  1. Love AJ Brown I would have went with him also. Honestly either way you go picking between those two guys there's really no wrong choice. If you're worried about Julio cutting into Brown's production I really don't see that happening, Brown's a stud. Agreed, can't go wrong. I actually got both this year in a SF Dynasty startup. Drafted Jefferson at 2.04 and traded Jeudy and a 2022 1st for AJB and Cousins. That's was a steal of a trade. Depending on how draft picks work in your league I guess. My dynasty league we only draft rookies, the rest is auction so I was looking at it that way. Rookie draft picks would be less valuable than if you could draft vets. I drafted Brown as a rookie and signed him to a max 4 year contract. 2 years to go including this season. He basically costs me $6 against my cap. I also have Ridley on his final season for just under $9.
  2. I agree H2H is far from perfect but I've played both formats and when it's a straight points league it's just not as fun. At least assuming you're in a league with friends that you can have fun trash talking with throughout the season. Main point is there are flaws both ways. I would never want to do a straight points league. Just boring. But straight points should be the primary playoff tiebreaker, not H2H. Agree 100%. A H2H record for a tiebreaker is random nonsense, no draft skill involved. I'd rather flip a coin.
  3. I feel like I missed something? I think fans were booing a bit but I wasn't paying close attention to them, maybe some were yelling stuff?

  6. I like Levering as a fill in more than Lepay, the Brewers probably prefer to keep him on the radio side of things but I could see Levering doing tv full time and being good at it (if BA ever left). I know Rock isn't everyone's favorite but I like him. He can be repetitive with some of his comments but I like his rapport with Anderson and Rock doesn't really shy away from calling things the way he sees it. Rock is a more old school baseball guy though, it would be interesting to have a more modern take from an analyst. I'm not sure Dillard is that guy, I don't doubt his general baseball knowledge but he's kind of limited to his own experiences and that's been a lot of minor league action and pitching perspective and not so much on the batter's perspective.
  7. I don't want to lose Stearns, that said as the years have gone by more and more it's been proven that just because there's been one guy that feels like a perfect fit to run "your" organization that doesn't mean if he/she moves on or is let go that they can't be replaced. The Brewers found Stearns, I trust that they have the tools to find the next successful person to do the job just as well if not better. Hopefully that day doesn't come until many, many successful years in the future.
  8. The furthest north I've been was camping for a weekend around the Crivitz area and it felt like I was in a whole different state.
  9. Has anyone here criticizing this play actually looked at a replay? The ball had already bounced once when Jeter intercepted it. When it bounced it looks like it may have hit the grass, it's hard to tell, but the bounce itself wasn't one of those skipping bounces, it bounced up (Jeter got to it on its downward trajectory at about knee height) and appeared to me to slow down quite a bit. I'm not sure the ball even comes close to arriving at the plate in time without Jeter doing what he did. I don't have a pitchfork but I think the play stands up as a pretty great play, iconic even, and I've never been a particular fan of Jeter's and am certainly no fan of the Yankees.
  10. Little Caesars is ok, sometimes, for $5. Leftovers however are usually trash, I like cold pizza the next day most times in general but LC's doesn't pass muster in that regard. It's got to be hot and fresh or don't bother. Their deep deep dish pizza is awful also, too much crust and not enough toppings to counter all that bread and the crust can't bring it up to satisfactory on its own. Pizza Hut brought back their Detroit pizza. I'm a big fan, I've had two already and it's only the first week.
  11. If he accepts the qualifying offer he still gets that 2 million on top of it, that's money owed to him from his current contract not his next one. you don't get to subtract that from the value of the qo You're right, I didn't factor that in. I still think he declines the QO if the Brewers offer him one. I'm a little curious how this is all going to work out once the season officially ends with a new CBA needing to be negotiated. It could change the way qualifying offers work entirely. Do teams go through with all these roster decisions before negotiating the new CBA or is everything put on hold until they have a new deal? We will see.
  12. I just watched it again, it was an awful call. I think the rule is the runner has to be within arms reach of the baseline or able to touch the bag and Peterson definitely was. The umpire was not in a position to make that call responsibly. All that said, odds are the Brewers don't win anyway but ending the game that way is bad form.
  13. What a garbage, unnecessary call by the umpire. Seriously blue? You're going to end the game on that call?
  14. Eh. He's having a season that's well below his standards, and they're losing 5-1. What is the origin of the "claws thing" anyways? "You're a Monster"? Pina started it, I think it's supposed to be tiger claws or something like that. https://www.mlb.com/news/manny-pina-brewers-tiger-themed-celebration
  15. Reds bullpen time has officially arrived!
  16. Mike Moustakas turned his 2019 .254/.329/.516/.845, 114 OPS+ season into a 4 year $64 million contract. It was his 30 year old season (he turned 31 in September that year). Garcia is going off at .275/.346/.506/.853, 127 OPS+ season with a little over 1 month to go. He's been a pretty solid to above average defender as well. He just turned 30 in June. Garcia has definitely had a more up and down career, Moose has been a bit more consistent but not exactly stunning either. Question becomes, how much do teams hold Garcia's bad 2 months in 2020 against him? He had a decent 2019 (.796 OPS, 113 OPS+) and is having a really nice 2021. I think he declines a QO immediately, but yes there are no guarantees.
  17. The Brewers would already be on the line for $2 million, they likely gladly would take him at the current $12 million option if they could, is risking $7 million more on the chance he declines the QO really that far fetched?
  18. Good thing we have Cain and JBJ while Taylor is languishing on the IL for the better part of the next month. It's almost like any player can get an injury at any time regardless of age.
