  1. I got the 3 red lights last night for the 3rd time. No big deal though, since now I'll get more work done around the house!
  2. Melvin just mentioned that there may be a chance Gallardo is back in September. He was on Mike and Mike for about 5 minutes.
  3. I have to agree with this. Rogers didn't seem to be too comfortable with the mechanical changes the Brewers offered him, and in a way I wouldn't mind it if they just let him pitch the way that feels natural to him. Ben Sheets had mentioned something about working on his arm slot in the off season and finding one which felt comfortable on his own... it seems to be working well for him so far, however I suppose he never really had shoulder/arm issues. I'm sure there is proof out there showing that the mechanical changes that have been made on players often work out better in the long run, but wouldn't it make sense that for players who are having a hard time adjusting to their new motions, that it might just be more safe to see what feels good for them? These thoughts are just coming from an outsider though who hasn't studied up on the secrets of player development that organizations use.
  4. I was on Amazon.com and ran across this: http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8680/carlosvtd4.jpg Needless to say, I laughed. Is it a coincidence that Carlos V's chocolate bar got rated as badly as his performance thus far this year? I think not.
  5. Ah, well that sums it up quite nicely. I figured there must be something preventing players from trying to break up the double play "illegally".
  6. I've had a question for a while about how it would be ruled if there was a runner on first base and the batter (lets say Estrada, since he was beyond slow) hit what looked to be an easy double-play ball, and the runner on first purposely kicked the ball away to avoid the batter from being out as well. I know the man on first would be called out for interference, but what about the batter? Would the double-play be avoided?
  7. It must feel good to be a pitcher for the Stars. 12-0 in the 5th already.
  8. I remember somebody mentioning "EphPod" over a year ago. EphPod. I've always had good results with it.
  9. I'm in need of a formula for excel which will delete everything before an equal sign and put it into Column B, such as: Column: A john doe=123456abcd Column: B 123456abcd I did a google search and found the formula =RIGHT(A1,FIND("=",A1)) but instead of the output I want, it gives: Column: A john doe=123456abcd Column: B 23456abcd It always seems to cut off the first part of Column B.
  10. Go to: 5/1/08 Gameday and then click "Video" to the left of boxscore.
  11. WOOOOO. I didn't think for a second that the brewers would come back to win it!
  12. Nice to see Braun talking to some cub fans before going into the dugout.
  13. Gillespie having a great time at the plate tonight. 4-4 with 3 doubles and a HR. Keeping track of the minors has been so much fun this year, especially the Stars. I was mostly paying attention to 3-4 guys, but now it's probably up to 10.
  14. Sorry to nitpick, but I don't think we've lost any games he's pitched in. We won the Cubs game that he blew and the Reds game as well. But to answer your post, I also like what he adds... even though he's blown 2 saves, it's nice to see that he can get the final outs in the inning to give the Brewers a chance to win it again.
  15. My brother had been sick last week, but I figured I wouldn't catch it since I haven't been sick in probably 10 years. He went to the doctors and wasn't prescribed anything since it's a virus. Well I caught what he had and it sucks. I've been sick since April 10th and it's getting very old. It started with a a sore throat/stuffy nose/mild headache, and then on Monday I lost hearing in my left ear totally, so I took some NyQuil and woke up with my hearing back to normal the next morning. That same day I woke up with the crusted eye thing from pinkeye and I've still got that going on with a pretty bad cough/headache/runny nose. While I can't really give you any advice, but just when I thought I was feeling better, it got worse. It seems to be fairly contagious as well, since my soon to be sister in-law and a friend just caught it over the past few days.
  16. It's not encouraging reading about Braun's thoughts towards sitting on the bench today: It's not good if Yost starts ticking-off his players this early in the year.
  17. Eveland is starting today for the Athletics. 6 IP 6 hits 1 ER 1 BB 7 SO up to this point. It should be interesting to see how he does the rest of this year.
  18. There's a nice feature on gameday that shows the actual video of the play. Go back to the 2nd inning and hit the arrow play button to watch it.
  19. The WGN announcers mentioned that his goggles were fogging up and he was trying to clear them.
  20. WGN said that his goggles were fogging up.
  21. Nice, thanks... just what I was hoping for.
