  1. The by product of the Shaw Thames combo and swapping out Keston Hiura is lefties are going to be a problem. Grandal and Moose are going to be quieter and Aguilar is no longer playable. Another right handed option would be huge.
  2. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Brewers could have done it had they wanted to do so. That said it is probably more than they wanted to spend and other moves would be limited. The biggest problem I see is this team is in a win now mode but isn't being run that way. It's being run kinda in between. In between never works. Who on this team is going to be a productive member in 2 years? Outside of Arcia and Yelich I can't see anyone. The future is murky at best so why not put it all out there now and make a run at it this year. Even if you somehow hold off the Cubs are you beating the Dodgers with what you have? Kimbrel helps you this year and next. The farm system seems a bit dry position player wise outside of Keston. When is the last time this organization made two playoffs in a row? 81-82? That is ridiculous.
  3. This is true. The nature of this offense though is going to produce stretches like this. No small ball. No speed. Poor baserunning. Terrible at moving runners. Worst in baseball at driving them in from third with less than two. Basically hit it out or die. They are dying right now.
  4. I wanted Kimbrel as much as the next guy but realistically this team could just as easily be selling off Moose and Grandal at the deadline. The run differential isn't the end all but the facts are this is an average team with way below average pitching and two key components in Cain and Braun looking older by the day.
  5. Reasonable deal in my opinion. Cubs clearly in the drivers seat if he is who he's been.
  6. You talk about him a lot, but I don't think I've seen you get his name right even once. Dude don't you have a wrestling pay per view to watch??
  7. Agree 100%. Starting for me. This team seems to struggle with pitching moves in general. Anyone know why Nate Griep never seems to even get a shot at the show?? If Jacob and Taylor get 15 chances a piece a guy with 100 saves in the minors and is still young can't be a middle relief guy?
  8. Great series in Pitt then Hirua banished, Cubs sign a closer you could have had, then you are getting waxed by the AAA Marlins. It cannot be a worse start to an important week. We could look back at this week as a turning point in lots of ways.
  9. Kimbrel to the Cubs is no big deal. I am sure that Taylor Williams will be back soon in order to keep us in this thing. Lol
  10. I love how Anderson keeps saying how well the Marlins have swung the bats in this series. How about man the brewers pitching is terrible?? I think that's the key component in this equation. We all know that's the real deal.
  11. It's a coincidence I know but the Hirua thing is going to get played up. I know Shaw is well respected and welcomed back but the energy level just seemed off from the get go. Burnes needs to go too by the way. Brewers need to establish do results matter or don't they? Burnes Barnes Williams shouldn't be on this team.
  12. The question I have for the Brewers is why do we recall Williams and Barnes time after time expecting different results. Where is Smith Hart etc who have actually gotten a few guys out? This is madness.
  13. Guys like Williams and Barnes are reasons Brewers fans have to be frustrated with the Hirua situation. Same guys who do not produce get chance after chance yet production gets sent packing.
  14. Hope Counsell doesn't let this get out of hand. Day off yesterday so no excuse to give up more runs. Get him out of there if any trouble at all.
