  1. Yelich is regressing, only 2-for-6 tonight. I’m not one to panic, but I think we need to talk about finding a new right fielder. This type of production is unacceptable for a championship club.
  2. I have never in my life seen any sports team. ANY. Play with more enthusiasm and drive than this brewers team
  3. I literally logged in just to say this is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time: my sides hurt.
  4. No offense but is this a joke? Hiura is not at all a first baseman. He’s like 5’10 and thin. Sure, we had Prince there at about 5’11..but he played there his entire career and frankly couldn’t possibly play any other position at his size.
  5. It’s hard to believe he’s only 5 years older than me. I feel like we traded him a decade ago
  6. Next up: re sign Yuniesky Betancourt, move Shaw to second. Could you imagine lol
  7. You always hear people rightfully saying you cannot compare eras, which is completely true. The game has changed a lot over the years...but for sake of my own curiosity I wanted to ask a question that is probably impossible to answer...how do you think guys like Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb would fare in today's game? Would they still be dominant baseball players, or on a different level entirely? Obviously you can look back at more recent players like Mantle and know they'd still be dominant today, but when you really go back to the earliest days, would we still see Babe Ruth as a star in today's game?
  8. I know we don’t know an exact figure here, but the Grandal deal made us eclipse $100 million in salaries for 2019, just how much more do we have in the bank to get another big name? Could we even afford Bumgarner or Dallas Keuchel at this point?
  9. I'm still hoping we can teach Bartolo Colon 2B. That would solve our issues entirely. Fielding might be somewhat of a liability, but his presence at the plate would help us score more runs.
  10. Stearns is doing something that is almost unprecedented in baseball today. He is somehow building a current winner and focusing on the future simultaneously. He has done a great job of putting a team together, while also keeping our top prospects in Milwaukee (apart from the Yelich deal). I know we moved a few guys over like Kodi Medreios at the break, but we kept a lot of guys that seem to be circulating constantly in rumors.
  11. Replace Gray with Miley and your post was written many times a year ago. Now I understand the situations are a bit different with Salary and that it would be a trade but if we do go after him it will be because the front office and coaching staff think they can get value from him that matches or exceeds the cost. Let's just see what happens. Look, we have enough serviceable starters that will eat up innings and keep you in ballgames. Even in a best case scenario, Gray isn’t going to be an ace. We need someone who we can rely on in a one game elimination when the bullpen is tired so we don’t have to put the weight of the world on Jeffress and Haders back every time we’re in an important game. Apart from maybe Chacin and and a God knows what version of Jimmy Nelson, I don’t trust any other starter in an important game with a burned out Hader or Jeffress. Cue Dallas Keuchel.

Let's just see what happens. IMO it’s Keuchel or bust for me. Kluber is going to demand Hiura in return and I’m not willing to give that up. However, we can get Keuchel and we have the money to pull it off. I don’t get why he isn’t priority 1 right now. He’s the most sensible ace option out there for us.
  13. Why do we even want Sonny Gray? He hasn't been good for a couple years...the Yankees don't even want him in their rotation, so why should we? Just seems like another 3-4 starter at best and we already have enough of those.
  14. Some writer on twitter said that Santana is “a far better player than Braun”. Lol
  15. It brought me so much joy to see the players pouring beer on him and treating him like a teammate. He was so happy. He loves this team, he loves this city, it’s our turn to give him what he deserves. I hope we can deliver because Bob is truly a good man and I’m so proud he’s a permanent fixture here. It his turn!
  16. I didn’t cry when we won the wild card in 2008, I was 13 years old. I didn’t cry when we won my junior year of high school in 2011. But nothing has ever hit me emotionally more than seeing Bob Uecker with the team after the game, and honestly, I cried watching it. Ueck is getting old, and though I’m sill a young man, I remember growing up with no tv and listening to Uecker call every play. He’s grown old. He’s getting close to the end. If anything, I want to win this year for him. He has dedicated his life to this city and to see the joy on his face after this title broke me. Let’s go out and win this (pardon my language) damn thing for Ueck and all his years...means more to me than a title itself.
  17. The best part is now the brewers can finally relax for two days and prepare for whoever we play next. Celebrate tonight, drinks a few cold ones and rest up.
  18. I’m really only watching this game hoping I get six burgers for five bucks until midnight tomorrow at George Webb’s restaurants
  19. I have a major issue with an MVP candidate striking out over 150 times, but I guess I'm old school.
  20. I'm not bothering to read this thread too in depth, but IMO if you think Baez deserves the MVP over Yelich (bias completely aside), you don't know a dang thing about baseball. It's not close.
