  1. That is usually what I would think when you have a trade like this at this time of the season, especially if the return ends up being a couple of low level minor leaguers. Never say never but odds have to be real long against this. Arcia is basically at the center of every celebration, it would shock me to the core if there was some big personality clash in the clubhouse that led to this. If you pay attention during games the guys all love him. Even opening day, Kolten Wong gave him a huge hug after the walk off and he's new.
  2. I'm going to miss him. I'm realistic enough to know that you can't keep guys around forever just because they're well liked in the clubhouse, they gotta perform on the field and Arcia couldn't quite get there. To me he was easy to root for and gave this team some much needed personality. Really hope he finds success in Atlanta.
  3. I'm guessing the Brewers get back a utility type guy, someone that can play SS/3B and has more experience at 3B than Arcia. Might even be a AAA type guy, I wonder if the Brewers prefer to have Pablo Reyes up with the big league club. Edit: Posted before I saw they'd be getting pitchers in return.
  4. I think it's fairly easy to think the offense is just in a bit of a funk. Just before the season started I did a rudimentary comparison between spring training in 2020 to spring training in 2021 and the offense was night and day better this year than last year. In 2020 the Brewers only had 8 spring training games (out of 20 total) where they scored 5 runs or more, 1 game with 14 runs, 1 game with 7 runs, 2 games with 6 runs and the other 4 with 5 runs. They had 9 games where they scored 2 runs or fewer. That's probably as bad as it gets. A truly pathetic performance and it was during spring training where there are some terrible pitchers to pad stats against. This year they had 16 games (out of 29) with 5 or more runs, 3 games where they scored double digits, several games with 7, 8 or 9 runs scored. So much better compared to last season. Yelich looked like himself, stats elevated to a 1.3 OPS and sure a lot could be attributed to it being spring training but he passed the eye test. This lineup can hit. They're slumping a bit right now, the Twins did a number on them and it makes sense that guys might start pressing trying to get things going especially if they only have one or two hits to begin the year. They just need to get into a groove, maybe it's just mindset right now because they've started slow, I just really thought before the season that the offense wasn't going to be as bad as last season, which in and of itself is a low bar, but I felt they would be more than simply better than horrendous. We need to give them a chance to get it going. Four games is too early to panic.
  5. You should be able to. Their site now requires one HD box when signing up, but I think you can call and go around that. However, their app is somewhat limited to what you can get it on. Right now it is only available on Samsung Smart TVs from the last few years. You would have to go buy Apple TVs or something to get it streamed on something else. Not sure how DVR works in that scenario. I have seen the app before and while a bit wonky compared to other streaming services it isn't overly bad. So I tried this on my Samsung Smart Tv last night and used my in-law's Spectrum login... I got logged in but the Bally Sports channel is grayed out? Any ideas. I thought I had my no Brewers problem fixed, damnit! I'm not positive about this because it's been a few years, but I think if you use the Spectrum app it has to be in the account holder's household using Spectrum internet under that account. Meaning the Spectrum app isn't intended as a watch anywhere app, it was just a way to watch on more devices in your house without needing more cable boxes. As has been suggested the way around that is to use the Fox Sports Go app.
  6. If I'm Castellanos what I take from this is, "Well, I guess I might as well throw some punches if I'm going to get suspended anyway."
  7. Day 3 of the season and one thing is crystal clear: Brewers fans need therapy.
  8. The Twins have been one of the best teams in baseball the last 2 seasons and the Brewers haven't looked outclassed whatsoever these last two games. So far I'm feeling pretty good about the team. It's never fun getting shut out on 1 hit but it's only 1 game.
  9. I'm officially over the pitchers hit for themselves rule in the NL. It's dumb, it's always been dumb and I'm just realizing now that my prior opinion of liking it was just Stockholm syndrome that came prepackaged with my favorite team being placed in the NL.
  10. Jorge Polanco and Orlando Arcia are the only two players that have not been retired by strikeout today. Arcia batting now. Edit: Down to only Polanco now.
  11. I got the middle tier since it included MLB Network...and the freebies HBO for a year and NBA League pass. I am curious if the cheapest package included Ballys though? The $85 Choice package includes Bally Sports Wisconsin. The cheaper $70 Entertainment package does not.
  12. Castellanos had a reason to react like he did.
  13. It's because they're playing the Twins and due to the balanced interleague schedule can't play a four-game series. You're probably right. The last two times (2017 & 2019) the Brewers had home openers the make-up day wasn't built into the schedule. Both were also 4 game series. Now I'm annoyed. Haha
  14. The typical opening series make up day that is built in in case of bad weather. I don't see why it's necessary in Milwaukee with the roof but I guess maybe trying to avoid a loss of game to Covid like the Mets vs. Nats series.
  15. This is what you want, you're much better off not wasting brain cells on it. I'm jealous. lol To be fair I know all of that from two articles. Once when Bella Thorne went viral for making her million and then the one today about the Dr Phil girl. Then I think I read an article about how all the 'adult content' media creators all had mental breakdowns because of the limits Bella Thorne caused for them. Which something about girls crying because they could only sell a picture for $30 instead of $100 was just kind of comical. This is funny because it reminds me of Zoolander, when it used to be a joke how someone could be "professionally good looking". And now it's more true than ever. I'm happily ignorant of who Bella Thorne is but I am familiar enough with Bhad Bhabie to know who she is and why she's "famous". I've also heard of Only Fans but mostly as a meme, from content creators that wouldn't typically be the type to have an Only Fans making jokes about starting their own account on Only Fans.
  16. Cable hasn't earned my business. I actually did explore adding cable again just a few days ago. My terms were I would not accept a cable box and the $8/month fee that came with it and the additional price could not exceed the $65 I would otherwise spend on a streaming service like YTTV or Hulu w/ Live TV. The rep I spoke with actually had gotten permission to meet my terms but when it came time to activate my subscription she couldn't because the technology they use requires the stupid $8 box. I said I would accept the box without the fee but they wouldn't do that so no dice. I really didn't want to deal with the hassle of their equipment and fees.
  17. Am I the only person who doesn't have a clue what this post is saying, or who the people are being referred to? lol This is what you want, you're much better off not wasting brain cells on it. I'm jealous. lol
  18. Lonely men and women after a year of very little social life will do stupid things. Yes I know that last comment was sarcastic but it is going to be interesting to see what the impacts of the lockdowns had on the general population. I wouldn't be surprised to see a rise in some social psychological issues. Oh, no doubt ... people have needs and the past year has been especially trying. I don’t mean to be insensitive. I just find it odd that the average person can spend up to 40 years working to fund their retirement; meanwhile, a teenager can sell her nudes online and become a millionaire overnight. Capitalism is wild. This didn't make her a millionaire, she already had a net worth upwards of $4 million. She has a music career and generates money via social media ads and endorsements. She got famous and cashed in. Weird things happen to people that become memes, if they handle things correctly they can get paid for the not-necessarily-wanted exposure. https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/models/danielle-bregoli-net-worth/
  19. Lol people really freaking out on a passed ball? Hader was pitching guys. Without Narvaez's RBI hit we're not in extras right now. Edit: Huh, another hit.
