  1. Come on. Tyrone Taylor?
  2. Nice bat to ball skills from Molina and Fowler this inning. Leadoff walks man...
  3. Who do you propose to start in his stead? How many teams have 4 starting pitcher injuries at a time, along with multiple top prospects inexplicably flailing at SP at the mlb level? It's really easy to sit on a forum and whine about which of the bad options they picked without offering a better alternative. I spent 10 minutes looking through AAA and AA to come up with a better option and I can't find one. Wilkerson is unavailable. Burch Smith is probably the best option but would be available on short rest. Supak is available but has gotten destroyed in AAA his last 2 starts. Brent Suter I guess is an option, but he should be pitching in a more controlled environment at this point. Bottom line, if Davies is healthy...he's by far the best option, despite not being a very good option at all. Just a quick note, Burch Smith isn’t in the org anymore. Giants claimed him off waivers last week.
  4. Why would the marathon game have mattered to that decision? It's independent of the pitching moves and he went 0/6 in that game. I didn’t really say it did? I just know the Brewers typically keep 13 pitchers, so when I heard that Spangenberg was pulled out of San Antonio’s lineup I assumed he’d be coming up to replace a position player, Arcia being the most obvious choice.
  5. My first thought was Arcia going down and rolling with a Spangenberg/Perez platoon at short until Sept.
  6. 1. Trent Grisham (L) CF 2. Eric Thames (L) 1B 3. C. Yelich (L) RF 4. Keston Hiura ® 2B 5. Mike Moustakas (L) 3B 6. Manny Pina ® C 7. Ben Gamel (L) LF 8. Orlando Arcia ® SS 9. Chase Anderson ® P
  7. I’ve been a big Arcia supporter for awhile now but my patience has worn thin. Ready to move on. The only problem for 2020 is that there’s not much available via free agency that would be an improvement. Iglesias would be a good fit, however he has stated that he wants to come back to Cincinnati. If the Reds bring him back and decline Galvis’s option, we could potentially look at Galvis. Otherwise, Didi Gregorius? Can’t imagine he’d be cheap enough to fit into Mark’s budget and I could see him sticking with the Yankees anyways. Plus, we’re so left-handed dominant I don’t know if adding another one (albeit a good one) is a great idea for lineup balancing. Other than those 3 options, there’s not much out there that would qualify as an improvement.
  8. I'm sorry but using marijuana to cope with epilepsy and doing steroids have no business being compared to allegations of drugging and raping a woman.
  9. He was so far off the plate to Polanco it almost looked intentional to get the RH matchup with Cron. Doesn’t make too much sense but I just don’t know with this team
  10. You wouldn't have expected it from Gio though...Anderson...yes, Hauser...definitely... Lyles...would be the most likely, Gio?? No...he never loses his command like this and walks this many guys. Incredibly disappointing...you sweep Pittsburgh, take 2 of 3 against Texas, now give those two games right back..that shouldn't happen...at home. The Twins are way better than the Rangers and Pirates... and the Brewers for that matter.
  11. Will Lorenzo ever hit anything but a weak grounder to the left side ever again? Time will tell
  12. I’d take Rendon on his own easily over Moose + Grandal + Hershey’s bar. He’s an elite hitter and great defender. His cost makes it unlikely, but imagining him hitting in the #3 hole behind Yelich (or #2 in a Grisham/Rendon/Yelich/Hiura 1-4) has me drooling. He’s on pace to account for more WAR than Moose and Grandal combined this year. MVP-type talent. Does a bottom of the order that is: Thames Shaw Pina Arcia Pitcher also have you drooling? Because that is what it would be if spent money to get Rendon. It would look more like this: Grisham - LF Rendon - 3B Yelich - RF Hiura - 2B Braun/Thames - 1B Cain - CF Piña/Freitas/Nottingham - C Arcia (or upgrade?) - SS Pitcher Yes I would roll with that. Not sure where you’d have Shaw playing in your theoretical lineup if Rendon and Thames are in there too.
  13. Id rather resign Moustakas, Grandal, a starter, and buy a Hershey bar over Rendon. Probably a similar cost.
  14. Devin looks like a guy who hasn’t pitched in a week. Not sure why CC hasn’t gotten him in a game after how good his changeup looked + how bad the bullpen is.
  15. That’s what I’m thinking, if he’s available today, that’s the spot he needs to be used. No reason to mess around putting Pomeranz in that spot.
