    Only if we can hang on to the ball. The Lions won’t let up. They’ll try and run us out of our own house, because that is what they do, but it’s cool. They can win November as far as I’m concerned. The game is played for January.

    Earlier in the year, there were several picks that were the result of the receivers. But it hasn’t seemed like that’s been the case for several weeks. He’s making bad reads. The coaches know it, he knows it. He has to be better. This is intolerable.

    The plan was a solid one. We are running effectively, the passes are hitting hands, we’ve limited Detroit’s possessions. No execution when it counts, though. And our midlevel defense blows chunks.

    Detroit should win. They are who they want to be right now, while the Packers are still becoming who they want to be. Advantage goes to the complete team, for now. I still think we’re on track to peak when we need to. All that being said, it’s not like there’s no path to victory. Goff historically turns the ball over a fair bit, and is not great outside and in the elements. They are vulnerable to the run, and that could keep this game from getting out of hand. Both defenses live off turnovers but give up some yardage, so if Love takes care of the ball, they’ll be in this the whole way, I think. I still think the Lions win because it is their time. But the NFL is not for long. We’ll have another shot at them, and we could be healthier and more seasoned by then.

    I’m happy for Aaron and Davante. They both made some vintage plays in the second half of this game and are coming away with a well-deserved victory. It was nice to see that again. But Wilson’s catch is still the story. Wow.

    Style points start being meaningful in December. Until then, it’s just a win. Detroit couldn’t get it done at home in the playoffs last year. Nothing is guaranteed, as we well know. I like our chances.

    Look, Detroit is good, no question, but I’m not crowning anybody for taking apart Dallas and Tennessee. Let’s keep things in context here.

    Don’t mind taking a shot in the dark on that. The payoff would have been large. Just didn’t have enough time to get a good look at it.
