  1. Yeah he is the biggest key to me. The bad back is a bad sign. If he isn't healthy I would prefer he sit it out and roll with Taylor Austin whoever is playing well. Hopefully he is ok and can get hot.
  2. Grisham stands to benefit the most from Yelich being out. Playing everyday will hopefully help him get his game back to early season form and help his adjustment phase. At the very least a jumpstart into next year.
  3. Liking what we have seen from Black of late. Seems like he should be moving up in the bullpen ranks over some others. Would be nice to have another stuff guy in the pen.
  4. Wow this is good info. Thanks for posting. Worst case scenario means he misses most of next year too is unbelievable. This franchise cannot catch a break.
  5. Yelich out sucks for sure but I'm not as worked up as some. Grisham deserves to play more now and will. He needs to hit. Hiura has to get back fast and hit. Moose needs to get back fast and hit. Shaw I give up. He's done. Austin appears to have some value and if Arcia is feeling good about his kids born and can get his mind right for 20games that would help. Braun needs to be Braun and Thames keep doing what you been doing bro. If anything Counsell needs to give Grandal a day off soon so he doesn't turn to dust and he can stay hitting. If the pitching can pick it up a bit they can still make it but if any of those things don't then it's a wrap.
  6. I get what you're saying, but at the same time, it certainly wouldn't be the first time that a team rallied and played above their heads to make up for a superstar going down. You see it more often in football ... but it has happened in baseball too. The good news is they don't have to do it for 80-100 games they only have to play well for 20. They have something to rally around now and it can be done. Hiura and Moose need back now.
  7. This wouldn't be the end if Shaw Moose and Hiura were healthy and hitting much less Cain. Unfortunately they are not so I think that's the season. Unless Tyrone Taylor is flying under the radar as mini Mike Trout.
  8. Of course he broke his knee. Like I said. Stearns wouldn't be involved otherwise.
  9. He hit .218 in a hitter's paradise league this year. So about 70 points higher than Shaw is hitting right now? Give him a shot.
  10. Hader didn't pitch yesterday, did he? Nope. Counsell just waits to hear how he's feeling so he must not be feeling great.
  11. Sounds like Yelich is done. Stearns doesn't get involved unless it's real bad news.
  12. With Moose and Hiura down, and Arcia away from the team, they literally have no other options. Zero. That's why he's playing. I understand that they may feel that way but if in an organization of over 200 players?? It is likely that any one of them would be better. Too bad the Jung ho Kang deal fell through. He would be better. At least on the field.
  13. Adam Dunn had what's considered to be one of the five worst seasons of all time in 2011 when he hit 159 with an ops + 59. Hit 11hr and 46 rbi. Shaw is at 153 with 6hr 13 rbi ops+ 40. This is one of the worst seasons maybe the worst we have ever seen in modern baseball. How is this possible given the jump in offense league wide? It has to be mental. Given that how can you continue to play him?
