  1. I suppose we can get on to 2023 with the miscellaneous college news thread. B1G commissioner is leaving to become the President/CEO of the Bears. Any guesses on who replaces him?
  2. I can’t decide if I want them to use another high draft pick on a QB with the possibility they actually find a good one or have them try to surround Fields with some better players. I’m not worried about Fields as the long term answer for the Bears, so maybe have them try to get some players to surround him and miss out on an actual stud QB.
  3. Here we are… week 18, win and we’re in.
  4. I think he was frustrated as well since there seemed to be quite a bit of contact on many of his shots with no fouls being called on Minnesota.
  5. Not that I expect the Lions to lay down or anything, but we should have beat them in Detroit when we were playing like crap.
  6. Same as it ever was… Same as it ever was.
  7. Agreed about being nervous for the game today especially with the Eagles losing as the bye is “technically” in play for the Vikings. Hopefully we can keep it rolling.
  8. Packers playoff chances impact games today: Commanders vs Browns Giants vs Colts
  9. Let’s keep those playoff hopes alive at least one more week.
  10. Officiating seemed suspect overall, and I’m no Michigan fan, but it seemed like Michigan had two big calls go against them. Overturning the TD pass and saying he was down just short of the end zone and then Michigan fumbling. Should have been a targeting call with 25 seconds left.
  11. He never coached Loudermilk as the DL coach and had minimal time with both Henningsen (1 year) and Benton (2 years). Not saying he didn’t have an impact with them, but not sure it is as big as you are implying. With that said, they need to bring in some talented players on the DL. I was hopeful they’d get Micah Potter’s brother from Cincy or Juedy from A&M when they went in the portal. I’m sure they’ll bring somebody in to help there. Right now we seem to be cornering the market on QB’s and DB’s. Former Boston College DB, Jason Maitre, is transferring in too. https://247sports.com/college/wisconsin/Article/Jason-Maitre-Transfers-From-Boston-College-Eagles-to-Wisconsin-Badgers-Football-Recruiting-201655101/Amp/
  12. Since I’m staying up to midnight to send my friend his yearly Birthmas text message, I went ahead and looked into this too much. As far as I can tell, Iowa was ranked 21st per Ken Pom prior to losing to EIU (ranked 365th). Iowa dropped to 38th and EIU jumped up all the way to 356th. Virginia was ranked 2nd and UMBC was ranked 166th.
  13. Isn’t that what Longo’s offense has been called? Even though, as you pointed out, it has ran more than passed on overage. Is it more to do with him pairing a vertical passing game with the run game?
  14. I read that the point spread for that game was only 20.5.
  15. Sorry - I was trying to be cute with my response to DR28 and probably could have been a little more clear.
  16. Yup - and that was my point. DR28 was saying it was sad that Oakland has spent more money this off-season than the Brewers. It isn’t about how much money you spend, it is about improving your ball club. The Brewers have done thru trades/internal promotion and not buying free agents right now. I still expect them to go out and sign some relievers and possibly someone like Brian Anderson/Jean Segura if the price is reasonable.
  17. Do you feel the A’s have improved more than the Brewers have so far this off-season?
  18. So far this off-season, which team has improved more?
  19. “Incidental contact” with their legs when Ramsey is pulling Watson down by his jersey.
  20. Shouldn’t that theoretically help all of our OF prospects when they come up?
  21. It sure seems to me that you’ve been engaging in this as well. Unintentionally ironic comment unless the last sentence included self-reflection on your part. Brewerfan has always been a message board that is different from the majority of fan boards in that the focus has always been on supporting your opinions with facts or explaining your thought process and not resorting to personal attacks - this thread has gone slightly off the rails as many posters (not only you Blighty) seem to be forgetting that. Anyway, I hope everybody has a safe and happy Thanksgiving spending time with family (or without if that makes it more enjoyable).
  22. You have no idea if the Brewers will or will not do anything with the money saved. There is no way you can make a definitive statement on 11/23 that they won’t when the off-season has barely begun.
  23. I believe it needs to be posted for 7 days.
