  1. Seems like teams are really challenging the OF arms this year. Wonder if that’s what “the book” says on us.
  2. I don’t think it is because there’s simpler reasons but I hope this also isn’t an indication Yelich is hurt worse than has been said
  3. Counsell is mostly fine to me, he's not the best but he doesn't do anything crazy that hurts the team but he always seemed like "the guy before the guy" to me. Once we really hit our competitive window I see him going for someone who's had a little more experience, John Farrell maybe? The front office is smart and isn't going to do anything irrational but if the season plays out like many think, high 70s/low 80s wins, the general fanbase may think it was a disappointment seeing as many probably had their expectations set too high after last year and probably place a good amount of blame on Counsell for it (not that it is or will be his fault).
  4. I’d say do it. Wait until that April date to get the extra year and service time but with pitchers it shouldn’t be as big a deal as with position players since they can blow up easier so get them up as soon as they are ready because they may only have so many bullets.
  5. Stupid windows. They should do something about that. Surprised Cain didn’t have sunglasses out there, don’t know if it would’ve mattered but still.
  6. Counsell seems like a manager who wants a defined closer, which I guess is fine, but I think the best route should be just to play matchups and use any of Barnes/Jeffress/Albers/Hader depending on who's needed earlier in the game and what type of hitters are up in the 9th.
  7. There's a post on the previous page that he tried to avoid it with the other treatment so I'd assume he has or had the injury required for TJ?
  8. Oblique “stiffness” for Yelich. Sounds like he won’t play tomorrow for sure. Hopefully it’s nothing but obliques can be weird and nagging
  9. Unless there’s some minor injury with Arcia it makes no sense to be giving him days off. The defense is too valuable
  10. How was his velocity in San Diego? It was posted earlier in this thread, but it was down in that game too. Think he topped out at 93 there, he was throwing with less velo in this game and don't think he even hit 93.
  11. What a win, this offense is never going to have us out of games. Anderson's velocity dip has me really concerned though, he really needs to be more 94-96 to be a TOR starter and if he's 89-92 like tonight he's going to just kinda be a guy.
  12. Anderson’s velo seems down. Don’t think he’s topped 92 tonight.
  13. How many guys have tested positive and then stuck around for a few years to be boo’d and hated even? Seems like most guys who get busted go away pretty quickly whether it’s by choice, going back to sucking or being hurt or somewhat being black listed. Braun’s one of the few guys who has a positive test who’s stayed in the league for a long time after the positive test and giving fans a chance to boo and heckle.
  14. Sitting Braun today would seem to be the most logical choice to double dip on the off days, like was already mentioned. I know last nights heroics my blind us but it's probably best for long term if he sits tonight.
  15. It’s too bad he can be their 4th or 5th best starter and it not really be a detriment to them
  16. If you take out the low and high guesses looks like most have the team between 78-85 wins. Which is a reasonable range for the year, imo.
  17. Could Thames or Aguilar have a minor injury they are considering 10-day DL’ing one of them to start the year, that’s why Choi is with the team?
  18. I’d agree. Hard to see a scenario. At 5/80 if he’s worth trading to bring value back it means he’s performing incredibly well as a 32+ year old on that contract providing surplus value would have him doing some special things and conversely it’s hard to see them eating salary to trade him or attaching a prospect/player asset for someone to take him if he’s not performing well.
  19. No it's not. It would just show that things change and they're willing and able to adapt instead of being stubborn. It can be both. It can show they are able to adapt but it’s adapting to a failure and/or admitting they completely misread the the market and were unable to to finish off a plan they set in motion.
  20. I think they can literally wait until about the first game starts. They could theoretically bring like 28 guys to San Diego and decide the morning of the game who’s on the 25 man.
  21. Win-Loss Record: 78-84 Playoffs (Yes, No): No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: - All Star Game Representative(s):Yelich Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich Pitcher of the Year: Davies Most Surprising Player: Davies, cements himself as a legit FIP beater and dependable ~190 pitch 2/3 starter Most Disappointing Player: Arcia for long term development/building block guy but just about everyone from last year who was good not being as good and regressing (Shaw, Santana Thames, Anderson, etc.). Thought about Hader but relief pitchers are so volatile that unless his stuff/velo takes a step back i don’t really care what his numbers look like. I’m pessimistic.....
