  1. Brewers have so many options with better stuff. It's tough to hand innings to Chase who is stopgap stuff at best. I'd rather see Houser start based on the stuff. Oh well we need a starting pitcher. Any available?
  2. Without Hirua this team is much less scary against left handed pitching again. Aguillar has done nothing and Braun still needs days off. Perez probably needs ab against them to make up the slack. Thank God we don't have the Cubs this week.
  3. That may very well happen. Just like the next 10 days are huge for Travis Shaw, they likewise are huge for Jesus Aguilar. The Brewers know now that they have a player that they can call up who will provide instant offense. They no longer need to wait patiently while guys like Jesus and Travis scuffle along looking for their swing. It is strange to me that Stearns who has had so much luck finding guys like Aguilar and Choi on other teams scrap heaps is so afraid of losing these guys that he would send down a difference maker like Hirua. If you found a Aguillar or Thames once you can do it again. The Luke Voit of the world are out there waiting to be found if you need them.
  4. Because he has an 850 OPS. Him and Shaw cancel each other out. The question is if Shaw has to play would you rather have Hirua or the Thames /Aguillar platoon. Sign me up for Hirua every day.
  5. Why not put Thames on waivers. If someone bites which I'm sure they would you save around 3 million this season. Use the money to try and fish a free agent pitcher. Shaw at first base with Aguillar against lefties is fine with me.
  6. Keston's 27% K rate is very similar to Shaw's 32% K rate at the major league level this year. True but we can only surmise he will get better with experience from what we have seen. Defense is tough call but I like him a bit better than Moose at second. Put Thames through waivers if he's claimed maybe the money could be shifted towards a free agent pitcher?
  7. This decision is a slap in the face to the player and the fan base in my opinion. There is no reason that anyone who is responsible for this decision can justify it beyond we just feel Travis has earned the right to be here. What? Earned the right? I am stunned that Stearns would say something so tone deaf to the reality of the situation. They told Nelson when he thought he was ready sorry you ain't ready yet. Now that's a guy who has earned the right. Shaw if hitting sure he is an asset but he hasn't earned Jack this year. The fascination this team has with big one dimensional sluggers is very frustrating and will continue to cost us over the course of the season. Offense overly reliant on home runs? Send down a hitter and call up a home run guy. Need a quality pinch hit ab? Send up Thames or Aguillar to strike out and not move the runners. The same team that has Jacob Barnes on it again is telling us we have no room for Hirua. It is a complete slap in the face. Period.
  8. huh? He thinks it’s bar league softball and that these hitters should be able to hit a pitch on the inside corner to the right side Umm my little league team does it so asking Ryan Braun to hit a ball to right side isn't too much to ask. Thanks for your feedback tho.
  9. huh? I'm guessing he meant move him over to 3rd base...but Braun was 2 for 2 and seemed to be seeing the ball well so I wouldn't want him TRYING to hit the ball the other way when he could yank one out of the park or just drive him in with a single. I like small ball, but that's dumb small ball this early in the game against a mediocre pitching staff/bullpen (one run isn't a big deal in that situation compared to a late game situation against great pitching) I get that but against good pitching they will need to improve this part of their game. It has been a struggle all year and improvement would help offset some of the pitching issues.
  10. He can look for that all he wants, but good luck getting it. Unless he has a truly breakout offensive year I don’t see why teams would suddenly offer him big long term deals. I would expect his numbers to come down to earth a bit and even if they don’t not really convinced teams buy into one big season. Would it really be shocking for him to come back at another ~$20mil price tag? Wouldn’t shock me to be honest. Or sign something like 3/$45mil. He was great last year and walked away with a one year deal. I think the Crew could get him to come back with a 3 year, $48 million deal with a mutual option for year four at $20 million with a $6 million buyout. By that point, one of Henry, Feliciano, or Fry will be ready to take over. At this point with his issues on D maybe make him the first baseman. It's a black hole right now.
  11. Second and third why would you not let him swing the bat?? You pinch hit him but now he can't swing the bat? Boy I just do not understand this team sometimes.
