Bears defensive players just strike me as guys that wouldn't mind causing injuries on the plays they make.
I didn't like the out of bounds tackle on Reed's jet sweep earlier either.
My recollection is none of their traded picks are protected. They get their own pick every other season but have the pick swap deal with New Orleans in those seasons which are also not protected.
It makes no sense to me why the Packers would choose to be cheapskates with their coaching hires. They're really successful and profitable and it's not like an owner is taking a cut every season to line his own pockets for impulse buys. Maybe it's a philosophy choice in that they don't view coaches all that differently so choose not to overpay.
I'm pretty sure that Rich Bisaccia is the highest paid ST coordinator in the league though. For all the good that's done them.
Does it really matter that much if the Pirates finish last in the NL Central or last in this new division though? The real benefit goes to whatever other 3 teams end up in the Pirates division.
It does make a lot of sense to do East/West rather than AL/NL. Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Twins sounds like a perfect division to me also, so I'm sure that will never happen.
It's almost certainly not this way but I kind of imagine a bunch of former GM's sitting around a poker table and talking baseball. Like a low pressure step back but still getting to be a part of things and flex those baseball knowledge muscles.
For what it's worth, and I don't think it's worth much at all, ESPN put out their power rankings yesterday. The last rankings came out Nov. 2 after the World Series ended.
The Cubs dropped three spots from 6 to 9 and included the Cabrera trade. Brewers remained at 7.
Power rankings are kinda dumb but I still give them a glance usually out of boredom. I guess they're interesting enough to gauge how others see things.
You called it a whiff. As in, swing and a miss. If the words you are using to convey your message aren't being interpreted correctly that sounds like a "you" problem.
Yeah, I like how N.E. being trash and then landing a QB with a #3 overall pick somehow translates to "whiff" for Green Bay. The Packers haven't picked in the top 3 since 1989. Man, they sure do suck.
$14.99 per month or $139 annually. I think they've moved away from the $35 requirement to get two day shipping, it's more about whether the item is eligible or not. You can also get one day shipping for eligible items. Depending on where you're located of course, if you're in a remote area I'm sure your experience will differ.
Amazon owns Twitch so I believe they can show the actual game.
That's a good point but I believe they partner with Twitch streamers that "call" those games and provide commentary? Correct me if I'm wrong. So people would be at the mercy of those personalities talking over the game. I also don't really view this as a viable option for people that rely mostly on traditional TV broadcasts especially older generations.
I am in the Green Bay TV market but I also have an Amazon Prime subscription. The Green Bay/Milwaukee TV markets are a very populous region but obviously that's still not going to cover Packers fans in Wisconsin outside those areas and that really sucks. The days where folks only relied on antenna reception for TV broadcasts is far past. It's hard for me to fathom that folks in Madison for instance don't have access to the local broadcast.
That is an issue. Sign up with a new/different email address for a free trial if Amazon still offers those?
Optionally, playoff games can be streamed on NFL+ for a $6.99 monthly fee which would be cheaper than an Amazon Prime $14.99 monthly fee.
And yet that person somehow seems to feel MLF is more safe than Gute. Five weeks ago the Packers were looking like serious Super Bowl contenders despite losing very winnable games that many directly blame the coaching staff for. Then they lose their superstar on defense and their starting QB to injury, among other key injuries, and lose 4 straight games. I don't think the roster was the problem.
