  1. I hear you, I've been a pessimistic leaning fan in the past (mostly when it came to the Packers) and I never considered myself less of a fan so the concept isn't foreign to me. I mostly resist responding, sometimes it gets to be a lot though. I've typed countless responses in the past and then deleted them without posting because it just wasn't worth it.
  2. Some people just prefer to wallow in negativity. This season has barely started and they just want to wrap themselves in last season's ending. Even if I was in that mindset I'd get tired of typing the same stuff out every single day. What are they doing, trying to recruit members to their weird cult of cancerous pessimism? The glass isn't even half empty to these folks, it's broken with a jagged rim too. Edit: Before people accuse me of being unfair, sure I have moments of frustration and think "here we go again" sometimes. But I'm a Brewers fan. I don't want to just bash away at the team I'm rooting for. I'd think if I was that unhappy I'd just lose interest.
  3. I'm legitimately not sure if Willson Contreras understands how baseball works. There's an article with comments from him claiming MLB's lack of consistency in punishing players for HBP. He seriously doesn't understand how no Brewers have been suspended while Cubs players have been suspended twice (and the manager once) in the last two seasons. Willson Contreras sees a lack of consistency in punishment for the Chicago Cubs-Milwaukee Brewers feud - United News Post Willson, dude, hitting a guy on purpose (or attempting to as they did against Brandon Woodruff last season) is against the rules. Non-intentional HBP are not. It's really that simple. It's funny how the Cubs keep trying to paint themselves as the victims when they're clearly the aggressors. Am I capable of understanding they want to send the Brewers a message by throwing at Cutch? Sure, fine, but it'd be great if they'd act like adults and not whine about it afterwards like they didn't just blatantly target a guy.

  5. Yeah he has so much movement on that pitch I can see how he loses control of it at times.
  6. One two three four five Seven has two syllables Five four three two one
  7. We win 2/3 of the time the final score is 5 - 4. I'll take it.
  8. Mancini sounds like something you'd order at an Italian sandwich shop.
  9. This is why he gets the big bucks, getting out of trouble. (I hope)
  10. LOL this entire attempt is trash. At least the last line had the correct number of syllables. The redeemer: I suck at haiku Seven syllables is real hard Never e'er again
  11. I grew up in Sconnie Tell your folks I says hi Throw me a beer, hey Edit: crap I can't count to 7
  12. I was trying to remember who they traded away and thought, doesn't matter, great trade.
  13. I watched some video of Kwan hitting and he has the classic Keston Hiura leg kick. Let's pour one out to the eventual demise of his MLB career.
  14. This is a little random but I was puttering through some early MLB statistics and made this interesting discovery for this young season. Guardians rookie Steven Kwan is leading MLB with a .692 AVG, 789 OBP and 1.789 OPS, also leading the league in runs, hits, triples and walks (and zero strikeouts). Now that is an impressive debut.
  15. It's definitely implied. Can't have it both ways. And Justin Steele pitched 5 innings, there were 4 whole other innings that he stayed in the dugout.
  16. Slow starts aren't fun. Nobody is happy about it. That said, it's only 2-0 in the 4th inning.
  17. So any team can win any time except when Justin Steele starts a game? Seems like a flawed concept but ok.
  18. Uh oh, that's not good for the cut Hiura fan club.
  19. 4 times = 4 games, not 4 series. It stays exactly the same as it is now, 2 road games, 2 home games. Considering all the other AL matchups will be 3 games we simply play the Twins 1 extra time.
  20. Yep, that's my thought too. All those trade gymnastics just to end up with an Adams replacement that's nearly as expensive when Adams was already a perfect fit for the offense. Doesn't make a lot of sense. The one caveat is Metcalf is young with many years ahead of him. But I just don't think they want to trade either of those two firsts or seconds. The one bit of speculation I feel could be true is waiting to make a trade like that after the draft. Maybe not for Metcalf, if he's truly available I think there's one team out there that blinks first and makes a deal before the draft, but there are other options that probably won't cost as much that they feel will still help them and the demand on their 2022 picks will be gone.
  21. Funny thing is you couldn't visit or post over there if you wanted to. Not with a BF.com account. You'd have to make a new account there or be an anonymous lurker.
  22. My favorite Uecker call is one I can't find anywhere, it's a Sixto Lezcano GS call, I think from opening day in '79 or '80? It might have even been a walk off. I was a little young to have experienced it live, I was 6 or 7 back then, but I have heard clips of it played many times. The awe and excitement in Uek's call is pure baseball goodness. If anyone knows what I'm referring to (like I said not sure of the date or if it was opening day) or has an audio clip that would be amazing. Edit: I found it.
