I think, discretion being the better part of valor, I would just about almost trade an L for no extra innings today. I know you never are supposed to concede, and that isn’t the team’s DNA, and that is good, but the situation becomes that much tougher it we have to pitch another couple innings or more here.

Reds pitchers are well-coached and do well in a very difficult environment. I, for one, think Derek Johnson should continue to push himself professionally and go coach in Denver, which is the only placement standing between himself and the widespread recognition in the sport he truly deserves. Seriously, Derek, go pack your bags now and go.

Any game that breaks the streak would be disappointing, but to leave this game with only one run, after playing in this park against a starter that gives up a ton of home runs (and Yeli going 0-for, to boot) would be quite a letdown.
