  1. It wouldn't be an issue if every time he doesn't get a hit is quite literally every time he steps to the plate.
  2. Seems to be producing where he is.. Seems that Jonathan Schoop has done nothing of value offensively for us since we got him.
  3. That's why. One good swing doesn't justify it. And Schoop is completely unjustifiable.
  4. Why does Counsell continue to let the two coldest hitters on our team bat 3-4.
  5. I’m fairly certain it means there is correlation between when the game is played and the Brewers level of success. I guess you could theorize is no causation of this and no predictive value but it does seem to “mean” something. Ice cream sales are correlated with heat stroke, I’m not taking about that either. This is about as meaningful as the people who talk about someone’s “career stats versus a particular team” when that team has a completely different set of players than it did 2 years ago. Splits like this are irrelevant and not worth noting.
  6. You ain't kidding...24.1 IP, 14 H, 6 HRs, 22 BB, 29 Ks Good guy to take a flier on if the Brewers can find something in his mechanics to get some more consistency Mid August in the midst of a postseason run isn’t an appropriate time for experiments.
  7. They need to drop Aguilar from that three spot until he heats up. I’d prefer Braun there, honestly. The man is on a tear.
  8. A team that wants to get serious about a postseason run should not be signing sub par pitchers. Nothing more than a minor league filler
  9. I haven't seen that thread, my bad. Regardless though, everyone has been entranced with the Cubs for the last three seasons. They have flaws, just like we do. They're not a clear-cut favorite.
  10. We've been battling for the N.L Central division title all year and the national media, throughout it all, has this overwhelming perceived consensus that we're not legitimate contenders to overthrow the Cubs. In mid June I heard an ESPN radio talk-show guy say the Brewers "had a zero percent chance of winning the division", then just now on MLB Network they said the Brewers were battling for a wild card spot...uh, no, we're battling for the division. On top of that, this entire season our 'playoff odds' has had us at a 20% chance at winning the division (at most). Even when we had five or six games on Chicago, our 'percent chance to win the division' was always around 15%. It's one thing if it was just this year, but I feel like the media has always kind of dismissed us. What's so incredible about Chicago that people seem to be convinced they're significantly better than we are?
  11. none of this means anything.
  12. Why has nobody picked him up as a back-end starter? He wasn't bad last season (10-10, 4.26 ERA, 1.3 WHIP, 2.0 WAR, 4.71 FIP). There's probably something going on with him that I'm not seeing, but it seems weird he's all but out of baseball after a serviceable season.
  13. Before vs after Thames' home run http://gifimage.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/sad-to-happy-gif-2.gif
  14. Probably a dumb question, but is it basically a given that Moose isn't coming back in 2019?
  15. Then when they do come in they’re rusty. As we get later in the year I wonder if they’ll start using a Hader a little more. He’s had too many weeks with just 2 innings pitched and then when he comes in after a week off he doesn’t have good command. Seriously...gotta stop babying these guys. Hader threw 100 innings last year between AAA and MLB and is only at 53 right now with 50 games left. He also started 12 games.
  16. "I have a strangely good feeling about the next two innings" - Eye Black, August 3rd, 2018.
  17. Santana is actually hitting pretty well in AAA right now though, whatever that is worth.
  18. Cain and Yelich should get through one more time and take us to extra innings, then Knebel will promptly surrender the lead.
