Ugh, I really don't know how or why anyone turns that down. I'm all for players getting as much as they can but at that point why risk it? Is anyone ever going to regret signing a piece of paper and automatically getting $350 million? Like, ooh bad choice, you could have had $400 million. ?♂️
I just read about the women's #1 tennis player that just announced her retirement at the age of 25. Clearly she could have kept playing but she felt it was time because she didn't feel like continuing the grind and her ambition to remain at the top wasn't there. She had made something like $23 million in career earnings according to the Google machine. I'm sure she has no regrets about the money she's leaving on the table.
They were out of the running as of yesterday afternoon. Then Mayfield demanded a trade and my belief is the Browns upped their offer to get the Watson deal done because they were going to be in a world of hurt without a QB otherwise.
Pure speculation but if MVS is a Rodgers guy and we just lost Adams then the Packers probably don't have much choice if AR is demanding they bring him back. AR has always had high praise for MVS.
In all seriousness, I hope Love has thicker skin than that. The year Rodgers was first going to start the Packers drafted 2 QBs. When the time comes for Love to take the reigns, if that ever happens in GB, I expect the Packers to immediately draft Plan B.
Dare I say that with more picks at their disposal they could take another flier on a QB? (mostly blue)
If they do, who is more triggered, Rodgers or Love? Or the fans?
Yet we live in a world where the Rockies sign Kris Bryant to a mega deal...
I would put the A's and Pirates in their own group with the Reds in their own group above them. They have at least demonstrated a willingness to sign free agents in the recent past.
First, it's amazing to me this post has gone 6+ hours without a reply. To which I say: ?
I humbly submit my 5 choices, having spent exactly 15 seconds of research.

I suspect it would take more than a 1st round pick to land Metcalf. Probably similar return as Adams. In fact, between Adams and Metcalf, who would you rather have right now if cost didn't matter and also disregarding the Rodgers/Adams familiarity aspect? I take Metcalf and I don't think it's close. 24, ideal size, sub 4.4 40 speed. You have to wonder if the Raiders asked on him.
Packers offered to match the deal and he refused. I agree with the first sentence of your post though. The Packers could have given him this contract last year and didn't, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided along the way to just wash his hands of the whole thing and move on. Remember he was posting all the "Last Dance" stuff right along with Rodgers last season.
I agree. They need to go get guys to catch the ball though. More than just Jarvis Landry as they've been rumored to be in contact with. That's just crazy money for their situation, get picks, sign more affordable players. Good luck to Davante, wish him well.
Freeman is 32 and Olson will be 28 in two weeks. 4 years is a long time in baseball years. With Olson's 8 year contract he will be 36 in his final year. It's pretty likely Freeman wants to be older than 36 when his next contract ends.
Lorenzo Cain is about to turn 36 next month in his final season and people around here can't wait for him to be off the books (and have been counting for seemingly 3 years now).
That tweet is a bit ambiguous (kind of a nothing new here) and you could be right. Bringing him back at a $4M plus cap hit doesn't make a ton of sense IMO.
