  1. The Cardinals have been on my list since 1982. The Cubs only joined the list in 1998. Before that I actually mildly rooted for them. I didn't actually mind their 2016 championship either, the Brewers weren't affected by that. But I had a deal with myself that once that happened it would be the last time I was ever pro-Cubs. The Yankees have always been a team I hated and I don't think I need to explain why, though these days that feeling isn't quite so strong (it'll always be there though). The Dodgers are the new Evil Empire and they're a constant obstacle to Brewers post season advancement so they're definitely up there rivaling the Cards and Cubs. Astros might be up there too but there's not actually that much emotion attached there really. I'll probably let that go once the last remnants of the cheaters are gone for good.
  2. Nobody said that making the playoffs has to be a cakewalk. If it takes all 162 games then that's what it takes. The Tigers still gave themselves much better chances to make it by building that cushion than if they had to try to chase a team down from behind instead. Either way is possible but I'll take that first option every time.
  3. Only reason I think this post is silly is because what percentage of Brewers fans are actually going to see it? It'll be tiny. This post is a nothingburger. If the Brewers themselves posted to social media and begged their fans not to sell postseason tickets to non-Brewers fans for the exact same reasons as this post it would be largely ignored. You can't control the human mind by trying to appeal to a "noble sacrifice" over the potential for monetary gain. Or, as OSS has said, even just getting some return on a ticket you won't be able to use. This is not to say that I don't agree with the sentiment I just don't think this post is really going to have any significant impact if any at all.
  4. What a ridiculous meltdown. Embarrassing and infuriating.
  5. Not a big issue with me really but it does strike me as odd that you can't navigate to a poster's profile and find the Ignore button there. Again, I think I've maybe used the Ignore feature on 2 posters total so really doesn't affect me, just odd.
  6. Honorable mention to Bobby Hughes, who didn't actually officially wear 66 (this must have been a spring training pic). Only played 2 MLB seasons, both with the Brewers. I mostly just remember him being kind of a funny guy in that clubhouse.
  7. I remember Billy Spiers started the season on an absolute power binge mashing 3 HR the first week of the season in 1991. Alas, he didn't hit his 4th homer until July. He ended up with a career high 8 dingers that year.
  8. Internet tough guy detected.
  9. Well I think the idea is that if they keep playing around .500 baseball their chances in the playoffs won't be great no matter who they play or what their seed is. So they better flip the switch or it's going to be an early exit again regardless.
  10. Per Packers.com: The game will be broadcast across the country on Amazon Prime Video. If you live in the Green Bay market, it will also air on WGBA-TV, and if you live in the Milwaukee market, it will be shown on WITI-TV.
  11. Willson Contreras will begin serving his suspension today. There's a little uncertainty about the length but there are some reports that it has been reduced from 6 games to 4 games. Nothing official quite yet.
  12. Good news for folks that don't like the Apple TV+ MLB broadcasts is that it's reported that Apple is opting out of their contract after this season. But that doesn't prevent MLB from reaching agreements with other streamers to add streaming only packages going forward. https://9to5mac.com/2025/08/19/apple-mlb-friday-night-baseball-to-end/
  13. Lol I was going to say, Steve Jobs doesn't care much at all these days. It's also the last Apple TV+ game for the Brewers this year. I like their baseball broadcasts *shrug*
  14. Pirates are on a bit of a heater right now going through a 12-4 stretch and having won series against the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Dodgers, the last of which was a sweep. Can't take anything for granted here.
  15. The Brewers are 8-11 since they won the final game of that 14 game winning streak. If they manage to take 2 of 3 from the Pirates in the next series they'd be 10-12. They went 3-3 vs. Toronto and Philly, two really good teams. Folks kinda need to calm down. Or not. Wallow in misery for all I care. All I know is that I'd rather they be going through this "slump-ish" type stage now in early September rather than in early October. Doesn't guarantee they'll be hotter once the playoffs start but it is what it is. I don't know, it just kinda feels normal to me that the team would cool off after how whackadoodle hot they were for a couple of months there.
  16. The Brewers getting the monkey off their back would be awesome. But I look back at 2011 & 2018 with pretty fond memories too and they didn't make it to the WS. Tony Plush walking off the Diamondbacks, Brandon Woodruff hitting a HR off Kershaw. Fantastic stuff. I kind of agree the shine of a championship fades pretty quickly. It's always ideal to have one, goes without saying. The Bucks championship in '21 already feels like it was forever ago and the state of the team since then has just left me with a blah feeling. I'm still ecstatic they got one and the memories from it will last forever but it just goes to show how fleeting that crest of the mountain feeling is. Anyway, I'm just so happy that the Brewers are in the position they're in right now and it looks like their future is just as bright. Hopefully that first championship comes, if not this season then in the next 2 or 3.
  17. I agree. That is what team halls of fame are for, or in the Brewers' case, the Walk of Fame. Reggie White type players get their number retired. As much as I loved Thomas and think of him every time I see a Brewers uniform with the number 20 on it, he just wasn't that type of guy.
  18. You're not wrong, we've seen it already, albeit with a going on 40 year old Aaron Rodgers 4 plays into a new season, but injuries can hit any player at any time and completely wreck their season or career. That's the worry for me rather than performance. But you can't really make moves at this level and be scared off by the possibility of a freak injury. I like the boldness.
  19. I still don't put it on the same level as the Reggie White signing. White was a free agent, they didn't lose two 1st round picks and an important player. They just got him for the contract free and clear. Plus Reggie picking Green Bay was something nearly nobody expected to ever happen. Parsons might end up being on Reggie's level or better when it's all said and done though. There's definitely risk with this move but you gotta think 99% of outside observers make this trade if they could.
  20. Twitter taking no mercy on Jerry Jones right now.
  21. Well that just happened. Nice.
