getting unfairly judged right now immediately after an injury. He's got more time left to get right again, and he will. But, more than fair to be concerned about how long that will take, if that's your point. I agree with that concern. I just don't think it's going to take into late September, let alone the playoffs for that to happen, IMO. Guy wasn’t super sharp. yet still lowers his season ERA…but should lose his playoff spot. Tough crowd.
