  1. I *hate* not getting a TD there. If there is a team in this league you must bury 10’ underground, it’s this one.
  2. And then Watson drops the bucket throw. We need you, kid
  3. Horrendous. What the heck is this plan on offense?
  4. Vikings about to be on their 3rd string center. Time for the big boys to go eat.
  5. Special teams. Again. It’s the exact opposite of unbelievable.
  6. Plus, Watson and Nixon both active today. It is all right there. Playoffs start now, especially since Detroit’s win means we can’t win a tiebreaker against them. A loss today eliminates us.
  7. Looking ugly in NY, but Commanders down two Tds late is the big one.
  8. At various points of the last few years, much as been made of the leadership of either Rodgers, LaFleur, or both. But I can think of no more of a ringing endorsement of the leadership and culture of this team than the fact that they haven’t quit. Not when the injuries piled up, not when the playoff odds were under 10 percent, not when they reached the point where they needed to win out. No matter what happens the last two weeks, the fact that they are still alive at all is a testament to the character forged in the locker room and in the organization. And as a PS, it occurred to me yesterday that a stretch run like this probably doesn’t happen if Z Smith is still on the team. I don’t see a guy like that handling a losing streak very well, and I think he’d be checked out with an “injury” by now. I know he’s having something of a resurgent year in Minnesota, but it seems clear to me that he’s not the kind of character the Packers need in a season like this. Credit to Gute for keeping the glue guys and excising a cancer.
  9. I am quite thrilled to have been proven wrong! Merry Christmas, everyone! Let’s enjoy the holiday, go home and spank the Vikes and Lions and let the chips fall where they may.
  10. That very thought was occurring to me all 4th quarter.
  11. I can’t believe it! What a gift that was! And for those wondering on the 4th down decision, it was apparently a toss-up analytically.
  12. Another red zone trip with no TD. I’m not liking these next two minutes at all.
  13. Defense is somehow coming up with huge turnovers. Score a TD and put this thing away!
  14. So, PI is just not a thing anymore, huh?
  15. Very fortunate to be down a possession. So far, my prediction of a closer score than the game really is seems to be holding true.
  16. Well it all came up Packers today. Couldn’t ask for a better set-up…but I still expect a loss in Miami. The final score will probably be close, but one of those games that is not as close as the score indicates. Most depressingly, because everything else went our way, we’ll probably keep starting 12 for at least another week, too. But we’ll see.
  17. Nice to win, but there’s still plenty of reasons to think we’re going to lose at least one more down the stretch (heck, I think there’s at least a 50-50 shot we don’t just lose but get dog-walked next week in Miami, especially if Tua is the good version of himself) and make this all moot. But sign me up for spoiling the Vikings’ year. We owe those guys a playoff loss—big time.
  18. The QB play in this quarter is not exactly how you would teach it…
  19. It is kind of my nightmare that Green Bay soon turns into Indy. Indy goes Manning to Luck and looks highly competent, but have since cycled through coaches and QBs and are an abject dumpster fire, even in a comically weak division. Hideous.
