  1. One last thing — we did not have a good pitching staff in 2018 and were one game short of the World Series. We filled our rotation with has beens and unreliable young guys and Chacin. People spent the entire season complaining about the rotation saying it couldn’t work. It worked, minus one game. Our offense right now might be the most lethal the Brewers have EVER had. I’m not talking exclusively about numbers, I’m talking about the ability to produce runs, which aren’t the same. Shaw, Aggie and Locain have all underperformed...and Pina. Top to bottom, nobody wants to face our lineup. Pitching doesn’t always win championships, whoever gets hot (hit or miss) in October does. If you can get to October you can win a title if things fall into place at the correct time. Wildcards have won the World Series before and so have teams you might argue were the worst team in the playoffs. All we need to do is get there.
  2. Davies and Anderson have been solid this year, can’t really got much worse than Chacin, Gio has been hurt for months...Woodruff is the only thing that has really changed in the last week and were due to have a couple guys like Suter and Nelson coming back, plus a potential trade arm. We are fine.
  3. Do you ever post anything that isn't some holier than thou criticism of fellow posters? This has actually been a fairly good game thread and here you come in with that shtick again. We get it, you don't want to sell. Yes, we're all spoiled complainers. You tell us every few days. Quit whining and maybe I’ll quit getting on your case for it
  4. I just don’t understand what some of you want with all the complaining. You should be happy the Brewers are about to be one game back of the division lead, instead I hear constantly calls to sell, sell, sell. We are not sellers. We won the division last year. We just finished a rebuild. Nobody is going to get a hit every time we have RISP or toss a goose egg every time you have the lead. You had a glimpse of what it looks like to be title contenders after decades and now a select few of you turned spoiled. This team is GOOD. If anything, underachievers. Enjoy it.
  5. If Hiura goes down again ever, I’m personally starring a riot outside Stearns office
  6. Why hasn’t Kirby pitched if he isn’t hurt?
  7. I’m sure a lot of those probably top my list. I’m only 24 so a lot of those names are before my time as a fan.
  8. You could argue between Gagne and Turnbow for reliever, but Turnbow didn’t come with the price tag.
  9. If you had to choose three starters, eight position players, and a reliver to build a Brewers team of the guys with the most failed expectations...who would it be? Reliever: Eric Gagne SP: Jeff Suppan SP: Matt Garza SP: Ben Sheets (only because he never became what he should have been because of injuries) C: Johnny Estrada 1B: Mat Gamel 2B: Rickie Weeks (wasn’t awful, but coming up he was supposed to be a perennial all star) SS: Jonathan Scoop 3B: Corey Koskie (big contact, injuries) OF: Jeffrey Hammonds OF: Lewis Brinson OF: Can’t think of one...
  10. Sonny Gray literally looks like he hasn’t hit puberty yet
  11. Bellinger was a career .263 hitter before this year, obviously young but I don’t see him keeping pace. I bet he finishes around .311 and Yelich around .338
  12. The logic of a better team improving your chances of winning MVP makes no sense. Take away Bellinger the Dodgers still would win the West. Take away yelich the Brewers wouldn’t even contend...how is that more valuable?
  13. At this point, it’s hard to imagine anyone voting Bellinger over Yelich for MVP. He’s beating him in pretty much everyone category now.
  14. If the Brewers continue to rattle off wins it’s going to be disappointing if they don’t end up making any meaningful acquisitions at the deadline. Especially after his comments. We're running out of time to make that call. Only 10 days till the deadline and you know some of the key chips are going to be dealt before the last day. I hope Stearns has his team working out any and all possibilities that would land us Will Smith and MB.
  15. 5-1 now since Stearns proclamation, time to get the Giants on the line and work out a package for Mad Bum and Will Smith.
  16. & his career ended prematurely due to injury. I'm sure taking one game off per week would have changed all of that and he'd be playing first base for Texas right now with 50 home runs....(sarcasm)
  17. -Because we are smarter now. -Because the game has become much more intense phycially over the years. -It is no longer possible to heat hot dogs and drink beer at a local tavern between games of a doubleheader. You act like this is something that's archaic. Prince Fielder played three straight seasons in which he played 162 games. It wasn't that long ago.
  18. It’s called load management. It’s all the rage in the nba My point is, if teams didn't used to do it and the players were still fine, why do we need to do it now? Why fix what wasn't broken? Exhibit A, Cal Ripken Jr.
